Life / Smoking vs. Grilling on Balconies / High Rises in Poland [66]

frd, do you live in Poland?
I ask, because I cannot imagine a Pole with such a atitude. One just not call for the police on one's neighbour. Cops are the common enemies of the simple, law abiding folks. I'd rather try to beat up (or even kill ;-) )the neighbour then to put some cops on his head. Some things just too vicious to be even considered.

News / Polish President Lech Kaczynski and gov officials die in a plane crash in Russia [682]

If Kaczynski was alive, he would not keep silence, that I am sure of. That's why Russians killed him in the first place.
And common practice? What common practice. Commone practice when planes with the president on board crash?
Common practice when the plane crash on the forein soil? I'll ask again. When the Russian SU 27 crashed, did the Poles grab the black box? Or Russians had taken it away, without even showing it to Poles?

Why Russians did not give the black boxes to the Poland right away? For what reason they were "examinig" them? This was not theirs president, Polish investigators should examine the crash site, not the Russians. The answer is obvious to me. They wanted to falsify the records. To hide the evidence. C'mon, when Russian SU 27 crashed during the air show, on Polish soil, did Poles chased off the Russians from the crash site?

Russians killed Kaczyński, no doubts about that in my mind.

"Ryby sobie łowię"
Police on my head, because I dared to do something on my own balcony? If it is not the police state, I dont know what is.

One can live on good terms with one's neighbours, or not. It's everyone's own choice. Suck up to your neighbours or pyss them off and live on with conequences. Police has no place in it. In a free country, that is.

News / Nuclear Power in Poland? Yes, please! Absolutely nobody disagrees! [73]

Sure, there are some more or less viable alternatives to the nuclear energy. But why bother with developing any alternatives when proved, simple, cheap nuclear plants are perfect solution anyway.

And nuclear plants do offer to Poland the best way torwards our own nuclear weapons, wich we do need desperately. Can be something like that be told about hydro turbines or solar panels? How?

Food / Poles prefer pizza & kebab? [64]

But why choose between fastfoods when you can eat the proper diner? There are normal restaurants too, you know.
And how to eat the burger without dropping half of the stuffage down to the floor. Who is able to open his mouth that wide anyway...

Food / Poles prefer pizza & kebab? [64]

Kebab, this thing I dont like. Neither any McDonald food (they have a nice coffee though).
Pizza is the different thing. Pizza and ketchup are the only foreign foodstuffs that I started to like one day. And both go together just great ;-)

Life / WHY DO POLES USE ENGLISH WORDS IN CONVERSATION? [396]

So Heineken. Yes, it looks better that way. It is just misstype, I guess.

Besides, the world changes, there are new things, that needs to be named somehow. That's why Poles have komputery, twarde dyski and interfejsy. Sure, one can call the last międzymordzie, but for what end?

Language / Calling a person a 'potato' (ziemniak/kartofel/burak) [37]

"Burak" is not someone frome a village. But it is derogatory.
The meaning changes with region, I guess. In Bielsko "buraki" are driving Volskwagen Golf with dark windows and listen to the loud music while in traffic."What a burak!"

News / Nuclear Power in Poland? Yes, please! Absolutely nobody disagrees! [73]

Eh, Chernobyl. An emotional argument. The sheet happens. The cost of the progress?
Anyway, Chernobyl was the Russian stunt. What else can be reasonably expected from Russians? If Poland was to use Russian "technology" I would be somewhat anxious, I admit.

If humanity is to go into space, to colonize the other planets, we need to master the nuclear energy first. And it is about time for Poland to stop to lag behind. We need to become the vangard once more. It is about time for us to recover from the partitions and stuff...

News / Nuclear Power in Poland? Yes, please! Absolutely nobody disagrees! [73]

I, for one, am happy that there are to be the nuclear power stations in Poland. It is cheap. It is safe. It is clean. And I did not heared any reasonable arguments against it. The nuclear energy' haters always go all emotional and I turn off my attention at once.

Life / Smoking vs. Grilling on Balconies / High Rises in Poland [66]

If someone woluld call me sophisticated I'd be offended. Hell, I can even buy the grill to appear as unsophisticated as possible.... Am I the victim of some sort of antisnobbery, a reverse snob? I noticed it recently, if something is considered "cool an sophisticated" I do tend to do just the opposite...

Food / What's your favorite Polish beer? [870]

The Brackie beer. As a matter of fact, I just finished the 8th bottle. Goes great with the yellow cheese. Or Koźlak. Or Piwo żywe. Good night.

Love / Demands from Polish ex! [75]

Wildover:

A Pole has to tell the Englishman what what a gentelman is supposed to be? What happend to this world?
If the lady tells you that you owe her something, you do owe her. Even if you do know for sure that you don't. And you never, ever, doubt that female is the lady. Even if you do know for sure that she is not, you behave as if she was the lady. As if there was not a shred of doubt about that.

Unless you are not the genteman but just a macho. If so, I do pitty you.

USA, Canada / Do Poles feel America is going down the drain? [149]

The future of the America is deciding itself right now. Will it fall victim to the socialists and collapses or shakes off the Obamas of this world and survives, it remains to be seen. US has made the first steps down the road torwards the communism, torwards gulags, hunger and oppresion, but it still can save itself.

Life / Bilet, controler and the Poland Police. [78]

In Poland, when you are over seventy. At the very least it is the case in Bielsko- Biała. On buses. Rush hour or not. The trains, they pay 1/2. My father crossed this line a year ago. Not sure about trams, as there are no trams in Bielsko.

Life / Are Polish ppl capable of revolting? [41]

If there was some good reason...
But I dont see any. Sure, the government seems to be composed solely of thiefs and morons, but that is kind of expected. I cannot even imagint it otherwise.
