Language / Is Polish amongst the best-sounding languages in the world? [123]

Well...I am biased but as I have mentioned I love the sound of it when my Fiance' (soon my Mister- better learn to say my last name right!) is speaking and it's accent on his English.

It sounds so close yet different from the style of "Bohemian" my family spoke. They never identified themselves as "Czech" .
I grew up hearing Spanish, Portuguese, a lot as well with Cherokee, German and Welsh smattered. I think my mom's dad was only person with no accent.

Hungarian; it's such a mystery to me - I love the way it sounds!

I do agree that my Hungarian friends sound pretty too when they do quick info chats in Teamspeak

Anything about 'matriarchal fuktards'?

So some useless rhetoric? Um I thought they were already covered under the blanket of feminazis? Who also profess charming "deserve whats coming to them" attitudes, but have yet to affect the number of men coming in the morgue by a woman's hand ever even doubling the opposite. What a beautiful world it would be if we could throw in a inescapable crevasse, all the feminazis and the sick bastards that love that single researcher who "proves" women are just as fault as men as if that excuses or justifies the fact that men kill women 3-1. yeah , that's right.

On average, more than three women and one man are murdered by their intimate partners in this country every day. In 2000, 1,247 women were killed by an intimate partner. The same year, 440 men were killed by an intimate partner. Intimate partner homicides accounted for 30% of the murders of women and 5% percent of the murders of men.

(Bureau of Justice Statistics Crime Data Brief, Intimate Partner Violence, 1993-2001, February 2003. Bureau of Justice Statistics, Intimate Partner Violence in the U.S. 1993-2004, 2006.)

The Feibert Studies prove you wrong

ME wrong? Um hooray for Dr Fiebert and Male abusers of partners everywhere? because I almost had that law requiring castration go through...! Whew!

Seriously I don't know what importance of me that requires proof against that Feibert provides. DV I lived it, I learned it, and I vote it ever since. But I was pulling my paraphrased casual statements form data that is collected simply for the statistics raw.

And dude, I know nothing about you but what you present. I suspect by your love for that crappy quack, that you are divorced at least once...but women stay with worse. It is presumptive assessment that you are approving of selective pieces of his data and the association he represents. But maybe IRL you just argue devils' advocate and are a normal stand up guy on the conservative side. and that you think the reversed negative hatemongers society for men is as bad as feminazi associations. If you have first hand, if your mother, daughter, wife by former , cousin or sister has been abused by their spouse and they deserved what they got... well please feel free to share. I will go by what you present until then.

Seriously; my having a very personal bias in the subject of DV in no way invalidates my opinion that DV is nothing to do with feminism and can't change the actual crime data that men are aggressors more often than not. Who cares what women group research does or doesn't with bias.

I guess some can be happy with the clever one-of -a kind (which is why he is only major source that can be found that heavily substantiates the claim of "men's" groups looking to downplay DV as it has barely gotten action) junk science report based mostly on self reporting (yet no legal reports data entered into the correlations) and in the specific agenda of men from first data collected. with the focus for lobbying ESPECIALLY for the National Coalition for MEN (formerly National Coalition for FREE Men..backlash from the 60 started in late 70s. aka: ANTI feminist *given most credence by "father's rights activists" -you add that A word and its bound to be a bad thing no matter agenda or gender) ).. yeah real Unbiased ..NOT

Like I would give credence to some draft dodging acid dropper from liberal NY that moved to even more liberal CA studying psychology for the WHOLE war period (how convenient) with "downtrodden men" as his focus since he was with a chip on his shoulder since the 60s about how women don't have to stand for the draft. Um ..in his time period women were not making any foking laws so he needed to direct his ire elsewhere! I would lay money that some unshaved militant took his virginity and spurned him in college to make him so bitter, LOL (cant you guys find anyone less biased... with more factual data ? not likely and still support the theory of women being the major perps or instigators of DV. Sure, bad women are out there... and I do think DV shelters need to relocate and protect men who are abused by their partner of any gender too.)

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domestic_violence_in_the_United_States

Even the scum hero Fiebert shows numbers not that flattering. 38% of the percent that are extreme. So 62% of the 'seriously injured" are WOMEN

Not that those who wish to sit in some sort of bubble of "she asked for it" care for any info.

But those who wonder... there are more studies, most confirm that men are the assailants more often with less provocation, some sre biased -some not. But stats from 3 entities collecting realtime data versus one biased one

If legal protection from domestic violence was truly inseparable from marching with man bashing gorillas in dresses, then let me stand in line for my pitchfork and torch please. Thank God, Bob, the devil and dykes that the exceptions in men that buy into that mealy knuckle dragger societies, like Zim seems to want to do, are not the rule.

I am quite content with the protection skewed to women. When the serious hospitalization and death rate (can't say with those stats that wonderful Mr Fiebert avoids, is hiding behind shame of the reporting person! faking death during autopsy is pretty tough!) by partner assault reaches 50/50....then I'll be first to vote for adjustments in DV law. this is the second sickest conversation subject I've seen on PF

::And if that makes me a feminist then so be it::

look at the following

That video is outright garbage and to use it as anything reliable is to implicate that you are trying to encompass more than just the feminist /femi-nazis in your complaints.

