Love / Is Indian/Polish relationship possible? [370]

When you stop leaving your country in droves, people will have a different opinion, until then, you will have a reputation..

I have no respect for ppl who disrespect others, just because others have to leave their country in order to have a decent life. And I can only laugh at the reputation some foreigners give to my people, really.

I have Polish friends who dont have good word to say about Poland...how shallow are they?

that's very shallow of your friends. As a Pole, I wouldn't even want to talk to your friends. I have always been, and always will be proud of being Polish and of my Polish heritage - that's the way my parents and grandparents raised me. Although, I understand that some people, your Polish friends included, have not been blessed with a family like mine, I'm sorry for them.

Nika doesnt have millions of mulsimes in her country so she can be forgiving..

Nika has lived among them for many years, and knows them better than you. That is probably why she is forgiving.

Love / Is Indian/Polish relationship possible? [370]

when I was new to this forum I was shocked as well. They are just as disrespectful towards Poles, you know. They believe that being born in Western Europe makes them better, more human, they think that they are worth more than others and know better - how stupid, shallow and wrong is that?

It's an internet forum, so they feel free to say just about anything. In reality, they wouldn't dare to open their mouth and talk like that! They would be too scared of potential consequences.

Anyway, welcome to the PolishForums faizeeekhan, hope you will stay with us and join the bright side of the force :)

Europeans should stick to europeans.

stupid people should stick to stupid people, bad to bad and good to good. That's the way I see it....

Love / I don't know if she's married and I don't speak Polish - help me romantic folks [55]

You do? Now why would that be? (I'm not a guy you should envy really!)

I do envy you! I would give a lot for a little sunshine and nice, warm weather, really.

I mean, surely it'll be Spring for you aswell soon enough?

I don't know about that, I lost all my hope...

I guess this is a classical case of how great minds think alike?

you are being lovely again Arien!

Enjoy nice weather, póki możesz - I hear weekend is going to be cold again.

Travel / Poland from a Persian Tourist's Perspective [269]

Alot of users on here have polish sounding usernames therefore I was expecting them to be polish bigots and not someone else.

Don't worry, you are not the only one to have been misled.
I guess the best way to find out if someone is Polish or not, is to check his profile. If it says that the person speaks Polish, than he's most probably a Pole (or a foreigner, who speaks Polish, but it's rare).

Torq help! Any other way you can think of???????

Do they live in Poland?

No they live in Belgium. That's where I got to know my friend. I'm hoping she'll come to visit me here in Kraków soon.

BTW She loves Poland and Polish ppl (she's already been to PL before) :)

VERY feminine looking.

Iranian/Persian ppl in general are good looking, but their women are wow.

I've seen some Iranian women and some are really hot.

Iranian women are one of the most beautiful women I've seen! And they know how to take care about their looks - have a very good taste in clothes, make-up, are in fashion.

Life / Polish "Mall Girl" Culture? [125]

“If you want to be cool and accepted at school, you need to have a good cellphone, designer shoes and a boyfriend. You are judged by how you look,” she said. “For sure, I don’t want to end up with a sweaty ugly guy.”

I'm having a déjà-vu!

The girl went to the same American high school that I did, or what?
No, it's impossible, that was a looooong time ago.....

So, in 90% of the cases you are dealing with non-Polish posters here.

100% agree with Torq, PLEASE Darius bear in mind that the vast MAJORITY of ppl positng on here are not Polish, but American, British, Canadian, some Germans, French, Dutch and one Greek-Freak.

You are not the first person, who is misled by the name of the forums, thinking that all the nasty, disrespectful things, are said by Poles!

we're Persians not Arabs.

As if I heard my best friend - she is Iranian as well! I also got to know her parents - great people from Teheran. Under the Shah, they were both in the Iranian army, unfortunately had to flee the country after the Iranian Revolution. They've told me a lot about your country, which got me into liking it, without really knowing it. Also, I was with all my heart with Iranian ppl during the last June's demonstrations, really!

Life / You are Polish if... [433]

You are Polish if.... you take food out of the fridge....stuff it up your nostril , before stuffing it up the nostril of a relative or guest , and then returning it to the fridge....

hahaha, now you gave a relly good laugh!

I guess they are checking its fresh and edible , but i have never seen anyone from another country pass it around to others to confirm its ok to eat...?

Yes, it is to confirm it's fresh and ok to eat. OK, I confess - I do it as well! Maybe not up the nostril of a guest (unless I know the person very well) though.

Very good observation wildrover!

Life / Doctors taking bribes in Poland [76]

do you mean we are all Dulskie from Zapolska novels?

Call it whatever you want TIT.
I'm going to repeat after Torq "Zły to ptak, co własne gniazdo kala". That's how I would call it.

Again, that's just the way it is, there's no hidden, bad intentions or racism to it guys!

Life / Doctors taking bribes in Poland [76]

We have a saying in Poland - "Zły to ptak, co własne gniazdo kala", which roughly translates to "It is a bad bird, that shi*ts to his own nest".

I speak Polish well enough to know what that idiom means but you feel
that you can only discuss it with Poles? Isn't that lame? I'm surprised, Torq.

I see very well what Torq means. And you are right Seanus, we discuss certain things only among Poles.
That's just the way it is.

Life / Why Do You Love Poland? [907]

Poland would be nicer if people would smile more, be more honest, not so competitive, not so pushy, work harder, wouldn't think about the past all the time, not drink and smoke so much, wouldn't steal and open up a bit about their feelings instead of keeping everything to themselves and let their problems eat them up then find relief in drinking vodka. Then Poland would be nice.

Urszula, have you, by any slightest chance, noticed that the thread is about why you love Poland? There is another thread about why you hate it - why don't you go and post on there?

I love Poland for the smell of fresh bread in the morning in nearby sklep spożywczy, for strangers who give me 20 groszy, when I don't have enough money to buy a bus ticket, for old ladies&gentlemen who talk to me in the very bus, for my rental agency lady, who offered me to stay with her, the time she finds an appartment for me.

I love it for it's culture, traditions, religion, cuisine, beer, vodka, beautiful women & nature & places etc.
I love it because sometimes life here is so crazy and chaotic - I'm never bored.
I love it, 'cause Poland is what made(in Polska) me who I am!
ha!
