Language / Polish was chosen the HARDEST LANGUAGE in the world to learn... :D [1558]

"It's raining cats and dogs" which means it's raining heavily.

"Put your thinking cap on" which obviously means to think carefully.

I blame out of date course books ...I noticed alot of speakers of english as a second language say stuff like this and have no idea that nobody in UK or US has used these idioms since about 1945

I just wish I had been "woman" enough at school to put my foot down and insist on doing technical drawing and Motor Vehicle Engineering which believe it or not we were barred from signing up for!!! These were the subjects that really interested me....shame really.

Dont you mean you said "non" ?? nobody asked the people of Algeria or Morocco or Martinique or Haiti or the rest of the French Caribbean or Guyana (to mention just a very few of your colonies) if they wanted their countries raped and their people terrorised did they?

As one of our American friends said here "You cannot have your cake and eat it".

Hence why something religious is appropriate, not money.

Of course, a good idea could be to give some religious items and make a donation to a Catholic foundation on their behalf - many churches will have their own foundations set up to help people in the parish

oh my my......how high your horse is....

My kids were furious with me for not making them catholics when they heard their Polish cousin had copped 800 zl for his first communion. 800 zl!!! Says it all for me about the catholic church really.

How many French cities etc were built on the spoils of empire?
Why is France so rich now?
How many civil and international wars were fomented by the French in chase of empire leaving how many people impoverished and homeless?
The very least France can do now is accept some of its ex subjects into the country. after all colonial subjects were forced to learn about "our ancestors the Gauls"!!

Besides even if you do choose to put retrospective words into my mouth, I am not "blaming people", I am saying that society in France today is reaping the rewards of past French government actions, and that is just tough.

Besides, have a look at that wiki link, it was hardly 50 - 100 years ago in many cases.

As for that dreadful thing of messing about with the chair at dinner as though the woman is so weak she cannot move it herself...it's just an insult.

And as for the gift thing..well I have this female friend who loves to be "spoilt" (as she calls it) by her men, and indeed would expect nothing less.......I asked her why he had given her his car,,she smirked and said it was becasue she was " good in bed". I found this disgusting as though we are all nothing more than w.hores. (mind u if anyone wants to give me a car, mines a BMW, thanks)

Oh maybe I told you before...my step grandfather was a soldier in the trenches in WW2, he returned to England after the war, and said "The Germans are all right, its those bloody stinking dirty Frogs I hate".

Agree with you Nathan...I think we have been perhaps too accomodating in parts of Europe.

btw wtf is a "slut walk"? My mum used this word in quite a different sense, as in "you little slut your room is a mess and you haven't washed your hair".....so maybe its a load of scruffy women??

How do you know that you don't have educated, secular, smart turkish citizens in France? Do you even know who is turkish or not or do they all look the same to you coz they all look somewhat arabic

of course registerdd is not interested in smart, educated ,integrated immigrants, they wouldnt fit into his own personal weltanshauung...:)

I believe that most European immigrants have finally settled in nicely. There are no problems, maybe a joke or two and that's that. But they do worry about too many non-Europeans

I see it is only about multi-kulti of Europeans

Ever heard of CLR James author of the "The Black Jacobins" and many other academic books, Viv Richards world class cricketer, Benjamin Zephaniah poet, Black women writers from America such as Maya Angelou and Toni Morrison, plus, perhaps better known, many famous musicians and contemporary TV presenters??

I was really not surprised to find out you are from India,,,your people hating Afro Caribbeans is a major source of racial friction and trouble in my city.

As for your comments about "mad drug addicted single mothers" the vast majority of single mothers of all colours are working hard to raise their kids as best they can.