That you are even hinting to claim that DV is somehow entirely fault of crazy feminists? WTF? 0_O Dude you are not talking even apples & oranges.. you are talking apples & flounders

You CAN"T be serious!

A skewed study proves very little for the point (and varies from original subject f thread some)... what exactly is your point anymore? Domestic violence has nothing to do with feminism except that control freak patriarchal fuktards who don't want to be caught and punished, have such a stick up their dick about nasty ass femi-nazis they meet breaking their balls; that they take it out twice as hard on the poor specially selected weaker prey unlucky enough to be in their path and blame it on feminism. Um ..not gonna buy it. Don't see the arseholes duking it out with some scary parade marcher in Seattle.

Women are emotional in general, and yes we can be the worst nags in world during arguments because normally non-physical pressure is all we can bring to bear if push comes to shove, even if she is the one temperamental enough to wanna throw a punch at his head.

Women do not resort to physical violence to make their point in even a iota as close to the same percentage as men. Even in our own defense are less likely to respond with physical violence. It is not in our hardwiring and very rarely taught to us as girls.

You don't know WAT THE FOK you are talking about! You have never lived it, obviously never knew anyone close who did never had it in your family or your tune would be modified. I have a ex that drowned me (I was under 15 min-took 4 hours for full revival) and lived, That knocked two of my teeth out ,,, still breathing. No religious position on divorce was keeping me there.. I was simply terrified of him. I laugh when I hear that rhetoric in a feminists or anti-establishment speakers mouth. Never thought to fight for years. He stalked me 3 years and I married him just before I could jet to family in Brasil, as he had a gun in his pocket to "kill himself" if I didn't (2 years before first stalker law in Cali).

Was not the person I am today who would just as soon shoot someone as not.

DV is about control , not just "being mad". The person with greater credibility, physical prowess, or financial control (all normally a males prerogative) is usually the more successful aggressor. Men... males: with control issues or outright psychotic temper are still the main perpetrators.

Wanna talk all the biology? Well then, don't forget, men have the higher adrenaline and testosterone to allow more extreme and irrational response to unpleasing situations and higher flight or fight response wishing to attack aggressively.... and they are the "do-ers". Which is why you have some weighty numbers climbing in Gay/Lesbian couples as they get a support system that is friendly to them enough to report violence. It is gays higher than lesbians that are reporting the abuse patterns... oh because the equation has .? MEN.

Domestic violence is not something simply reported more, though it has always been in our populations, but it is more prevalent in modern society with it's anonymity.

I don't support "equalization' I do support equal opportunity. Especially when you talk sports. Fact is the genders have physical differences. If a woman wants to compete in a traditional male sport like collegiate wrestling , she has to shut up if her crotch is grabbed (and women need to wear cup in rough sorts too BTW) or she can't met certain requirements because boobage/weakness. I competed in discus and shotput because my unusual upper body strength. When I was racing I competed against men half my age and beat their arses with exception of the top 5-10. But that doenst make me some kind of militant "feminist". > : ( As atheletic as I was, I still enjoyed cooking, entertaining, going to Balls, wearing nice things that enhance my cleavage instead of sport apparel that binds it. If I am not working a hard schedule, I enjoy giving my guy rub downs, massaging his feet to erase tension and fatigue (and raise libido >_<), feed him things that will make him live longer.

I firkin HATED the whiners in the army that didn't wanna carry their own **** and slowed down the rest of us. In the field, women already gave to be accomodated to extra hygiene privledges. I was shamed in Kuwait when so many got pregnant on purpose to get out of their obligation. I myself shamefully used the gender card to avoid taking that ****** untested drug for possible bio protection and the veterinarian grade anthrax shots.

I am not a supporter of feminist agendas or its movement. I do not connect them with any true equality or true suffrage. They want to be more equal and also force ALL women to take their style. Hell no thanks. But to even suggest that DV is somehow caused by femi-nazis and would just disappear if a sudden shift to traditional roles was established overnight? this is a terrible disservice for every victim that begged for help and ended up dead later.

Despite the Monster X, I like men, I am a traditionalist. I like pampering my guy, keeping things running smooth, looking attractive within my natural resources. I don't mind being the" shadow behind the throne". But I fully expect that in exchange for that very traditional treatment of him... same goes for me. He wants that doting partner a la 1950, he has to give me the 1950 housewife perks. If I am breadwinner or splitting the work... he can make his own damn sammich when I come home tired after grave shift! and if he wants to stay at home I better have that sammich waiting on my plate, the house in good condition, kids fed, errands done. So that we can have our good time both well rested .

Hmm .... I'd say its in Prague; but its not hanging, holding a sword, religious, gruesome, tasteless or on a horse (or even gruesome on a hanging horse..lol).

I wouldn't be able to guess the subject.

