News / The Iran war and Poland [826]

It does.

Poland doesn't have any specific interests in the region aside from the obvious one: oil. Poland's interest in this matter aligns with that of many other countries. This suggests that Israel is at fault for disrupting oil prices through its aggressive warmongering. The international community, including countries that want to stabilize oil prices, should take action to address this situation. Unfortunately, Israel is protected by the U.S., which is quite disappointing.
---
Poland has already taken sides. It is part of the western alliance.

Additionally, Poland has taken sides and is part of the Western alliance. However, what does this Western alliance have to do with Israel? It seems as though Poland has little to gain from supporting Israel, especially considering Israel's abusive behavior. What I find most disturbing is that no one seems to be openly discussing Israel's aggressive policies, which are undermining peace and disrupting oil production in the Middle East. Instead, the conversation often shifts to criticizing Iran and its government. Really? What narrative are you following, brainwashed fellow posters?

Work / Warsaw job with US experience (tech company) [11]

I cant as I got deported.

Oh, poor you. You couldn't legalize your status because you were too lazy and didn't put in the effort. Your unruly behavior and self-centered attitude led you to commit a crime. In the end, you weren't clever enough to avoid being caught, and now we have to deal with your presence.

Sometimes, I wish there were an island in the Indian Ocean where we could deport people.

Feedback / I love this forum - It's so Polish: tolerant, inconsistent, amusing [325]

I don't give a damn about European history and Europe. The only country I care about is the US. Period.

If that's the case, then you are in the wrong forum. It happens: some people lose their way in the woods or wilderness, while others might lose their way in their own home. Some individuals generally struggle to stay on topic and may speak inconsistently, regardless of how many maps or tools are available to assist them.

It happens. There's no need to label them disrespectfully; they are just people, and the world shouldn't take them too seriously.

Poland has no interest in this region of the world. Taking sides would be unwise.

Law / Gun control in Poland: should Polish people be allowed to own guns? [1044]

I appreciate the quote from mafketis about the concept of freedom and the frontier experience being interconnected. While I understand that it's part of the American experience, I believe it isn't the central issue. In this context, it's an interesting idea, but it's not particularly significant.

Law / Gun control in Poland: should Polish people be allowed to own guns? [1044]

More likely it's lingering effect of the frontier experience.

There is no doubt that a lingering effect from the frontier experience exists, contributing to an atmosphere of acceptance around guns. However, I wouldn't overstate its impact. The main issue at hand is the concept of freedom and the so-called Constitutional rights. I believe you may not fully understand the U.S. Constitution and are searching for justifications to support your viewpoint on guns.

And PiS is supported by uneducated country bumpkins, which is a fact also :D

Well, that is democracy for you, surprised? It does not work like women's democracy, where you can always have your way - it is impossible in principle.
--
And that doesn't make KO "the party of the mafia and criminal underworld."
Get it?
@ Paulina

The point is that whoever is voting for PiS or anyone is fine and needs to be respected. Who started that nonsense - those voters are this or that? Your lowlife leader, Ginger F.

Law / Gun control in Poland: should Polish people be allowed to own guns? [1044]

Their obsession with guns is hard to figure out.

It is easy to understand their obsession with guns; it relates to the principle of freedom. You are not truly free if you are not allowed to bear arms or if you are subjected to taxes without your consent. Once the right to bear arms is compromised, freedom is significantly diminished
The other is already gone under the guise of representation. Then those totalitarians and control freaks go after the guns.

News / Karol Nawrocki - the New President of Poland [381]

Kindly elaborate on that then, because according to all common sense and knowledge fascism is the opposite of left-wing ideology:

Are you familiar with socialism and communism, along with their histories? If so, let's look at Italy after World War I. There were some patriotically minded socialists who recognized the dangers of communism, viewing it as an attempt at globalization. As a solution to this, they developed fascism by adapting socialist and communist ideas from a universal perspective to a national one.

In essence, fascism can be seen as a left-wing ideology with a national focus.

Regarding Dmowski's ideas, they originated before the Italian concepts of fascism and do not share much in common. If this is difficult to grasp, perhaps the issue lies in the conceptual framework you're using.

Who decides which ideas are "misguided" and which aren't?

Who decides which ideas are "misguided" and which are not? It's often determined by the consequences of their implementation in real life, both in the short term and long term. Additionally, it involves people like us who are qualified to make those decisions. In forums like this, it's not just you and me; there may be two or three others who are also capable of participating in this discussion. Talking about elitism - talking about reality.

I-S, how rejecting progress always gets dressed up as wisdom

As for rejecting progress, I don't oppose change if that's what you're referring to. I reject changes that are artificially imposed, presented as gifts to humanity, when their true motives and outcomes are dark and sinister. Recognizing this is a matter of wisdom and realism for me. While you may define it differently, I stand by my choice to call it wisdom.
--
Clarity isn't delusional;

The real question is: who can see clearly, and whose vision is clouded?
--
it's how humanity truly moves forward most sustainably.

