Each country has it's form of Wechsler's tests (similar, but in few subscales different Q's, and after standardization different norms) so questions are different in Serbia and f.e. Germany. I had an American guy who came for testing, he was raised in USA (born in Serbian family that migrated), spoke Serbian enough to communicate but I couldn't use Serbian version of test, or Serbian norms to categorize him, because he was raised in a different culture, and he can only be compared to his American, not Serbian peers. If I was like Lynn I could say using Serbian norms that he had borderline intelligence, but he didn't, he was compared to Americans (test has different questions) guy with the average IQ.

That is how it is supposed to be done.

Anyway Russians are quite fearless without vodka I think, although I didn't meet many who were not drunk or drugged. I spent one month with Russians who were mostly young artists, so I probably had inadequate sample. I felt like I'm in Bulgakov's novel. Super interesting nightmare.

It seems that they developed some tolerance to those substances because most of them even when heavily intoxicated had capacities to think quite clear.
One guy told me that his professor in directing school asked him will he ever have an opportunity to meet him at least half conscious. He finished 2 faculties with psychoactive substances in his blood.

I ran away, I couldn't manage that pressure to intoxicate myself.
But it was the time of my life anyway. Great experience.

That is ONE language according to not politically correct linguists in both countries. They have more than 80 or 90 % of shared lexical fund , so...tourist guide was not informed well.

If I put aside many easier solvable practical problems during communism (apartment, free education, health system, etc., not noticeable differences in SE status) I would say they were more fertile systems, totalitarian in less transparent way, so they were able to produce free thinkers, fresh ideas that were real opposition to those regimes, which was visible for me at least in arts like literature, movies....

Now I have to stop myself from throwing up when I try to choose a book in a bookshop. FUJ!

Solidarity is as a word and as a concept disappeared with fall of communism.
In Serbian you can rarely hear it nowadays. People are more selfish, competitive and life philosophy " Homo homini lupus est" imported from the West is dominating our minds. Souls are gone.

I don't like it because it lacks solid scientific foundation ( it's boring really to explain all that), problems if origins and it's use are highly problematic.

It's use is to discriminate people on blurry criteria.

The best operational definition of Intelligence is that IQ is something psychological IQ instruments are measuring. That sounds really bad. They don't have a clue what exactly that concept covers, and so on....

There are significant correlations between general intelligence and creativity, also with a sense for humor, charisma too, ppl actually fall for IQ. Mostly those surveys are not known, ppl are not interested in that.Same factor (general intelligence) is responsible for convergent intelligence (scientific, one solution for the problem), and divergent (more solutions for one problem, creativity). Preferred way of solving problems is something you develop during childhood.

People prefer to believe those are different traits (makes talent divine feature), but think if it's possible to be stupid with good sense for humor, or charismatic and stupid, what is with art? How can somebody unaware of his reality create something with artistic value?

I never saw that (only those kids who paint, but their expression lacks meaning which makes art really art).
I don't like concept of IQ and it's abuse, but I believe that same basic capacities are behind all superior achievements (scientific or artistic).