Life / TVP axes Dobranocka [21]

My kids had DVDs, played MMOs very little Disney channel or CTN exposure until they were older.
They were mostly out with me at the beach(tho I personally hate it), sailing on the little mini-sloop I used to have, on the bike trails, camping or snowboarding. Plus both were in ballet and TKD.

They actually were not interested in their age appropriate programs, they thought them boring or dumb and I wouldn't allow them a lot of anime til they were 8 (since both learned Japanese just to watch them, I caved)

So now that they have done this, what do kids have to watch as children's programs now?

Love / ARE POLISH GIRLS GOLD-DIGGERS? [359]

So in this OPs case was there even money to grab?

I give people my hand me down laptops and PCs all the time. I give my fine jewelry away when it stays unworn more than a year (except heirlooms). I am not rich. Simply comfortable.

Ex's dad called me a gold digger when ME(job, trust fund, home, car)/HIM ( a rich grandma who MIGHT leave something to trickle down, drove moms hubbies car, quit school, lived with mom). My ex's dad; who ironically married and bilked two women of good family and finance, and left them broke; is also a tool if one can't guess

In OP 's case it sounds like if she was a gold digger? she was not the sharpest pencil in the box since all OP seems to have had was Fool's Gold >_<

Man oh man! I agree with

just stick to wanking boy stick to it!

Sorry Zimmy, you are dead wrong on your last point. The percentage of Ads or shows that show a hapless male losing against a superior female equal are like a drop in the ocean. More often they are victim to "uberkids".

With exception of cable channel late night occasional plugs; I see more ads about diet pills for dogs that things saying:
"Hey dude...how about that ugly paunch you picked up over the years? Johnny Praig weight loss gyms can HELP you get that summer body you always dreamed of!"

"Did you order your balls salty with cheese? No? Use Winter's Morn male freshing product for those days that ape rotting in sun smell is not going to cut it"

"Seeping prostate? Wear Bob's sanitary pads for that shower fresh feel"
"Daaad... I cant get this condom on right!## Well son, that is because you are undersize...you need to use Trojan Juniors....prevents slippage!## THANKS Dad!" Trojan Juniors-for when 4 inches is the best you can bring up"

Oh and lets not forget balding... Yes previous generations of women were raised to expect your man will likely lose his hair by the time he is 50. But fok man.. at 20?It is not beautiful ..it is simply accepted.

And man boobs... If women have to upsize theirs... men should be pressured to remove those!
And men do not age better than women.. the standards just haven't punished them yet.
Mouth lines, hounds frown and crows feet was manly... yeah if you work outdoors all day farming.. otherwise you are looking like an old hack dude!

Most mainstream ads still concentrate on getting a women regardless of height into: NOT plus size 28-31 waist yet still keep a D cup-or add one. We have to smell like fokin flowers, be hairless as nine yr olds except thick manes on top of our heads, We have to have straight sparkling teeth, bright expressions, 4in or less hip to waist ratio, small pretty feet. There is now even industry of plastic ...<_< koochi surgery!! Cuz that has to look like a 9 year olds as well. The thin movement moving away from telling men to like curves that started with feminist movements hailed twiggy and despised icons of earlier era. Paris runway has become the ideal (just like Barbie- they have tall deformed bodies to make the clothes look good...)

We still have to give good service for low pay both in relationships and employment.

*steps off soapbox* end rant...still

I accept that some advertising uses anti-male humour to flatter female consumers. But the fact that they can do this with credibility surely highlights the bigger point, which is that men still oppress women. In contrast, there is a huge amount of advertising that tries to make women feel insecure about their bodies if they don't look a certain way, or about their skills as wives or mothers.

Barefoot , pregnant and in the kitchen is luxurious (with optional nausea) : )

Femi-Nazis are as discriminating as any sexist, sadly they pick on their own gender as well.
They take credit for EVERY positive move done for women, regardless of what agency instigated it but weasel out of blame for any backlash, bad behaviors or downright draconian.

So a Professional Feminist.. is that good pay? I think I could pretend EVERY man is like my monster X enough to get some foamy spittle worked up. I will not pierce my face, become foul or fat if that is required though. Not gonna wear 40 # glasses and If I get mustache it is not gonna stay

BTW: That comedian isn't the best example... his manner of presenting some battles in the war of the sexes SUCKS. He comes off with a bitter tone more than humor, like disguising attacks as jokes.

Love / Asking her family for permission to propose to my Polish girlfriend? [28]

I'm all for equal opportunities, I think women should have to ask their future mother-in-law if the men have to ask their future father-in-law :P Evens up the playing field..............or else just don't bother at all. I think most people would prefer that option.

LOL I'll keep that in mind if I do the askin.
And I guess that mean mother-in-laws/grooms side have to put out the revenue for "dowry" in form of the wedding expenses, planning and they are bound to help expenses and possibly take the abandoned daughter-in-law into their home if their Boy is a creep and not paying for the children-WITHOUT trying to take them for herself (actually my MIL DID do that...lol. We were very close. God rest her.)

I 'll sign!

I'm born in USA Texas.

