Feedback / How many hours a day do you dedicate for PF and how often? [21]

How many hours a day do you dedicate for PF and how often?

It all depends on what I'm doing? Sometimes hours, sometimes minutes, sometimes seconds. (Some weeks I'm on, some months I'm off!) I guess it's all good when I don't have more important things to do, or nothing to get excited about, because when I have I'll be far away from the keyboard!

Love / Why do frustrated men ask silly questions about Polish women or girls? [42]

Why do frustrated men ask silly questions about polish women or girls?

I don't know, maybe you should ask them? Oh, you just did. (My bad!) But seriously, what makes you think they're all frustrated men? For all we know they're bitter old spinsters, or seven year old virgins who are curious about Polish chicks.. (Or girls who want to find out how certain guys feel about Polish chicks?) Or maybe, just maybe they're bored *stiff*.. (Literally!) Okay, I guess that's my intellectual contribution for today, so have fun and knock yourself out!

;)

Have fun!

UK, Ireland / Polish community in Northampton (any success stories / bad experiences?) [20]

that's a big leap from getting together with expats and comparing similar experiences to failing to assimilate.

Yeah, but you can't compare cancer patients to people who choose to live in a community. Hey, I don't know about your dictionary, but a community is something else than a sporadic meeting you know!

BTW, you don't have to parse and comment on my every sentence, the main subject gets quickly diluted this way.

Just tell me I'm annoying and I'll be happy. (And maybe I'll actually shut up.)

that's just silly.

Is it?

most of the time people move for economic reasons,

Really? And you think you'll earn more in comparison, if you take into consideration that the cost of living also increases accordingly?

but that does not change your taste for Polish food, or wanting to converse in your native language sometimes.

Computer? Skype? Telephone? Holiday? (No need to live in a Polish community!)

You seem to imply that people move from Poland because they don't want to be Polish anymore.

No, I'm implying you should make a conscience choice when you swap countries, and money alone isn't always the best reason to leave your country behind. Basically I'm just saying that it makes no sense to surround yourself with Polish people and all things Polish if you're planning to stay in England.

:)

Have I mentioned that it's okay?

News / Which modern developments harm Poland? [83]

Kaczmarski's lyrics says it all.

You should translate those lyrics for all the people who don't understand, but it won't change my opinion. Polish people are exactly the same as people elsewhere. (Generally speaking of course.) For those who still have a lot of growing up to do: Everything's been done before, so whatever you want to call modern isn't as modern as you think.

:)

Old news, really.

Which modern developments harm Poland?

None, because people will always remain people, no matter how conservative you want to make it sound. (Behind closed doors and all that!)

It's okay.

Why? If its to the total exclusion of all non Poles from your life, yes, that would be silly, but, here in my town there have been Polish and Ukrainian clubs since the 1940s.

So you think Polish immigrants who live in Polish communities are somehow going to socialize with English people more often than Polish immigrants who actually choose to live in English neighbourhoods?

There kids might hold their wedding receptions in the clubs but they all speak with broad Yorkshire accents and by todays generation its completly intergrated.

Hey, I'm just questioning the logic of wanting to leave Poland behind while wanting to remain as Polish as possible?

:)

Just for argument's sake, as usual!

I think it makes no sense to form Polish communities in Poland!

I beg to differ, especially in these times of individualization and disintegrated social cohesion, not even mentioning all the side effects wich labour migration has on communities throughout Europe. What's your point anyway? It certainly doesn't make any sense to expect your host country to be like home. I mean, if you want a Polish way of life in a Polish community then you should probably stay in Poland?

;)

I'd like to stress that it's okay.

Seriously, groups are formed so people can find others with similar interests, it may be Polish cooking, or polka dancing.

So you'd move to let's say.. England, to find other people who have an interest in Polish cooking?

I can't believe I'm actually explaing this...

I believe you.

Polish community in Northampton!!!

You know, hatred aside, I think it's ridiculous to form Polish communities in a country that is not Poland, and of course this goes for any group of people, belonging to any nationality, who reside in any other country than their own. I mean, I've heard a few lame comments about the Dutch and our so-called inability to adapt, but I guess the Polish take the cake these days? Seriously, I don't think it's very clever to migrate to a different country, and then pretend you didn't want to leave Poland?

;P

I am learning more of your culture every day!!!

They have the same culture as the rest of the Europeans, really. (Just a bit more Catholic!)

;)

It's okay.

UK, Ireland / ENGLISHMAN JAILED FOR MURDER OF POLISH GIRLFRIEND [47]

Of course this is unacceptable, but i don't think violence should be the answer. There are other ways to teach them a lesson.

