Life / Poland = Broken country? [17]

balatun
What do you know about Poland? You haven’t traveled much have you? Still living in your mother’s basement and never been outside your immediate neighborhood. I see that reading stupid articles on the net improved your world view. If you really want to learn about the world you have to get out once in a while but that requires money, which you obviously don’t have either. Get a job, travel some and in couple years you might discover for yourself what the world looks like. I’ll let you in on a little secret, cut the bushes down in front of your basement window; for fvck sakes you can’t even see the street you live on. I know it’s not much but it’s a start if you want to learn about the outside world.

Life / COMBATING "POLACK" JOKES [460]

Yeah...hence the name "National SOCIALISTS".
Or as one famous Nazi once said: "Polish jokes are opium for the masses"

Communists must of have got hold of the copy of that playbook, you’ll be surprised how many German jokes are out there.

Big disapointment Wieczór kawalerski is now cancelled.

Since when a little detail like that stopped Wieczór kawalerski from happening. You can tell the groom all about it later.

Off-Topic / CEE - Central European Empire [49]

Well, since the Russians and the Americans are on my side

Rumor has it that wherever they go they leave no stone unturned, guests or not. Might makes right you know. Besides Americans are looking for piece of real estate to replace Guantanamo and Russians would love to have another little enclave more conveniently located. Netherlands I weep for thee.

The first is already on its way.

How odd, this one malfunctioned, heading straight for Amsterdam. Could it be the guiding system? This one was made in CEE, outsourcing is a bi***.

History / Thinking of changing Wikipedia's Holocaust article to include genocide of Poles. [78]

...And again a thread about "ahwww look at us, poor Poles, we have been so mistreated in the past, it nearly makes me cry".

I only Jews have the right to bi*** how they have been mistreated, imagine that someone else dare to speak up.

oh look, there is another moron who is paranoid enough to think that it's an evil scheme set up by Jews in order to destroy the Poles. Thank God most ppl don't take that drivel not serious anymore.

I think your scheming back fired on you, but that’s just my opinion. Looky here, masks98 is not Polish, there goes your theory. I would argue that the ability to freely travel educates people and they are just waking up to the reality and the true history.

If you try to change it, you are dishonest towards history.

Perhaps the term unbiased would be more appropriate in this context.

If you think it's necessary to keep nagging about it, invent your own term.

That’s just it, irishlodz is right you seem to hijack the term same as in case of ‘pogrom’ , can’t even come up with something original that would reflect as something truly Jewish.

Actually, that is not correct. Holocaust = Jewish, Porajmos = Gypsies. Now find your own term.

Actually, that is not correct, neither Holocaust nor Pogrom is your term, now find something more original instead of changing the definition of existing words.

doesn't know what's going on but gets "Pissed off"

Reading your response I have to say it describes you to a tee, now to paraphrase you. What the fcuk is wrong with you?

History / Thinking of changing Wikipedia's Holocaust article to include genocide of Poles. [78]

As every Pole, I feel bitter that polish victims are often forgotten but let's not pretend that we had it "just as bad" as Jews, it's a lie. A lie.

We might as well be truthful to ourselves, most Jewish victims were Poles but somehow this fact eludes all, they always describe themselves as Jews forgetting the fact they were Polish citizens, some separate entity to diminish the number of Polish victims. When we speak of victims we should speak of Poles but if you really need to make the distinction then Polish Jews would be appropriate, same for other Jewish victims Hungarian, French etc., everything else is a lie.

Slave labour was for all of the occupied countries since most men were on the front (after the war was lost it was for Germans to go on slave labour) and so on.

Somehow I doubt it, political opposition and undesirables perhaps. As for it being nothing but propaganda well that’s your opinion. Even today I see Poles putting canals on Russian and German soldiers graves, displaying humanity is not the same as agenda or policy of a regime in power. I never said all Germans are blood thirsty beasts.

History / Poles and (Polish) Jews... Victims of war... and beyond [301]

If you want to incorporate the Polish victims, you for sure have to incorporate the Russian victims as well.

Hogwash MG. If anything is going to be incorporated it’s the Jewish victims. First and foremost all the civilian casualties during the war were citizens and nationals of various European countries be it Polish, Russian, Hungarian, German what have you, they were the citizens of those countries period. Yet when it comes to the Holocaust issue all of a sudden it’s THE Jews. What’s that all about? Did the religion of a Polish, Russian, German citizen elevate to the status of nationality? I don’t think so. There was no state of Israel at that time either, so in essence one could argue that the only victims of the Holocaust were the civilians of various European nations and be counted as such. Furthermore, I will argue that the focus was mainly on Poles with extreme prejudice towards the ones of certain religious belief.