My father, if he was alive, would expect to be approached even as old as I am now. As a mark of breeding, and good intent. It would be a bad start on any relationship with him if they did not.

My step dad who is considerable younger than my father by 3 decades; does not 'require' it... but if they don't approach him, then he might feel the need to "hava tawk" with them and even mildly has this attitude now. In fact wants "make shur of mah fouriner"when he is here with me for the months of August.

My dad and poppy despised my ne'er do well X that claimed us engaged but did nothing fornal and slowly UNimpressed them with his basic self (and me too I just took longer to examine him close. No wonder his grandparents treated me like a messiah). But both were critical from day one because they hadn't talked with him or met him til later

(I know...aaaall these Exes: there is 5 in total incl my Monster ex spouse. 3 were longer engagment with announcement)

And My first formal fiance as well a my Monster X (who in spite of all else came from old world Orthodox family) both approached my father without warning to me, to do just that (and got a lot of starter 'credit').

Work / Multinational company in Poland - high school diploma , they will check?? [15]

For not very exciting positions here in lackadaisial States I have been checked and often asked to present documents for copy into my file later.

Granted it could be because I have a hellova lot of credit hours in a more respected school yet only have a grind school degree as a Paralegal Assistant. I am 7 credits short from one degree and 4 from the other. Plus if they do the math it looks suspect. I fully graduated High School at 16.

If you are in a place State or country ..that has tight job market, competiton even for lower positions...an unhappy fellow employee can easily have your credentials put in question. You are really taking a foolish chance with this action. Specially being abroad whre you are very very vulnerable to scrutinization a little tighter than a native country.

Why on earth if you have been successful, have you not at last churned out a GED? That is suicide in these days. Even McD's wants to see one.

You are shooting yourself in the foot.

and ? never studied English? <_< You are obviously not American... we have English as a class from start to finish and college too though it is national language.

Chances are high in countries that people make their living just churning out paperwork, you will be double checked within the next 12 months. I would highly suggest against outright forgery. Some countries and even employers prosecute.

I understand how annoying it is when you were successful without finishing some course of study because you rolled eye at education during a boom era. Those credits shy short in college I have? for my Business Admin Degree and my Aeronautical Engineering is because I was working in general contracting at 18 years old pulling 21.50 an hour (and my mom pulled out and ****** away my main principle in my trust fund before i became majority in it *sigh* ). But I never lied and claimed a the degrees.

If you REALLY care about opportunities and better providing for your family, you should finish your HS degree or to at least a GED level if your native country has that.

I am more czech than everything else (though both sides called ourselves Bohemian). But do I look like modern czech? prolly not. Love / Fresh, wholesome country lass in Poland - getting married and going back to the US [167]

At least I, when I was pure and innocent, would put a guy like that on my "no way" list in a second. Especially if he'd not be a virgin anymore.

^ and THAT.

He could be handsome, he could be well off and it wouldn't have turned my head.
When I was still in the unopened package I would have wanted a pure (or 99.9% pure) partner and ...EMOTION. He would have been refused by me too in my un"known" days . Even now; I would not knowingly consider a "man-ho".

It takes a very predatory young lady to use her viginity as a commodity only. And that kind of takes the whole out of wholesome requirement right there.

And for the sort of girls that might take his offer, he has not listed any benefit fo rher? what living in USA... oh gee how thrilling. I mean I love my native country, a land of many opportunities even in these crappy times... But I sure wouldn't take an offer like this when I used to dream of living in Australia or Japan.

Honestly... seems like he wants to control her by visa and by advantage over her inexperinced youth. This ain't the stand-in-lines- for-meat iron curtain days anymore...

Dude, if you have any class you would help him no further in this endeavor...
his KIND of people is what moves the wheels human trafficking. But he is not in a country to get away with it scott free, nor has the kind of money to buy fresh goods. This whole thread gets more disgusting to continue assisting such behavior.

So far you have not been able to describe anything of trueness in intentions with this guy. This is not even matchmaking ....

Let him take his chances in the real world and get some chit off the Polish hearts date site or some such!!
If he has any personality whatsoever he should be able to obtain his perfect match eventually...

In actuality, it has long been the custom and practice that men should be experienced lovers whlst women should be innocent.

I think I wil disagree here:
in the timeline of humans and practice of marriage..it has not been that long accepted. And it can be pointed at as the start of deterioration of morality. That is one of those blanket excuses you hear... like guys who are anti-darwinist until they talk of bestial desire "men were meant to have many women as women were meant to have one mate " based on apes...bobonos in particular.

Yet when prehuman remains are found the clan groups are very closely related but in a linear fashiopn with occasional inbreeding.. sound like practice of sharing the love?

In today 's society all seems fair for both genders..though a big movement among many of the kids born after 80s is keeping viginity longer on a basis of self respect not connected to any particular religion.

