Love / African girl from USA dating a polish guy needs advice [38]

From what I understand some PL guy's have a control problem. I can't speak for all though. Also, If you meant that much to him he'd want to be with you no matter where you lived. If you aren't worth it to him, why should he be worth it to you?

me thinks? Do people really say that? Yes, unfortunately I'm serious. I've never heard that before. Just sounds strange to say.

Is it also common for Brits to use a lot of foul language? Again, I'm serious :) I usually hear the word Cunt a lot....which in the US is VERY offending and will result in a smack in the face.

I don't associate with any Brits. I'm just "exposed" to many. And I use some foul language...with the boys of course :) never the C word. When I was in Scotland I heard them use that word a lot.

of course??? so foul lang is neccessary when out with the boys!! Now that makes sense

Yes. I don't foul language in front of women out of respect :)

And when a Scot says can't ...it's doesn't sound anything like the other word.

In comparison to British girls, polish win hands down.
British are not feminine at all, they behave like men,go in large female groups to pubs, drink, make a lot of noise etc.

I agree. When I was in Poznan there were a few groups of British people(mostly women) and they were the loudest people in the center.

nor do I drink copious amounts of beer or become roudy in a pulic place

Good to hear..so it's copious amounts of Gin and Tonic? :P

And I'm sure you're completely capable of being lafy like :) If we didn't vent we'd all explode :)

Add I don't mean that I don't associate with Brits because I dislike them. My family comes from England so I hold nothing against the people. I even think there is a street named after my family somewhere. I'd love to visit one day.

Love / English Men vs Polish Men [207]

Technically we don't need men any more. We can have babies via a sperm bank, we can look after ourselves emotionally, physically, materially.

Who will carry the baby and all of those groceries? Who will open those impossible caps? Who will lift things that are heavier than you?

We don't need you either :)

Scientists have created prototypes made out of cells extracted from women's bodies. Embryos successfully attached themselves to the walls of these laboratory wombs and began to grow. However, experiments had to be terminated after a few days to comply with in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) regulations.

'We hope to create complete artificial wombs using these techniques in a few years,' said Dr Hung-Ching Liu of Cornell University's Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Infertility. 'Women with damaged uteruses and wombs will be able to have babies for the first time.'

LOL. Well, I love women so this would be out of the question for me. Kinda scary to think about what this world is coming to.

Realistically...we need each other :) That' nature

There are some many pale lagers in PL...EB, Okocim, Tatra Pils, Lech Pils etc......

anybody know tatra?

Yes. Not a bad beer at all.

If you like malt liquor. I just tried £omza ML last night. It was probably one of the best malt liquors I've tasted.

I still think that Bosman (Szczecin) on tap is the best in PL

One thing I can't understand is how some poles drink beer warm or hot. Two words that go great together are "Cold Beer".

I am surprised it is quite popular beer in general.

Very popular. And most of it is strong.

How is EB? It's one of the few that I've never tasted.

Food / What is your favorite Polish Vodka? [653]

spirytus is very good if you mix it half/half with water(boiled!) and add lemon juice and some honey

Yes. I have an old PL recipe for this. Except there is no lemon and it's aged. I use honey that I purchased outside Szczecin. Very tasty stuff.

Rafik- did they lower the alkohol content of Krupnik all over PL? When I was in south Pl it was changed to 38% but when in Poznan it was 40%. Here in the US it's 40% too. Do you know if it's been changed for good? I'm not sure if you drink it...just thought i'd ask.

HOT BEER IS JUST WRONG ON EVERY LEVEL

You can say that again. Even the thought of the warm last sip in a bottle makes me want to gag. It seems to be pretty popular there in the mountains. I was asking for a nice cold beer...even when it's freezing out it's refreshing to me.

Dangerous sport

I love danger :) I usually stay away from a-holes and head towards the trees and clifs.

Food / What is your favorite Polish Vodka? [653]

Yes. I love Zoladkowa!! It was the first one that I tried in PL. I got a bit too drunk because it went down way too easily...and so did I....Gleba :) I've recently tried the mint flavored but didn't like it as much.

Has anyone heard of the homemade method of making Wisniowka? I believe its pitted Wisnia soaked in Spiritus and some other things....

Bump :) any takers?

Love / English Men vs Polish Men [207]

i'd open a door for a lady if she'd blow me off, seems only fair.

Being blown off is when a woman or anyone for that matter, makes plans with you and doesn't show up.

So, in this situation you'd hold the door? Very kind of ya.

I think doors should be held for anyone. It's just being polite.

And don't try to act so cool. I doubt that you really let the door slam in the face of your co-workers or your family members.

Get some respect. Chivalry is not dead :)

think that most of the poles don't like flavoured vodka drinks

Nope. No one in PL that I know does either.

I have an extra bottle of spiritus and don't know what to do with it. I already have enough my special honey vodka. I'm sure I'll experiment with it and give it to my friends.

Travel / Warsaw or Krakow in October? [29]

I like both cities but if you were to spend more time in one I'd choose Krakow. Just because there are some great things to see but you'd need more time ie. Tatry mtns., Zakopane, Wieliczka Salt Mine etc. I hiked the Tatry in October and it was awesome. There was a bit of snow but it was a picture perfect day.