I think it's you who needs to learn the lesson though, because you're the one who still doesn't understand we're all people, and that we all share the same ancestors. Instead of complaining about foreigners, did you know that white guys are extremely popular with Asian, Arabian and Indian girls? (Why not?)

And non-Caucasians don't traffick women? :D

It's a world-wide problem, so that's a yes. (Which just illustrates how much crime goes unreported!)

And if news story after news story confirms our view, we're supposed to keep silent?

Read my previous post? There are countless stories which never get reported. Just like a cop who gets drunk on the job has more news value than a citizen who gets drunk on the job would ever have. Same goes for minorities. You don't have to keep silent about men who are dangerous, but you *can* do that without tarring whole groups of people with the same brush, because skintone really has nothing to do with these kind of dramas. (It's all about Psychology here!)

I think nobody here on this forum is personally affected by this horrible murder, so it would be hypocrite to stop talking about choices of women and pretend that we can't do anything else than mourn.

Hey, you don't have to mourn her if you feel emotionally detached, but you could show some respect for life and people in general, wether they look like Vanilla, Caramel, Chocolate or Duo Penotti! (Men and women!) Feel free to talk about their choices - in a respectful manner - if you're honestly convinced that you're the better alternative for them, but please try to remember that it's *their* life and *their* choice to make. Conclusion: No, we can't do anything else but better ourselves.

All black irony very clearly intended you knuckle dragger.

I'm going to throw one hell of a party if he ever sees the light! I still have the faint hope that we'll welcome Jarno back to the human race one day! (I'm an optimist!)

UK, Ireland / ENGLISHMAN JAILED FOR MURDER OF POLISH GIRLFRIEND [47]

I've NEVER said that such things are acceptable.

Yes you did. You were talking about fishing in the wrong water being unacceptable..

I've only said that it's not smart to provoke if you know that some guys will answer your provocations with physical violence.

You were using a metaphore, but it still means you approve of such behavior, since you've mentioned that it makes you sick to your stomach to see foreigners who are ''stealing your women''. (Which is funny because you're foreigner in Poland yourself!)

So why are there so many news stories about Caucasian women hurt, raped, or even slaughtered by non-Caucasian males? The "racist" media i guess?

Do you know how many Caucasian males are involved in women-trafficking world-wide? You think such criminals never hurt, rape or murder European women? How many news stories do we hear, read and see which involve women-trafficking? Zero? Once in every while? (It still happens every day!) Feel free to draw your own conclusions.

Both the people involved in this murder were part of the moral plunge among people.

Jeez.. Here we go again! There's nothing immoral about sex. It's natural! You know, guys have a penis and they feel attracted to women in most cases, just like women have a vagina and they *actually* feel attracted to guys in most cases. (Oh no!! How Shocking! How Immoral!) I'm sure you can do the math??

Some people are honest, some aren't. Some people are loyal, some aren't. Some people believe in free love, some don't. Some people get bored with their partners, some don't. But seriously, when you're cheating on your girlfriend and you stab her to death when she says she wants to leave you, there just has to be something seriously wrong with you! So don't even *try* to compare certain people to murderers or call them immoral just because they have different ideas about sexuality. Thank you.

I'm shocked to read this and i wish her family all the best, but i don't see what's wrong saying things about her character and her stupid choices.

You've never known that woman personally, so why you feel the need to drag an innocent victim through your racist filth really is beyond me. Shocked? I seriously doubt that you and shocked are even known to eachother! You don't see what's wrong? Try this: It wasn't her fault that she got tricked into a relationship with a jealous, possessive and cheating man who *obviously* has mental problems, which is probably why she wanted to end the relationship in the first place..

Let this be a warning for Polish women who think about dating murzyns. It will usually end in tears if not death.

You're not using the murder of a young woman to spread your racist views, are you? Just in case you were; You really shouldn't do that, because it's about the lowest thing that a person could do.

Love / POLISH GIRLS... wake up and prove you are respectable.... [135]

The opposite. He is really from Pakistan.

Did you know that people from Pakistan are perfectly capable of writing English without spelling mistakes and grammatical errors? If it's not too complicated for you, then could you please explain to me why foreigners on Polishforums almost *always* are examples of bad grammar and behavior? (Unless someone is trying to stereotype them on purpose?) Maybe you should also try to keep in mind that most Pakistani guys are actually looking for a Pakistani or Indian girlfriend, due to culture..