The percentage of man-hos in older times was not that high a percentage anyway. But if you want to hold "back when " as a standard...only entitled guys several classes higher than a girl. Most of their action was outright and borderline rape of these poor country girls. (Not seeing a big call to return to such practices) and through position could avoid shotgun weddings or afford palatable courteseans. and the wives these entitled jerks got were often practically sold to them in arranged marriage and were not exactly allowed to put up a fuss if she didn't want some old reprobate. Country folk and the poious still pretty much had for partner who they had tasted the fruit with. The 1950's american businessmen with mistresses sowed the seeds & gave way to the loose sexuality of the 60s. Great traditions.

Love / Fresh, wholesome country lass in Poland - getting married and going back to the US [167]

he sounds creepy...

let him use a real matchmaker if he wants an unknown quantity with merits only claimed.
Bet he "doesn't mind" if she cant speak English too > : (
Sounds like he wants a closet wife
(the kind you take out of other cultures of difficult language so they cant speak to the neighbor women and learn their rights)but doesnt want the normal "mail order" ethnic varieties.

He can find an "unsullied girl " in the midwest EVEN in these times. Or Start going to church more if he is looking for such. Wholesome girls are still grown everywhere, though better luck in in Wyoming, the Dakotas, Iowa rural, Kansas rural, Idaho rural.

Old fashioned traditional like I am considered are tougher each generation.

Though I am pretty sure Polish girls of last couple generations are western enough, in sizeable number, to have bypassed good cooking and household learing for education and continental tastes. >_<

LOL..military wives are notorius for letting these girls know their rights, how to keep visas if they had kids..how easy divorce is if he is a tool...and how to SHOP to DEBT!!!Woot! dadadaDADaaaa! Charge It! But most American women wil school a girl that can speak even halting english if she is not kept helpless and shy.

Nope..him having so many special order chracteristics to his "match" just makes him pervy, creepy and probably a controller. YUK

Oh and he wants that huge age difference on purpose... more kinda sleazy intent projected.
Oh and he asked a very light acquaintance on methods to pursue his agenda...Sleazy rating just uped by 20%. Again..YUK

History / Poland is a Catholic country [177]

Sure, let's tax the Red Cross and Volunteer Fire Brigades out of existence

Don't forget the Salvation Army and the St Vincent De Paul and all the religious affiliated soup kitchens, food banks; most of which are even listed in the usda site for their impact. Oh and their aid to needy families in cash, gas, clothes, shelter

..let the govt handle it ALL. they get our taxes right? And they will need more taxes for sure...
they won't turn anyone away on subsets of criteria so convoluted you have to be a lawyer to use them or homeless.. right?

Though we may not know off the cuff why Constantine elected to exempt The Church. The US Govt counted on the charity of the practicing religious long before New Dealism interupted and spread to other countries yet still left many falling thru anyway.

And it still does. And it never meant to persecute the Church or ANY religion. Taxation is destruction
The US Supreme Court confirmed this in McCulloch v. Maryland (1819) when it stated: "the power to tax involves the power to destroy."

The US Supreme Court, in a majority opinion written by Chief Justice Warren E. Burger in Walz v. Tax Commission of the City of New York, decided May 4, 1970, stated: "The exemption creates only a minimal and remote involvement between church and state, and far less than taxation of churches. It restricts the fiscal relationship between church and state, and tends to complement and reinforce the desired separation insulating each from the other."

Of course the tax expempt gone also frees the chuch from the 1954 law against intervening in political campaigns. Since the law was passed only ONE singular church has ever had status revoked for politics.

It also pulls the exemption from Wiccan Churches or the Church of Satan/Allah and wotever, They get no minority right ..all or nothing baby.

US Supreme Court Chief Justice Warren E. Burger in his majority opinion in Walz v. Tax Commission of the City of New York (1970), "The grant of a tax exemption is not sponsorship, since the government does not transfer part of its revenue to churches, but simply abstains from demanding that the church support the state. No one has ever suggested that tax exemption has converted libraries, art galleries, or hospitals into arms of the state or put employees 'on the public payroll.' There is no genuine nexus between tax exemption and establishment of religion

Of course these relate to the US positions on churches...specially in a country that was founded by people of various backgrounds and finance who wanted religious freedom, not freedom from religion

tell another old guy how he f*cked over some foreigner

LAWL..Bro that aint just Polish.
Though I would think it a holdover from time in the eastern bloc than particular to Poland alone;
to be fair getting one on the 'foreign' person is EVERYwhere.

I have lived in tourist towns (VA Beach, SanFran, and all of Sonoma Co can be that way) and all 'outsiders' get gouged. Same for Mexico unless unless one of the darker , more fluent speakers was with us.

US states will take advantage of the n00b from other State or different region. In rural areas fooling and fleecing City Slickers and Carpet Baggers is an art form. And we all know how bad somone straight off the Turnip Truck is gonna fare in NY or LA or Chi 7 out of 10 times. It is so common it is meme for comedies.

USA, Canada / Anglo-mangling of Polish surnames in the US/Canada [22]

Aww com'on. Not only anglo countries are guilty; to be fair it would be better titled "mangling ethnic names by new countries". And it is not always caused by Anglophonic spellings.

Ellis Island you had not so cream-of-the-crop(not intelligista) trying to mark "X" on the what was hopefully the correct spelling of their name was dictated by generally educated english speaking person (but possibly not native English themself).

