Food / What is your favorite Polish Vodka? [653]

Didn't you ever do that to a Snapple or any other bottle of juice? You were expecting more of an interesting answer?

It's just a tradition

But really has no significant meaning. Everyone I ask anyway.... unless they just don't know.

I remember that at one point the bottle was difficult to open and that helped

That's what I said :) There wasn't anything else they knew about why....just was :)

Why the ceremony of thumping the base of a new bottle of wodka on the forearm before opening ...........is it to wake the devil inside or what?............

To open easier

Life / Polish Dance/Techno music [49]

Too much cheesy dance music there. Some clubs spin legit trance or D&B but the majority of them spin this horrible euro poppy dance crap. I've walked into a few nice lounges that had nothing but old school hip hop which was nice.

Life / Alcohol problems of Polish people [141]

I HAVE LIVED INPOLAND FOR 8 YEARS AND ONLY ONCE DID I SEE A DRUNK ON THE STREET.

That's it? I see a few everytime I'm there. The strange thing about these drunks is that they don't pass out. They're the walking dead. I see them on busses and sometimes just staggering down the side streets. But, I also see the same things in NYC....sometimes more....and really not AS drunk.

I hear more stereotypes about the Irish being drinkers more than anyone. But, there are all stereotypes :) I believe the largest group of drinkers are the alcoholics :)

my cousins in poland- i know about 5 of them and 3 out of 5 drink heavily. My 3 bros and my sister are alcoholics- except for me and my parents- btw my father nearly died from alcohol 2 times- he stopped drinking after which was 3 years ago.

I'm sure it's true, but nationality doesn’t determine whether you'll be an alcoholic or not.

Love / Polish Girls vs Russian Girls [813]

Well here's a pointer.
Imagine you are suffering a claggy throat, trying to clear mucus and pronounce words with a sort of hard 'L' or 'C'. That gives you an idea

Is it almost like cockney?
