UK, Ireland / The more subtle differences: Ireland/Britain v Poland [310]

They say ignorance is bliss.

I say your stupidity stinks...

You sound a very bitter person.

What makes you say that? Not at all.

My point was that Polish cooking has nothing to offer in comparison which is as remotely enjoyable.

Got your point, but I traveled a lot in Poland and never was disappointed in their food and actually what you offer as a comparison is a farce.

You clearly don't know much about the Poles.

I know a lot. Still have friends there.

am of English/Polish origin

Grats for the polish part ;-)

Sure there are plenty of Brits who like to drink - but must drink for pleasure and not with the aim of getting drunk. That's why British pubs are such a great institution - they are a place for socialising whilst having a drink or two.

Your mechanism of seeing Polish and British drinking habits is called splitting. All you do is demonizing it. It seems you dislike your Polish half.

What about the vomiting and stumbling Brits coming out of 'the pub' not knowing where they are...?

Your average Polish man does not drink for pleasure as such, but to "impress" his colleagues through outdrinking them and getting themselves paralytic as fast as possible. It's quite educating watching them at it. I invite you to visit Poland and enjoy the real Polish drinking "experience".

Some kind of 'Western world' phenomenon. In Germany f.e. you can experience the same. What is your point?

News / People says that EU bringing many nice things to Poland. Tell me about it [104]

What are you guys complaining about???

Just talking. How is it in windy city? Who won there the elections? Illinois, right?

Big winners in EU

Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden.

Elaborate, please.

Big losers

United Kingdom

Poor Brits...hahaha

Perhaps you could enlighten us

I will try to do that since you showed some interest.

Watch this for the beginning.

Sascha need to to take a look at their own country

Man, for the 1.000th time. I am German and I criticize my country where I think it's necessary.

you wannabe Celt

Have a look.

Have you criticized Serbia where necessary? ;)

@SeanBM:
I am aware that Serbia is far from perfect, but of you here on PF are stubbornly following the cliche and the 'official truth' about Serbia.

I am introducing a different approach to the topic and counterweight to your narrow perspective.

He won't...you know...."My country right or wrong!"...

@BB:
That's the way authoritarian types like you think: 'Always defend your country.' No critics allowed.
Theodor W. Adorno was explaining by that the phenomenon of acceptance of fascism in Germany.
Imagine now 1939. You know on which side you would be. I myself would be definitely in exile.

Maybe that what I wrote is beyond your comprehension, but try.

kaznoad and sascha, you do realise that you are insulting each other over taste?

Good point SeanBM.

I'm not insulting anybody. Simplification just su**s.

Another case closed.

I guess not ;-) He's too obsessed.

Your ignorance of the subject is breathtaking.

Playing 'ping-pong'?

You mean this is your "natural" state?

I'm fine. Thank's for asking.

Perhaps you had the advantage of being able to return to your normal diet when you returned to your home.

Thank's again for your concern, but no, I did not need any diet when returning. I'm 2,00m tall by 95kg, still.

However, to suggest it is all good is total nonsense.

Never said that. I'm sure there is also lousy food, but to take Brits food for comparison which has almost nothing good, beside meat, that's annoying. Your simply not an agricultural country. Not known for it.

Don't kid yourself. If you actually lived in Poland you would soon find out what sort of real "friends" they are. Many Poles simply want to have some connection with somebody from the West because they may benefit from it. It's an unpleasant, but very real phenomenon.

'Nice' stereotypes in direction of the 'poor' Polish people. Sorry, but did you have 'bad' experiences? Did someone use or abuse you?

I can well understand why Polish women prefer English men

They surely have a problem then. Cannot see one good reason why that choice. Send the polish women to the Balkans...

My point was very clear. Poles do not drink for pleasure. They drink to get drunk.

Brits not? They are even 'gentlemen' while filling themselves up? Man, you see the world just in black and white. So full of stereotypes, prejudices about Polish people. Why do you live there at all?

they seem cultured in comparison to the usual apes available t them.

I thought that nickname is already given to the Brits=Islandmonkeys...

dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1262543/Five-thousand-British-students-spark-outrage-drunken-spring-break-Spanish-seaside-resort.html#ixzz0jroFqFYd

British 'cultured gentlemen'.