Sometimes your ancestor may had purposely anglized his name to fit in his new home, yet avoid losing it totally by transliterates like "Mr Brown" for "Moreno".

And before we were all numbered and scanned-changing name was simple.

My father changed his name in the Army in 1941. His given name was Ruby and he changed it to Richard purposely.
The Army mispelled my grandfathers middle name of Anselm to Ancil and it ened up in all ID afterwards making his middle name spelled different first time in 6 generations.

My one family had such competition for inheritance that each branch purposely changed the spelling from 3 full brothers so you knew WHICH son they came from ( Pruitt-Pruwett-Prewitt with variances in "t"s)

My Maternal side went traceably though countries from (Prague)Baginski>Bagneski>(France)Bagnes>(Portugal then Spain) Baggones which became in (in Brasil before split when some stayed in Mexico) branch 1Bageus/Bagne 2Basqez 3Borgues then the US the youngest 6 are Borquez (pronounced "bor kay") except oldest son's family who are Bagne. My family was easy to trace because the size and peculiar first names.

However my own birthname was changed from Gwynfyddyr for anglo-mangling (my mother couldn't say it nor my middle), then at 16 I changed it again to my nickname, a shorter name that sounded like my grgrandmothers Cherokee name as bonus. I disliked the anglized version since it didn't have the same meaning and I was afraid to change it back since my paycheck had simple Guinefer mispelled often as well or only my common nickname used.

I mean honestly..what would my name have become in Polish? or Finnish?
as for me..as a non native english speaking person with an impediment..I'm just glad I can almost say Dobrzynski more Polish now

(hunny said I was saying it like czech -and definitely better than how our other non-Polish friends say it..lol.

Life / First communion - it's that time of year again in Poland! [109]

Chicken and Egg situation they evolved together

I can go with that

Again, bullsht. Have you never witnessed altruism in animals?

have you? Altruism is not simply ANY kindness, it is to show kindness and/or put at risk your own safety for another that you have no genetic investment in.

You have SEEN an animal rescue, die for, sacrifice & care for, feed another animal that is not in its herd/pack/flock so does not share genetic material with in any degree.

And I am not sure if a mother animal under hormonal influence adopting out species counts. Even that lioness that adopted a gnu allowed another lion to eat it unpunished.

So, you think that's it's perfectly fine to murder, but you don't because you're afraid of a boogy man in the sky? You don't actually think that murder is wrong and everybody has the right to life?

That is TROLLING.... it is illogical arguement using circular reasoning which is fallacious in nature and never ends. It is induction not deduction and can give your your point no matter which answer I give. ..you say AH HA then I am right.

I want mods to start binning trolls that ask for PROOF in every frikin philosophical debate (which usually they made off topic because they want to pole-bash, jew-bash or bash religion and basically ruin and derail a thread they dislike; the moment they argue further without providing any viable inks to "peers" themselves!!

And even before a lot of other religions, beliefs.

I disagree totally....

What was before neanderthal..? apes? do we really want to live in chimp society? That we know now is pretty unfair and violent?
Were hominids any earlier than that anything more than animals?

Recent research has proven neanderthals were much , much more. that they interbred with new humans , especially in Europe more than we thought. Most Europeans have 4% unique DNA inherited from Neanderthals. 80 sequences.

These mysterious non religious societies without a higher sense of self and the thought of an afterlife that is reward, what would make an parent endorse any system at all in their children instead of letting them be teh dangerous, quirky , murderous narcissits they would be without restrcitions. Why bother accepting a law?

If it was the proper way to go why didn't this mysterious non-religious peoples survive from antiquity into modern day? befor eyou claim they were all murdered bu this or that religions..say who they were..how long they lasted

Why do you say that? I just disagreed with morality being religion's property

Morality, moral codes, existed long before Christianity. And even before a lot of other religions, beliefs. Our brain is capable of discerning what is right or wrong, good or bad, most of the time, without any help from gods

You did not simply say: Morality has been with humans before religion.. (which research has said the contrary anyway. There is no proof to date of any morality before religions.) And since you made sure to say CHRISTIANITY, which is lack of neutral language

So it makes it as a target you wish to most discredit. Even though it is offshoot of Judasim.
If that as not your intent, I misread it by your wording. Sorry. Your responses are definitely milder than some here. You were just last in the line and first in the crosshair; I was not addressing you alone as much as that theme which is being bombarded into this thread and ruining its original topic.

And feel free to correct me for doubting you are merely echoing a response.I don't think anyone stated there is no morality without specifically CHRISTIANITY.

I may have missed it, but even so that is not what most of us were saying, after the topic was hijacked with uncalled for attacks on religion in general and Christians in particular. Though one can quibble that only 54% of the world follow abrahamic religions, therefore only 54% would believe religion and by default, morality come from our God, as previous mentioned.

And speaking of morality... I think it bears repeating it isn't charitable OR MORAL of any of you to come **** on on a thread that was simply lamenting the commercialization for a practice that those who attend such events hold dear..regardless of your own personal belief.

