USA, Canada / Jobs for Poles in America [3]

Polish credit unions such as Pol Am often advertise for various job openings.

Life / Are dogs allowed on buses in Poland? [6]

Such lucky little pooches 🐶

Is the policy mainly up to the bus driver's discretion, throughout most of Poland?

Food / Golabki - Oven or Stove top [11]

Almost everyone I know prepare them in the oven. That's mainly because they're made in bulk amounts, with the intention of giving them to family members & friends 👍

Life / Pączki Day--do Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme count? [39]

The Polish church in Yorba Linda , has their Polish-style donuts especially ordered for festivals, from a local donut shop. The shop owners are Asian. The donuts actually taste quite good.

Life / Pączki Day--do Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme count? [39]

The church always sell the Polish donuts at their bake sale for $1.00 each. Don't know the name of the shop, where the donuts are made. I believe they might be located on Imperial Hwy.

Travel / List your dog friendly pubs in Poland - if any :( [8]

You could try contacting a Pet Hotel. Perhaps they could offer some suggestions for you.

In Palm Springs, CA there are many pet-friendly restaurants. They're absolutely great! My dog loves going there; especially since they usually have a special pet menu too:)

News / World's oldest man is Polish! [5]

The world's oldest man is 111. He was born in Poland & lives in New York.

Must be something about Polish longevity. My eldest relative is 95 & more active than many younger people.

Alexander Imich, an 111-year-old Polish immigrant and Soviet gulag survivor who lives in Manhattan, became the world's oldest living man last month when the previous record-holder, Arturo Licata, died just days before his 112th birthday.

News / World's oldest man is Polish! [5]

How sad, the Polish man who was supposedly the world's oldest man, has passed away.

He didn't hold his title for a long period of time.

Food / Poland's best cheap beers? [72]

I buy Leźajsk Polish beer at the Polish Deli, located in Orange CA. It's around $3.00 per bottle. Not too expensive IMO,

I'm assuming the price must be very reasonable in Poland?

Language / Do English-speakers sound funny when we speak Polish? [49]

I don't even attempt to ask for items by their Polish name any more, when I visit the Polish churches in California. I'm tired of always getting corrected on my Polish pronunciation!

Genealogy / Do I look Polish? (my picture) [375]

Been a while since I've sported a pic on PF

Besides being blonde & blue, I think my strongest Polish features are my forehead & slant to my eyes

Life / What do Poles really think about cats? [354]

There was once a thread that mentioned, Polish kitties only have an average life span of 2 short years. Maybe it's because of some of the crap they kill & eat?

Life / Large Auto Parts Stores in Warsaw (like NAPA, Autozone, PepBoys) [3]

Pep Boys (Manny, Moe & Jack)
Seems to be Polish-American's favorite auto parts store. I remember spending many hours there with my dad, when I was a kid.

They're great for auto repairs too, because the parts are available on site.
