I'm not a Brit but I'm curious how catholic fundamentalism is going to create this Utopian society. Moral solution to an economic problem? Sounds like regressive jargon from post-soviet thinking. I think a lot of people here have just lost the plot and are blinded my hatred and xenophobia.

I heard this line before. Even on interpretations of Homer's Iliad. Overcooked people and undercooked.
Maybe the Chinese and their Asian style capitalism will take over in the future, but not because the West got soft and stopped believing in the pie in the sky, but simply got undermined by a more ruthless version of the same system. And if the Chinese ever do arrive in their tanks, they will also consider Poland as the west--- the bible belt of the European west. You'll be eating curry bigos.
The West as we know it is now in the intial phases of that inevitable final stage, but no-one knows when or how the ultimate collapse will occur (probably in stages?) and what civilisaiton will fill the resultant vacuum. The betting is on east Asia, but that is only a speculation.

Apart from not being Polish what else do you have against Putin and his regime in Russia? Do you support radical conservatism in Russia today? Would you like to see a similar situation developing in Poland? If not, how would your version of Polish conservatism differ to Putin's?
One may disagree with their pro-Semitic, anti-Polish and anti-Catholic editorial policy but technically it's a decent rag.

A young man next to a poster claiming that Muslim immigrants constitute a "Trojan pig" unleashed a profanity-laced screed about the educational opportunities offered to Ukrainian youth, then noted that these "Arabs have mobile phones, so they're not poor". His marching companions agreed.
The rhetoric was harsher still at a rally in Gdansk, where demonstrators chanted "We will do to you what Hitler did to the Jews."

I think the PIS heads are like their Russian counterparts(Putinites). One is obsessed with what they term the post-communists and the latter with the Fifth column. Both are just regressive forces nostalgic for the past; which was Stalinism.
Even if its in the guise of anti-Stalinism, it's still the same game. Hence the similarities of the two countries with the rise of ultra conservatism; Putin and Kaczyński.

Moral decline. Tories just trying to appeal to UKIP supporters. I suppose the moral decline according to UKIP is due to all the Poles that came into the country trying to escape the catholic paradise.
With the Polish Taliban coming to power in the next election, I reckon even more Poles will be running for the godless UK.
For all its shortcomings, the Judaeo-Christian ethical system is based on common sense, advocates restraint, provides stability and has helped to calm the precarious, oft-turbulent waters of the modern world.

I mentioned to a an old Polish mate the other day, that the drivers here are still as much maniacs as ever. His reaction was that I should have got use to it by now. Different culture he told me. I changed the topic, as the anger was starting to come out my ears. Use to it WTF!!
The worst being few weeks ago, when I was in the middle of the crosswalk with my baby son. Instead of slowing down, the car that was really far away enough not to stop just decided to accelerate. That was a close one.

It will be bordering on the impossible to stop the maniacs on little country roads etc. Big brother could never stretch that far; it's up to people to adopt a community attitude and show a bit of respect for humanity and stop acting like Neanderthals behind a wheel.
As for the cities and towns: Passengers need to report bus-drivers if they are driving like bandits. There needs to be much more cameras, much more police on the road, triple the fines. And incurable maniacs should be removed from the roads and even jailed. Severe measure will have to be taken if there is ever to be a visible improvement. jail the b******s

There seems to be a general will here among the public to defy rules, everyone against everyone.I heard a guy on Polish radio recently describe the present and ongoing madness on the roads here as trickling down of the neoliberalism mentality mixed with communist times. I'm not sure what to think.
In my village even the locals drive over a 100km per hour in their "own village" populated by their "own children". They just don't give a fock. Have you been to Ukraine(?) they ask.