Also ethics are not morals but evolved later and do not require religion.

Neandertal? Wow, that's far

And even before a lot of other religions, beliefs.

the point I disagree with most strongly is that there was morality before religion. And I hold there has not been morality in any society without religion or even group, though one can be ethical for societal good to degree that is new. Secular morality is new, while religious morality is not.

Religion may not have gotten sole ownership trademark on morality but it was the discoverer. Religion came first as societal glue after cooperative hunting.

Point ....was Neanderthals HAD A PRIMITIVE RELIGION,
So I can only wonder exactly who were these altruistic, virtuous non-religious societies before there was ever any religion? aliens? Ameobas? Velociraptors? you made a very broad, sweeping general statement there. Have you seriously heard or seen that isn't simply a modern person's theory and not based in anthropology or even psychology? especially as major studies are now being released that turn early 20th century assumptions on their ears as far as how primitive ancient man was not.

What morality at all has been seen in anything earlier than neanderthals? religious or otherwise?
grouping/herding/flocking together and having the major portion not kill each other is what ANY animal can do. Morality not required. Nor do they have any reason whatsoever to refrain from killing and eating their neighbors

bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-12049854

Conscience and morality are only just now getting serious research and study despite the pro or con bias of the anthropologist in charge of each.

Because his one theory of group selection and altruism which he cooked to explain the veering way from his "natural selection" such as the ones that volunteer to serve in war or give their life for another...had a major parodxial flaw. Wouldn't quite fit.. so Darwin just shifted his feet and assured that humans had special place and it was the intelligence that allowed it.

We know now, if you take all of anthropology as indisputable, that modern humans and hominids in general, are not as special as we wanted to think in many things. Except religions

Greek thinkers who atheists like to quote as morality before religion, were themselves agnostic or atheists sure, yet till grew up in religious superstitious societies that had a framework they could express a freedom of different belief and not be stoned. Ironically they were the most religious societies of thier age that produced so many philosophers. They had a god /spirit/demigod for EVERYTHING. Glutus god of assscratching was prolly amongst them even. The most fierce tribes in the most remote locations still had some sort of belief system. Rome was similar except it made State religions in contrast to Greek "cults".. it was also more expanive and practicle.. often adopting the gods of other pantheons like Mithra and Osiris. every god had a useful position..lol diefic divission of labor. Romans had more festivals. they didnt mind incorporating, borrowing or swallowing other religions. and their holidays.

The most recent released study has 8 out of 10 people identify as believing in something. After Christianity and Islam; the third largest "religion is"none agnostics/athiests, Judaism is 6th.

No traditional society that is avowed atheist has been discovered to date, but if you account for possible biases of active antique anthropologists and rather grey areas between "god" and "spirit," you might be able to find a society without 'gods'. No large groups of agnostic or atheist socities POST known dates of religion in practice.

I feel safe to claim there has never ever been a society with technically nothing from the start because even if mildly fictionalized versions of real experiences -legends and folklore; are beliefs. You'd have to theorize a human society with no narration, and research would be hard pressed to find missing. something that is such a fundamental part of language.

Just because you are obviously anti-Christian, you and others that are of your faction rushed to post things do discredit belief and religion...
to start by entering a thread that the topic was not to be a debate on religion but a discussion of a practice within one and its sad commercialization. But you can find there has been cold hard research about humanity and beliefs.

Belief is belief. If no one ever is there to answer in the dark of death..it still doesn't change that belief in an afterlife was a major catalyst for behaving in the physical life. Mazdah, Krishna, Jehova, Christ...Santa Claus. All have affected human behavior asn more often for better -not worst . Everyone wants their littlle version of no rules but anarchy is NO rules..including murder-racism-infanticide-property seizure and the powerful enslaving or simply removing the weak/unwanted.

And before any organized religion and definitely before a schizm of a religion between tribes or zones; two humans of different types that could breed need same space. One always lost; regardless of proof of direct confrontation. There has been war/genocide/ regional ethnic cleansing of the not so advanced loser species for some time. And they were not likely done for "Great Dinoskull" or "The direcatgod!" .

cbsnews.com/2100-205_162-6068619.html
Most hominids went extinct usually in a short historical span within time of a more evolved version becoming prevalent in the area. But very old species fossils are hard to reconstruct in society or possible death. The theory that Australopithecus afarensis may actually also been killed off and assimilated by its inheritor is becoming more popular. Research is starting to point to foul play by other hominids being cause of the mass death of Lucy and her clan. One lucky ancient sub species actually almost made it to modern times unchanged... only because it was safe on an island. But inbreeding and resources finished it off instead.

Not that the Polish Laws would apply to this site or most of what is said here, since as reminded last THREE times this subject came up since I joined in 2012..... this forum is based out of US ...not Poland.

it would be hard to even make the site give up who is from what country in actuality.

BTW : that comes off as a juvenile and childish arguement that only appears to be skirting inability to give an answer..