News / People says that EU bringing many nice things to Poland. Tell me about it [104]

No you're not, most Serbians agreed with the governments policies of ethnic cleansing, in fact they not only agreed, but carried out the policies with such a determination that it shocked the world...

dt, your full of sh1t. Your comments are just like playback of the well spread stereotypes.
Educate yourself and then come back here. If you do not have anything new or interesting to say about the topic hence lack of knowledge, better enjoy a beer or sth.

Just an example: Germans agreed with the politics of A. Hitler and policies of ethnic and racial cleansing, 'besides' the war. They even in fact not only agreed but actively carried out the policies with such a determination that shocked the world...

How does that sound to you?

So that's a 'NO' then :)

I saw you read my post but did not actually understand it. Try again, but for your simple mind:
Of course I criticize Serbia(politics, whatever) where it is necessary.

News / People says that EU bringing many nice things to Poland. Tell me about it [104]

Yeah, just bs, my comments come from people who served in Serbia and had to watch as Serbs entered villages knowing full well they would not encounter resistance if they murdered a few families.

Is that not also happening in the wars your country is leading? Iraq? Afghanistan? No civilian casualties there? Even friendly fire?
Did you have the chance to go to wikileak?

Oh god, you have just used the Hitler argument against me. Do you know what is commonly known as the "hitler argument"? When you have no other choice but to back your arguments up with .... what would Hitler do....

Your argument is blistering, as usual.

As you show so nice about your country Serbia...

I knew that merging 1989 was a bad idea. Once Ossi, always Ossi.

I still don't see any criticism of Serbia whatsoever from you, you are still criticising the E.U. and Germany in particular.
Perhaps you could point out a post of yours where you criticise Serbia?

Quoting myself:

I am aware that Serbia is far from perfect, but of you here on PF are stubbornly following the cliche and the 'official truth' about Serbia.
I am introducing a different approach to the topic and counterweight to your narrow perspective.

F.e.: I don't agree to the actual politics that much, but since the EU, US&A etc. brought Serbia that much on the knees, they do not have a choice. Resistance is sometimes not too bad.

If this was not an answer enough for your simple brain. O.K..

Since you and 99 % of your bunch here are constantly criticizing Serbia, it is for me not necessary to join. Since most of topics related to Serbia from your side other than the war and Serbian 'crimes' in the 90's is not coming up.

I'm trying to see the whole picture whereas you just repeat what the media says. Our position is different from the beginning.

You don't know what you are talking about.

Are you?
Since you do not have a fu**ink clue about Serbia, better stay out of that topic.

That'd be your whole one-sided Serbian has done nothing wrong, I will criticise the E.U. and the U.S. but not my beloved Serbia, even though I say I am a "German" picture?

Your brain has already 'memory overflow'?
I know the wrong things Serbs did during the war, but unfortunately my information are different, more objective, than yours.

I will criticise the E.U. and the U.S.

You don't? You just nod your head? Wake up, man.

UK, Ireland / The more subtle differences: Ireland/Britain v Poland [310]

You mean like your simplification that English food is bad?

Just a fact. English food IS bad.

I repeat. Your ignorance is breathtaking.

You're becoming a little boring ;-)

Just an observation. I imagine I am probably not the first.

Look closer. I'm fine. Thank's.

Your last sentence neither makes sense nor is it correct English.

Your simply not an agricultural country.

I think you should know you that I am the Pope.

!!??

I thought you lived in the UK - so how could that be?

Thank's, but I enjoy Germany.

Prom your posts it seems to me that it is you with the stereotype and prejudiced views.

Nothing special, if you don't consider more differentiation and other experiences like that.

youtube.com/watch?v=cuRIMBCLZ1Q
Funny clip, but lousy quality. Nothing special. What about 'your' guys in Spain? Nice. 5.000 drunken Brits in a resort. That's cultural exchange.

Perhaps it is you with the problem?

Are you projecting??

Thank you, again.

Where are you from? Not where do you live but where are you from?

DEUTSCHLAND.

Just show me where I critisised Serbia?

You are then belonging to the 1%. Lucky you.

A) you have yet to show any criticism of Serbia and B) show any of my information about Serbia being subjective.

1. For YOU I don't have to prove anything related Serbia, but if you want my opinion/standpoint/critics, I can help you.

In my opinion the politicians in Serbia should try to be more resistant to the EU/US&A, but since they are without power, it is hopeless. It would have been better to balance the politics more, like in YU times. Cooperation with US and Russia by maintaining its position.