Actually, women in western cultures have more freedom than men. Many times corporations have a preference for hiring women (affirmative action). Women have even more freedom in cultural venues as they have almost unlimited choices in fashion, can have drinks purchased for them, etc. As to law, I've previously given MANY examples of judicial favoritism in previous forums.

Nothing wrong with that. (For as long as the men are willing to buy them drinks!) I believe in equality just as much as you do, but maybe I word it differently.

You better don't work. You can't work with this head.

I prefer to use my head for thinking, really. Working usually is something I do with my hands.

;)

This is very low level what is going on in here. First of all does love have to be mixed up with race?? Does it matter what colour hair you have?

Yes it is extremely low. No, of course it doesn't have much to do with race, but good luck with trying to tell these dumbasses anything about love. (Or respect!)

The topic starter is talking about respect? I don't see any of that back in here. I just sense racism and hate..

Yeah, funny, isn't it? Me neither. I sense a whole lot of that too! (And I suspect I'm not the only one who does!)

Hope the level of this forum will not stay like this

I guess it all depends on who will stay and who will go.

Actually this is the level of intelligence of most pakis.

I take it you actually believe these fairytales? I mean, don't we all know it's some racist who's pretending to be someone from Pakistan, trying to convince the more gullible people of how evil everyone from Pakistan is? (My bad!)

Unbelievable degradation for white people.

Why do you care about white people so much? You're Greek. Mediterranean. (Not that *I* care!)

Sure, till girls reach certain ages, they are children, but, they all want to marry.

You really couldn't be more wrong, but maybe you should try talking to a couple of women who have been divorced or disappointed a few times? And plenty of girls are attending University these days because they actually prefer a career. Some girls actually like their freedom just as much as guys do. It's 2011, you know? (Not 1950.)

We are just not dignifying it with answers...

Which shows you have self-respect *and* class..

:)

I don't need to prove anybody who I am. I know it and the nearest people for me know it as well.

Really that's all you need to know, so nevermind these guys who are projecting their own insecurity on women like yourself.

we respect them and they like it...

Do you really?

POLISH GIRLS... wake up and prove you are respectable....

Then why are you telling them to wake up? Why are you telling them to prove themselves to be respectable when all they need is your respect? What do you think? That your idea of respectable behaviour is the only idea which should be respected? Are they not good enough for you the way they are already? (Think!) I mean, some girls want to get married, and some girls really don't. (Same goes for guys!) My point is that you should learn to respect them all the same.

USA, Canada / Think you're Polish (and live in the USA)? [161]

Its totally inconceivable to think greenhouse grown food could sustain a population of 16,000,000, what proportion of Holland do greenhouses occupy in relation to traditional outdoor farming, if its more than 1% id be surprised. In any case green house's are somewhat dependent on the weather.

64% in some areas, but 1% to 16% in most areas. 21% in total. (Average.) It depends on if they're open greenhouses or closed ones.

When you cant afford food its emergency action time. Some people ive known in Poland cant get the money for food, they just cant.

I know. I've known a few of such people myself. I've also paid someone's bills for three months, to prevent him from freezing to death in his own home. (Back when I actually had a pretty good job.) It only happened to me a few times when I found myself inbetween jobs, having to pay everything at once. (Bad timing.) I've never been broke for longer than two days though.

POLISH GIRLS...wake up and prove u r respectable....

How about you guys prove that you can and actually *want* to treat them with respect? See, a girl can *be* respectable, or pretend to be respectable all she wants, but isn't it true that guys should be *willing* to show them respect as well? (I mean, what's the point of being respectable if no one respects that?)

;)

Or am I missing something here?

USA, Canada / Think you're Polish (and live in the USA)? [161]

It isnt everything but it is a 100% necessity. Ive known Polish people with bare fridges and larders cos they couldnt afford decent food.

I know, my fridge has had an echo a few times. (Hopefully never again!)

Youre going to feed 16 Million from greenhouses? get outta here.

I should probably show you how *big* those greenhouses are.

This would be a small one. I'm actually 100% serious, you should see our greenhouse areas some time. Of course we still grow a fair portion of vegetables outside, but far less than we used to! Most of the food we harvest here is for export purposes, so..

Come on think about that a bit more.

I'm trying, but I still don't think Food Banks are necessary in such a wealthy country?

Neither does anybody else obviously, if the weather turned drastically, life is sustained via a very fine line. Its so fragile when you think about it.

Well, we're pretty particular about our water. I don't mean to sound arrogant, because you never know what might happen, but I know we're well-prepared for pretty bad scenarios where it concerns environmental problems. Life *is* fragile though, and there's no denying that. (But technology does offer some good solutions.)

:)