As for the notion of progress, considering how the world develops, can you be certain that your version of progress is genuinely moving humanity forward? Or will we ultimately witness something akin to regression?

Reducing people to percentages and dismissing their agency isn't insight - it's elitism

I don't reduce people to percentages or dismiss their agency or expectations. There are many factors at play, and I'm simplifying my argument for clarity. What I mean is that even if the majority of people have an agenda, they won't act coherently or achieve the desired change without guidance from the top 20 percent of leaders.

In Western civilization, we are more attuned to people's needs. In some other countries, people may have needs, but they will struggle to fulfill them because their systems won't allow it. These systems often elevate the top 20 percent into a ruling class, and if they reject the system, the system ultimately rejects them-Russia is a prime example of this dynamic.

Can you turn the clock back?

There is no linear progress.
While there may be some improvements over time, progressivism is not solely about that. It involves implementing misguided ideas and imposing them on people.
Anyone with common sense and knowledge would oppose this approach.

So what. Is practically, productive and in line with 'human nature' whatever is?

There is no single solution or recipe that guarantees success. Modernity has brought forth the notion that there is one specific formula, which, if followed exactly, will ensure general well-being and prosperity for mankind. This is the biggest delusion. There is no cure-all for the problems of the world.

The divide between left and right, and between conservatives and liberals, arises from a democratic party system that makes it easier for people to categorize themselves into groups. This categorization is limited in its usefulness. Therefore, I prefer not to use these labels, as they are imprecise and do not accurately represent an individual's thoughts, if they have any at all.
---
And what about the majority of people who like progress?

What majority? Are you referring to those with strong opinions? They make up about 20% of every society; another 20% consists of the criminal class or those who are struggling both morally and materially. The remaining 60% tend to follow the top 20%. If the top 20% has a consensus, the followers will align with their opinion. So what exactly are you asking me here?

What do you have against progressive values?

I believe they are impractical, counterproductive, and contrary to human nature.
They create chaos by design, which can lead to totalitarian rule.
That's my main point.

News / Karol Nawrocki - the New President of Poland [381]

o, you could say that PiS is a party of uneducated and easily manipulated country bumpkins.

You could make any statement you want. For example, that professor Dudek has the audacity to use statistics to claim that most educated people voted for Tusk. However, in Poland, a higher percentage of women hold formal higher education diplomas, even if those degrees may not hold much value. Many of these educated women, who may have studied beyond their intelligence, are so influenced by propaganda that they vote for Tusk.

Ultimately, I'm just trying to point out that if a professor can make such ridiculous claims, then Paulina also has the right to say that the PO (Civic Platform) is supported by criminals-which is a fact.

Both communist and fascist regimes were murdering their political opponents

Lol! Is that your deductive reasoning and logic applied to a case? We can see how effective it is. Let's apply your skills in a different scenario: you have hair, and I have hair, which means you are a man.

If you still don't understand what this has to do with anything, let me clarify: people have been killing their enemies since the dawn of time; it is not exclusive to any particular ideology.

Also, I never said I would kill them; I said that it is what they deserve. Any punishment less than death would still show them mercy and generosity of spirit. Improve your reading comprehension.

Of course it isn't.

Of course it is. That low-life loser is simply not capable enough to implement it. The fact that he is a failure doesn't mean his intentions are pure. Also, in personal interactions, he is a nasty, rude individual.

The new government

You are the same person who claims that Poland's economy is getting stronger and going in the right direction. So, I will take your opinions about such subjects with a grain of salt.
It seems to me that as long as the government adheres to progressive prejudices then in your eyes, everything will go splendidly well.

The political discourse in Poland has really been poisened by PiS in the last 10 years... .

It has been poisoned by foreign influence in elections and the meddling of foreign NGS support for Tusk and his ilk. Berlin is not even hiding their support.
I think Poland will have to return the favor in the future.

"Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology and movement."

Fascism is a right-wing ideology of the left, you have communism, socialism, and fascism. Those who refuse to recognize Marxism, progressivism, and all kinds of left nonsense have nothing to do with fascism. Only left-wing losers persist in that terminology, calling all those who disagree with them fascists. Just keep it where it is in your left patalogical family.
Even if that wasn't the case, that description is describing Tusk and other totlitarians, doesn't reflect me and my values..

Russia never treated Poland as a serious player.

Given that our politicians are, to a large extent clueless about geopolitical issues, so policies they formulate are lame like a lame duck.
I'm not surprised that nobody takes us seriously.
Before the war EU's core, with Germany at the forefront, was eating out of your hand

From the Russian point of view, his only mistake was underestimating the Ukrainian will to fight and losing the first stage of the war.

the EU?

I think about the EU in the threat category. It is the German EU and it would take a lot to change it and mend its ways. As you say, we don't need Ukraine in the EU.
Also, as I said /Poland needs to work closely with Scandinavia, and other smaller countries of the region. However, Belarus and Ukraine are contested territories ( I don't mean incorporation but a zone of interest); after all, Russia is not satisfied with what it has. So there is no point in not trying to change the status quo of those states.
