History / The Grunwald Battle: Today is 600th anniversary of the greatest medieval battle. [66]

It's a 48 to 1 ratio. Now, I could believe 1 Pole knocking out 10 Teutons.........

Maybe they are exagurated but I imagine that if you wound or capture a knight, all his "soldiers" are confused and either give up or are killed or are taken as slaves for which their master has to pay later. Get one knight and you actually capture his whole crew;)

Food / Do Polish beers contain adjuncts? [34]

When you say more extract, what do you mean exactly?

- eehh? that they have MORE extract? I don't know how else to put this.

Ciechan isn't that great, it smells like a hospital glove and is too sweet for my taste.

Ok, so you like porter. But light beers are different class, right? And out of this category Polish ones and Czech are the best. If Ciechan or £omża or Perła chmielowa don't taste you - don't drink it, but consider going to a doctor to check your sense of taste;)

Ok, but do not rely solely on wikipedia. It is not the most reliable source, just provides a lot of information that needs to be checked. Even historians are cautious with numbers in this battle. But mostly they don't argue it was the biggest - or one of the biggest.

Bratwurst, are you Teutonian decendant? ;) hahaha

Wikipedia isn't "solely", that's what many people don't get.

I know that, I happened to be an author of some articles in in too. But there are mistakes - it is not the most reliable source in all cases. Agree?

I as a pagan would not had been a natural friend but I love the uniforms!!! ;)

And since they are roman catholic more Poles could become members than protestant Germans...

My obvious joke turned out to be a bit dry:). Anyway, the Germans always seemed to have one of the best uniforms. Trendy and comfy;). Isn't Germany the country of Karl Lagerfeldt?

I personally admit that TO had cool coats and plate armors and those heavy swords.

a pagan

- I just love it when someone calls themself a pagan. Are you using this just as a synonym for atheism or you mean really pagan??

Food / Do Polish beers contain adjuncts? [34]

Yes, but I can appreciate a good pils. Brackie is good :) Perla is disgusing. Try to drink it at anything but freezing cold. Lomza smells like ****. Ciechan isn't horrible, it's boring considering it's unpasteurized...but why drink mediocre beer?

- Seriously, man, visit a GP. There must be sthg wrong with your senses of smell and taste;)

Kutna Hora

- Czerna Hora?

The local brewery seems to have died off here.

- there are some still, but it is true they are endangered species...

Sure, explain it.

- I am looking on some bottles and compare what they've written there, e.g. 14% extract, 12% etc... And what is strong in Czech Rep. is weak in Poland.

Perhaps you'd better able to taste beer if you removed your head from your anus.

LOL!
I think we have exploited the topic with the following resolutions:
1. Polish beers are healthy and potent, no adjuncts.
2. Convex doesn't like those beers, only porters I guess. Which is fine.
3. Convex has to go check his senses or remove his head from... [hey, I didn't say it!] ;)

Don't take it as offence Convex, it's your opinion, others rather disagree as I do.

History / The Grunwald Battle: Today is 600th anniversary of the greatest medieval battle. [66]

Also while TO were the equivalent to medieval Nazis they didnt kill people because someone was German or Polish, they killed people because someone was opposed to them, they killed thousands of Germans as well as Poles.

not sure about numbers on the killed Germans but I can surely say they killed more Poles. Do not make it equal.

a small dick problem do not ease this frustration on forum in this manner,go to doctor of find yourself a understanding asiatic girl

- oh, you shouldn't touch this tpic;))
And about Asian girls, that is completly off-topic [but someone can start a thread on it] unless somone tells me how many Asians [girls mainly] fought in the Grunwald battle:)))))

Sadly finding any kind of asian girl in Poland aint gonna happen :(

- WHAT?! where have you been looking? Plenty of them in Kraków.

I like a good pale lager. A GOOD pale lager.

Well, then come over to Kraków, bring your good stuff, I'll bring mine and we'll meet somewhere in the middle;) with this opinion, ha!

Life / As EuroPride visits Warsaw - is it the start of overdue social change in Poland? (homosexuality promotion) [144]

Amathyst dear, I do not give a crap what you believe.

Harassing people all day, like you do, is not compensation for your ignorance, plk123.

Yeah well, go fcuk yourself. Who gives a shyte what a troll like you has to say?

- I see this dispute has reached the common level of mutual respect and exchanging logical arguments. That's why I stopped posting anything this topic couple of days ago as everyone had already used all real arguments.

Study / Learning Polish at Adam Mickiewicz University [11]

As an American I have lived in Poland for more than 7 years - and to be honest, Poznan wouldn't be the place to go.

- ha ha! And Cieszyn would be the place to go, right? 7 years of experience in Poland with what educaton [?], being a native English speaker, gives you better qualifications than philologists at university in your opinion? WOW, you are great!

You can come to my school in Cieszyn

- Put this post to classifieds, because it is an advertisment (not convincing at all actually, after you've been questioning university teaching on your advantage...

I guess security clearances do not mean a thing :)

- Oh, you are so wrong. They can look into you with surprising meticulousness.

Study / Learning Polish at Adam Mickiewicz University [11]

and you'll know what a foreigner needs in terms of language, much better than a philologist at university

- I cannot agree. Being a native speaker gives you only an advantage in conversations. But grammar - not. Imagine yourself trying to explain to someone intricacies of grammatical issues of your mother tongue, then compare it with a languare you learnt (not acquired) - this will give you more of my views on this.

Work / Resignation fee in Poland - any way to avoid it? [21]

A lot depends on the contract. There are legal ways to escape from paying however. But I can't advise until I know you're not e.g. a "jumper" and that you have real reasons for this. And reading your posts I can refrain from asking: why are you planning to quit after this short time?

Life / Reactions to death in Poland [4]

- That's unbelievable. Looks like someone wanted to make sure the deceased won't be able to come out. Reminds me of "concrete boots". I haven't been to a funeral such as you describe, but mostly it were priests who spoiled the ceremony - by mistaking names of the deceased, by saying improper things etc. The rest was always fine.