I will notadvise you about the Polish civil law, because you want it

? What about other members curious to know? <_<

Life / Why are Polish so obsessed with Russia [46]

And I return....

to a clown act; all this guest posting prolly by some banned PF trolls. This OP posts after himself rapid fire as soon as timer wears off like he is talking to another personality.

I see blanket statement "Why do Poles...etc etc?" to start thread. And not much improvement after. Which by the way if you use PF as an example of what Poles think? be sure you quote some of the few Poles here. Most are American or Brit here . With or without Polish ancestry. And using Soccer Hooligans from any country as pro/con? Oh pleeez

And Dude? Please..do NOT ever move to Arizona! We were Californicated enough by the Real Estate boom. We have equal discontent with all illegals ...notice the word meaning-NOT legal. And we do however, have special unlove for Russian nationals since we have had THREE major crime rings based from Russia in a 10 year span. A swoop operation. A med scam operation and people trafficking. Thanks! And Dem straight we:

put you in a detention center there if you commit any crime

and I don't know if I'd want to live in some anarchist state they DIDN'T do that!
And if you don't want to wear a Stetson or a pair of Ropers? you don't have to! Welcome to America! There is sizeable hip raver blotto crowd in Tempe as well as the CoEd crowd, plenty Newage fru fru gurus and weed head vegans in Sedona and sleek metrosexuals in Scottsdale. Oh and unlike San Jose? We are cool.

Even have several vehicle models named just for our suburbs. Laughlin-Navajos-Casinos-Apaches-SETI-ASU-Saguaro Catus-Gila Monsters-Scottsdale- Pony Express Run-Tuscon-Grand Canyon-Sedona-Painted Desert-Petrified Forest..and more. San Jose has ?Oh right..the Winchester Mystery house LOLOLOLOLOL !!Oh and Russian Bouncers? <_< like what kind of club goes out of way to find ethnically pure bouncers? Not one I'd frequent I'm sure.

0n a personal level? My Russian X is a tool that tried to kill me for insurance money. I loved my MIL but she would be considered a reprobate. The Russian community in NoCal is split between thugs and pious Orthodox Old Worlders. and all those Russian geniuses in Silicon valley -amazing! yet nothing famous with a Russian last name developer? Russian Investment wasn't even common until about 2 years ago. Must be the "man " keeping them down! LAWLZ

And really Texas would spray real bullets in the crowd? really?

And as a person with Roll Number I say DONT SPEAK FOR ME!

a willing 15 yr old in Arizona

I view "nothing to see here" except another boorish self hating Pole that is unlucky enough to live in left armpit of California-San Jose (Bakersfield would be the right) and seems to hate that he can't bang underage girls when being a bad example in places he won't be caught by peers , family and friends instead of dirtying his own den. It isn't any wonder he is bitter.

You're marek28 aren't you....?

USA, Canada / Some of the major cultural differences between Poland and America? [11]

Well I just found one unexpected..
I am shopping for new vehicle and have found one that is acceptable. I consider it small and barely viable.... a Ford Ranger xlt. It could ALMOST fit iside my former truck (77 GMC suburban) adn is barely bigger than my small sedan was ( 528e BMW).

So I show it to him....
"Omg what are you looking at something so large for..? I bet it barely gets *unintelligible figures in wretched metric* !"
But but it only has a six cyl and not real cab, back seats are jump seats.... I wanted a ridgline.
"Ah so american ... you want even lawnmowers to have 100 *more foreign measurement talk* " >_<

So I gave him link to a lawnmower with a V-8. I'm so trolly.
But makes me wonder:
Supposing I am in EU next year... (just theory).
I need a transport that can handle at least 3 of my family at any given moment
..so how would I move about Adult(1) 175cm/75kilo -Teen(2)180/73kilo -Teen(3)188/86 - 8yr old(4) 149/46
My economy sized kids have me scramblin for larger vehicles as it was

add disabled parent-(2b) doesn't go out often so can be switched possibly with adult child that drives.
Ideally Power chair needs vehicle that can handle it on suspension -has frame friendly to a modest tow hitch for chair trailor
Acceptable is additional trunk space for a folding wheelchair.

Oh and add eventual? DH Adult 179/70 ....and inevitable carseat that would accompany that ... AIYEeeee.

whats EU have that handles that kind of numbers ...lol

Love / My little confession hehe - I always thought polish women were ugly [57]

Most American men prefer brunettes

Nope-
not in my experience as an ethnic appearing female caucasion with auburn hair in America (except when I died my hair)

- American men are infatuated with blonde hair

Yep..
still the norm though percentage weights slowly favor us non blondes you can see by how many pretty actresses still call for the bleach.

and define "curves"
targetmap.com/viewer.aspx?reportId=5285

though offically curves and health are supposed to be measured by waist to hip ration ..not waist to chest ^_^ we know the score

past few years Russia-particularly Ukraine wins at ..um... chest enhancers.

Facial features are definitely a personal thing.. though square faces or large noses-crooked noses are definitely not to American taste, specially in girls.

And us averge lookers have to work harder to b enoticed and removed from friend zones, as mentioned above