2. Most of the info here on PF about Serbia is biased. Fact.

As I said if you like Poland so much and think you know it so well - why don't you live there? It's a rhetorical question as I can already guess the answer LOL!

Man, you are a real pain in the a**. Are you a fortune teller? Thought you are some sort of 'consultant'..
For me? I have my job and a good life in Germany. Why move?
Why do you live in Poland there if so many things are bothering you?

I talk from actual experience. You speculate and have a creative imagination.

It looks your experience is not so nice, partially. I simply made different ones while being there and cannot share your view.

Ever been to Italy and enjoyed the "company" of Poles. Better still - go to a Polish "football match" - that's if you are brave enough.

Ever seen your full drunk, coma like, lying on the streets in Palma de Mallorca? You should go there and observe. A good example for your country.

Just an observation. Is there a problem?

Projection, man. You're good at it.

@English'cuisine': I was in UK with an international travel group. French, Italian, German,... also tasting traditional English food. French and Italian were disgusted of it. Just observation.

Life / Any treatment centres for homos in Poland? [455]

It seems that simply 'gay marriage' and all the 'gay culture' have a harder time in slavic countries no matter what the local dominant faith is.

The promotion of the 'gay world' to me is a strict "western thing".

News / NGOs - activism or nest-feathering in Poland? [8]

Didn't say that they are all crap, but there is always a fine line, especially when politics are involved.
What they do in helping (Africa, Asia, Haiti etc.) after nature disasters is great, but politics are often messing up in other circumstances.

So you're admitting every Kingdom will fall but then quoting "we'll see" with regard to the US.

a) Nope. Of course it will fall.
b) Correct, it was directed to the US&A.
c) 'Kingdom" = US&A
d) My comment"we'll see" was directed to the point, who IS dreaming. You or him... ;-)
My guess it's you.

UK, Ireland / EXCHANGE RATES BETWEEN POLISH ZLOTY AND BRITISH POUND [73]

Banks=Jews, as far as Western banks concerned

The chinese "miracle" will get busted like the credit crunch and housing bubbles...soon chinese workers won't bow to the slaving anymore...there will be rising wages, a growing middle class who will influence the current regime...
They will come to adhere the same laws and duties as we have to do too...then we will see how they can cope without any unfair advantage as it is now! ;)

Don't be too sure on that. With the US eonomy on its knees, EU more struggling than enjoying its currency(Euro zone looks like patchwork these days), I personally don't see in the near or far future any economy which could keep their speed.

They are simply smart people.

yes. Bavarians are Slavs in origin

We are all one big slavic family ;-)

Lots of Bavarians are dark.. just sayin'.

Even in Germany they are considered to be a little special. I am from the northern part and they called me during my university time there "Prussian"(Preusse). ;-)

As far as the color is concerned, brown in all variaties, but that color is spreading slightly, unfortunately. ;-)

Euro union might have a chance but not euro currency.
Right enter German mark.

Maybe you are right. From the beginning the Euro looked to me artificial and just sth to fill the hole in the construction of the EU.

My guess is that the EU would be better of as a union for free trading and political alliance if every member would have his own currency. Those fluctuations like now were not common while the union was created. They had probably sth else in mind ;-)

I would gladly take the D-Mark back. This Euro looks to me still like monopoly money ;-)

Love / Good looking Polish women with ugly men [416]

@ you all: People, your loosing yourself in details. Who the frakk gives sth about the jaw of a man and all that other crapp. Is it THAT important? Boooring...

Better to talk about slavic and germanic women....
I traveled almost all over the slavic countries and had girlfriends there and in my experience(obviously I am not the only one), the average slavic girl and the average germanic girl do not have much in common regarding the looks.

It's quite tough to find a really pretty germanic whereas the slavic beauties seem to grow out from the asphalt....

@pgtx; Is there not sth more important than a jaw of a man? ;-) Shoulders maybe ;-)

@BB: Why did you post Kretschmann with an old picture? That one what you posted is 5!! years old. He's loosing his form like pizza pastry ;-)

Lost a little bit the discipline, he? Still he's an Ossi...

@ you others: What kind of jaws do you have? The typical 'escaping one to the throat' like the anglos??

To the topic. Obviously they have certain qualities which are very good hidden by the wardrobe they wear and the girls have a 'feeling' for that ;-)
