News / What is the population of Poland's non-european minority? [142]

If multiculturalism is so great, why do the natives always leave a particular area when sufficient amount of foreigners move in(white flight)?

So again, you're deliberately fudging the issue to reflect your prejudices.

News / About fifty injured after two trains collide in Poland [73]

polish railway never release final conclusion of causes or even compensations for family

The only true part of that is that most accidents are caused by human error. Train accidents can and do happen anywhere and Poland doesn't have a particularly bad record in this respect.

I understand that one of the trains was on the wrong track which suggests the fault was with the signalling.

there was no head on collision - that one of the trains derailed before the collision is obvious from what they are showing

Here's the latest report in English.

Two trains have collided head-on in southern Poland, killing a reported 15 people and injuring at least 54, officials have said.

Both trains had been travelling on the same track towards each other and collided head-on, Andrzej Pawlowski, a member of the board of the state railway company PKP

More and more it looks like a signalling issue.

Give me an agreed upon definition of "multiculturalism" and I can answer that.

You could do a quick internet search.

The key thing here is that multiculturalism isn't the same as immigration by a long chalk.

you simply have to find one example in which multiculturalism has worsened a relationship, neighborhood, community or nation.

Now you wouldn't be confusing multiculturalism with anything else, would you...

Language / Perfective vs Imperfective - grammar [150]

Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong here please? I have 2 perfectives and only one imperfective.

The perfective/imperfective rules don't really fit verbs of motion - the grammar is different.

Law / Can I rent a house as an office in Poland? [9]

To be director not just proprietor of my own company, I must have a residence permit.

No. This is untrue. You do not need a residence permit to be a company director and in fact there are often strong tax advantages in not having one.

Travel / Money Exchange Offices with good prices in Poland? [13]

Just take it out the ATM as this works out cheaper,

Usually it doesn't. Though it pays to choose a good kantor.

One trap is when cash machines offer to pay out either at (your bank's) market rate or a fixed rate. Never choose the fixed rate, it is a scam.

Poland definitely needs more multiculturalism from non-European nations.

Multiculturalism always enriches and Poland has a long history of it - the current cultural homogeneity is a recent thing.

Language / Need Advice On Polish-English language barrier (my Polish boyfriend and his family) [59]

Never heard of it, and I live in what you call Poland B.

It's unusual nowadays but can still occasionally happen. If you actually are giving all the change as a tip it would be clear though from the tone of voice and hand gesture. Some tourist trap restaurants in Warsaw used to be notorious for this.

News / More anti Polish sentiment in western media ("Apple is worth more than Poland") [110]

You obviously don't live in the US and don't know anything about it.

You do realise that Poland isn't actually in the US...

it. If the author was comparing African Americans ghetto living standards to a third world country, it would be WWIII.

He wasn't.

But he thinks it's ok to slip in a slight mockery of Poland.

He didn't.

He just chose countries at random. Why should he treat Poland with kid gloves?

News / More anti Polish sentiment in western media ("Apple is worth more than Poland") [110]

Saudia Arabia and Sweden are both bigger and have been wealthier than Poland, wonder why he didn't put them in his title.

Why should he choose them rather than Poland? Why should anyone take offence at the article which isn't an example of 'anti-Polish sentiment at all'? Even though the very existence of this thread here suggests there is such a thing as Pol-Am internet paranoia.

UK, Ireland / WHAT IS IT ABOUT POLISH PEOPLE THAT MAKES THEM THINK THAT UK WANTS THEM? [309]

Somalia part of the commonwealth then Kangaroo? Yes , just as the sun revolves around our flat earth I have to agree

I'm sure you'll agree that British Somaliland was part of the Empire.

By the way, you haven't answered the question in the other thread.