"Pogrom" on the other hand, is a Russian word to discribe specifically the murder of Jews.

You couldn’t be more wrong. That’s the twisted distorted recent definition of a word as borrowed into English language to mean just that. The word ‘pogrom’ had many meanings, most common was ‘total military defeat over ones enemy ‘. It wasn’t until 1880’s and 1890’s when it took on this meaning as well when a series of anti-Jewish riots swept Russia. Even the Jewish newspaper of the time ‘Izraelita ‘ referred to them as the ‘events that recently took place’ not ‘pogrom’ which now is synonymous with ‘Slaughter’.

hadn't done anything than being a Jew and unlike ANY group of victims of the Holocaust didn't have any other choice than to die

So did the mentally retarded, homosexuals etc., what makes one group special above all others to be counted as separate entity yet other groups counted as per their nationality, citizenship?

Love / Polish girls attitudes towards sex. [568]

mariemarie93 This does not belong in Relationships, Marriage section but rather in science fiction section. Too bad we don’t have one here but if you ask admin to set one up nicely he might be inclined to accommodate you. Polish AL-Qaida indeed! Was there ever such a thing?, or can there ever be? You don’t know much about Poland do you? Looking forward to read the next chapter of your fantasies, Wow! May I suggest something more sexually explicit; more people might be intrigued by the subject matter and actually believe it, in any case you will have more readers that’s for sure.

it was implied that a Polish citizen, without mentioning of any rights to stay in the US, joined the US Airforce.

Actually foreign nationals living legally in the U.S. on non-immigrant visa but temporary worker visa (H1-B visa) are recruited by US armed forces as of Feb 2009 with a promise of granting all those who are willing to fight for Uncle Sam US citizenship in as little as six months.

But you still seek someone who can speak local dialect of the enemy that you fight, someone who has good understanding of local culture etc. Anything that will give you an edge. It’s been done since ancient times. Do you honestly think they did not recruit the so called defectors back then? Enemy or not, even if he was Soviet citizen, you simply expedite the process of his citizenship, have him as an adviser whatever and keep a close eye on him in case he might be a double agent. You still take a risk.

Language / How do you add and 'ing' to the end of the verb in Polish? If you do. [17]

e.g. 'Idący na ulice.....'. Sure, it's not super common, yet IS grammatically correct under given circumstances, no?

No, that should be 'Idąc ulicą' or 'Idąc po ulicy'

Yo hablo = I speak and both only '(Ja)mówię' in Polish cf. '(Ja) mawiam', possible yet unlikely.), has no '-ing' equivalent or even a continuous form.

Bag to differ 'Ja tu teraz przemawiam' I'm speaking now.

Polish therefore has indeed its own "spin", so to speak, on English '-ing'. It's simply reflected differently.

Indeed, that it does.

News / Polish Policeman shoots down a foreigner in Warsaw [300]

I'm not lying. Sorry.

But you are, you are.
You are lying. Just take a look at overall chart crimes reported for the Netherlands. Poles started to migrate to the Netherlands since 2004, the overall number of crimes reported in Netherlands have been dropping since 2002 and is much smaller then prior to the first wave of Poles ever hitting Netherlands, so despite the great influx of Poles to the Netherlands the overall numbers are steadily dropping, interesting phenomenon is it not? Besides the increase of 0.4 million for 2009 compared to the previous year is mainly due to various types of vandalism, suggesting that the crime was committed by younger people perhaps your own unemployed drug addicts with nothing but time on their hand.

The results I sited are taken from National Safety Monitor, a joint publication by Statistics for Netherlands, the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations and the Ministry of Justice. You can look it up yourself. No one denies the fact that some Poles did commit crime while in Netherlands, however you are trying to prove it’s due to the influx of Poles in your country and lying as to what the statistics are, purely on some demented logic of yours stemming from sudden fascination of crime statistics without bothering to check out the facts or compare the data to relevant years. The overall crime in Netherlands was much higher prior to Poles migrating there period, now stop trolling.

News / Polish Policeman shoots down a foreigner in Warsaw [300]

Fact is there are more Polish immigrants in Holland than there are Moroccans. So as a group, in total, they commit more crimes than Moroccans. What's so hard to understand about that?

Lie.

According to the 2009 figures from the Dutch statistics bureau CBS, there are 1,809,310 non-Western 'allochtonen' living in the Netherlands out of which there are 330,000 Moroccans, 1,478,396 Western 'allochtonen' out of which there are estimated 150,000 Poles and 13,198,081 'autochtonen' (native Dutch). As you can see for yourself there are twice as many Moroccans in Holland then Poles. Conclusion: I won’t bother discussing the rest of your outrageous claims with you, there's no point since you’re not misinterpreting the only statistical data which you trust but deliberately lie.
