Travel / Travelling from Rzeszów to Szczecin [7]

Take a flight from Rzeszów to Warsaw, then to Szczecin. If you are lucky you can buy a ticket for very good price. Otherwise you'll spend more then 24 h for this trip. I travelled from Rzeszów to Warsaw last month with brand new Bombardier plane. The best choice.

Law / Questions regarding bringing my (Spanish) car to Poland [19]

You shouldn't have any problems using your Spanish car in Poland if you are a citizen of Spain no matter you have your address there. You do not need to register it in Poland. I know some people doing like that for many years. If you WANT to register it in Poland you will not pay VAT, because it's already paid in Spain, but you will have to pay excise which is 18.6%.

Work / Poland's ZUS-office visit for self-employed really that easy? [5]

It's not that difficult to contact ZUS at the moment comparing to old times. You can even try to do it by internet if you have eSignature.

Their website has German tutorial there:
zus.pl/files/45_13%20PUE%20-%20wer%20niem.pdf

To register self-employment no matter which branch.

Life / How much to convert a petrol car 1.4 cm3 or 1.6 cm3 to LPG in Poland? [7]

Converting your car to LPG doesn't have any impact on engine or driving performance by condition you pay attention to select proper car and equipment. You have to select sequence injection LPG equipment like STAG, but about cars you shoud make some reaserch. My BMW 520i was still fine after 140 000 km on LPG. Keep in mind you have to keep a level of "benzyn" high, otherwise you kill a fuel pump - it means no any savings.

History / Poland's society at communism and socialism time [55]

At communism time there was NO materialistic attitude in Polish society comparing to westerns. Probably the same in DDR, Czechoslovakia. In terms of wealth the society was aligned. Medicine doctors, lawyers, communist mid level officials, teachers as well as machine operators, plumbers, bricklayer often lived at same address. They went on holiday to the same places and their children played at the same playground.

Compare it to class society in west.

History / Poland's society at communism and socialism time [55]

Ask them how much university professor earned that time. Average taxi driver or greengrocer earned more. What they could buy in Pewex?

My father was state official, Moscow Political University graduate. His salary wasn't high, but he had privileges like car with driver for his use, holiday in Zakopane or in Sopot. Our family lived like

poor Polish average person

Travel / Hire a Car in Berlin to drive into Poland - can I cross the border driving it? [15]

What's wrong with car rental companies? My company is providing AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) service to customers in Poland, based on GPS / GLONASS. There are many rent-a-car companies among them. Most of them allow their cars to cross the bordres, but they charge extra for that.
