maybe...but my old Landrover did a fair job of tracking the wolves in Belarus....to film them , not to shoot them....

Yes...a lot of driving and walking to get a glimpse of a Wolfie , not easy to get close to them....Landrover is the ultimate off road machine , but i kinda like the bit of extra lxury you get in a Jeep....I have both...

No...it was just a one off.....I rescued some film people stuck in the mud in Belarus...wound up being a driver for them , as the Belarussian guy they had kept getting them stuck....he was a good guide , but couldn,t drive a Landrover....

Law / Shipping a car from USA to Poland [85]

Last i heard it was 25% of the price for the import duty...and thats the price they think its worth , not the price that you tell them it is.... A friend brought a Harley in from the USA for a small price , but to calculate the duty they looked at the price of a similar bike in Poland....might have changed now...

Travel / BUS FROM SZCZECIN TO FRANKFURT....HOW MUCH...? [18]

Change of plan now... due to lack of cash i can,t go to Franfurt and travel back with her.... so now we are looking at getting her on a bus from Franfurt to Sczcecin....can,t seem to find one tho....nearest place i can see is Frankfurt to Gdansk.....Help...!!

Thank you everybody for your help....we have got her sorted out...She begins her journey from Frankfurt at 2pm tomorow , heading for Szczecin , and i will pick her up from there....

Doesnt your friend speak any english or german at all

Yes she speaks English quite well , and her German is not too bad , she is really good at Latvian too...but then she would be , being Latvian....thanks again everyone....

Yes our first meeting in the flesh....We chat by video link on skype almost non stop so we know each other pretty well , and we are rather keen on each other....Just had a bit of a disapointment , as she can,t get a place on the bus today , but tomorow she will be on her way....I can,t wait.....

My mate flew to Vietnam for free....and he got paid for being there....all he had to do was drop a few bombs from his skyraider aircraft now and then...can,t beat that for a great deal....

Travel / Driving to Poland from England - any tips? [264]

Hoping to drive to poland at xmas would i need to invest in winter/snow tyres

I am a Brit who lives in Poland...i have never bothered changing my tyres to winter ones , the snow isn,t allowed to get too deep on the roads , and if you have experiance of driving in slippery conditions you should be ok... I am out in the sticks , and i have a 4 x 4 if it gets really bad , i haven,t really needed it up to now , apart from pulling stuck Polish drivers out of ditches....Some cars are better than others in snowy conditions , i have a Honda accord with front wheel drive , it copes ok with a bit of snow...

Life / 3 reasons why you hate Poland. [1049]

Well i have tons of stuff sent to Poland by mail from my sister in UK...the only time anything went missing it was an envelope with money in , and i suspect it went missing in UK after it was x rayed and seen to contain money...My camera.s and other valubles all made it to Polska ok...so i have no complaints there.....

Ha...that would be a challenge...lets see , i have a few slices of bread , a bit of cheese...and some coffee and sugar...nope seems i am missing most of the ingrediants....its nice to look at food tho...maybe one day i will eat some too....
