Returning to Poland. Where should I go?

So finally I have some plans to return back to Poland. December is the date but as of yet I've not decided where I'm going to go back. My heart of course says Krakow, but my head is telling me that I should experience a new place, of course I can always return to Krakow if things don't work out elsewhere. So my question to the forum is this; Where should I go? And also a big What should I do? Simply I don't think I could go back to teaching. I hit the wall with that the last time and although I'm still contracted to a company in Krakow, it doesn't take up too much of my time so I would be looking into doing other things.

So any suggestions would be great, I have the experience from last time, but sometimes its better to ask an outsiders opinion :)

Have you considered some form of telecommuting? Not necessarily for a permanent post, but some form of freelance working that doesn't tie you to a geographical location? Things one can do include:

- Copywriting
- Translation
- Software testing
- Proofreading

As a sole trader you can be more tax-efficient than an employee...

That's the job I have with the company in Krakow :) Boring as hell but pays a sh1t load and I can work from home anywhere. Thing is a days work wouldn't take me more than 3-4 hours, but I'm a kinda workaholic so need to think of stuff that gets me out the house.

But great suggestion :)

I create instruction manuals for an international company. Also used as a consultant when they need me to deal with things with English speaking companies.

you could always become a stay home daddy... or work in a bar... or give private lessons... or sell precels on Rynek... or you could work as a Lajkonik!

but it's all if you move back to Krk... or just move to Nowa Huta, some people say that Huta ain't Krakow...

;)

That would mean I would have to have a child ;p are you offering my Texan friend :P

but it's all if you move back to Krk

Thats it, Krk is last place to think about. I know I will have various job offers there if I go back. But maybe I want to do and see something different :)

Huta ain't Krakow

Huta isn't Krakow, Huta is the cool part that I love to bits. Not full of fake people :P

define "a sh1t load". depending on how much money we're talking as well as maybe how old you are, just do it for the cash and save for something later down the line. then if you have to take a cut in pay when you move on to something else, you'll have a nest egg already built up.

just sayin'.

a sh1t load

Enough for me to renovate my places in Ireland.

I already have my nest egg, just looking for some new experiences :) I like to try out different things. But you also make a good point :)

I have it. Isn't some one on here wanting a "light-housekeeper". I bet you haven't done that before :-)))

All that lovely sea air :-)

Haha cheeky git :) I have enough of that to do in my own place, let alone move to another country to do it :D

man, i'm in the wrong profession.

anyhow,

honestly, it depends what you want to do. you have cash, so if you want to just come here and travel and use Poland as a base, Warsaw/Krakow may be a good choice just because of their airports.

i'm in wroclaw and flying out of this city sucks. i can't get a direct flight to the USA, and outside of the major cities, direct flights are also often times not available. i looked into flying to Amsterdam last month, no direct flights out of Wroclaw, and door to door would be something like 8 hours and at least $250 USD.

if i had that kind of cash though, i'd probably avoid poland altogether.....at least go somewhere that's warm most of the year.

jablko: What is wrong with Warsaw.

dtaylor5632: You can always go to the Scandic or even Moscow
you dont have to Re-Experience Poland..
