Love / Polish women are the most beautiful in the world! [1718]

im just jumping in here

Polish women are beautiful in everyway! Yes beauty is one element, ive been to poland a few times and there is no comparasion to any other country ive been to before!

BUT the real killer beauty to me is there atitude! they are so warm once you get to know them, so selfless (the ones ive met and ive met a few) and generally smart!

They handsdown beat the western materialistic shallow girls ive known in the past.

Its a sweeping statement - but based on my personal experiences

I now have a polish girlfriend! :)

my honesty has and always will, get my into a big heap of shi...

Er I dunno, different strokes for different folks. I like girls individually i get on with all i meet. Its a general statement really and from personal experiences with some girls i know (i wouldnt wish to be with them) and i was in a 2yr relationship with the definition of what i stand to despise in any person!

Cheers for the heads up thou! any nice ladies not from poland please do not be offended. Im sure you could say the same about many men :)

Kaka! :) sorry about my english. I was saying that I find Polish Girls to be far more modest and not so 'vain' compared to Irish and British Girls. They are more selfless and in general far more sympathetic (good thing).

The Irish and British Girls Ive known are loud, materialistic, selfish. Sure there are good looking women everywhere but ive found the percentage to be higher in Poland and eastern girls in general.

You could say they are more friendly but i think its a different kind of friendly. The polish people in general are very friendly in my experience once you get to know them (past the introduction stage) I hope this makes sense!

by the way - your post made perfect sense :)

yea, ive dated irish, french italian and brazillian. Im not painting all women with the same brush, im not saying no nationality is loud - you've gotten far to defensive for a GENERALised, from personalised experience.

Dont make it so that people cant speak to the tales of there own life! PC has ruined conversation in most cases anyway!

There are lovely british girls (and irish) they are fewer and farther between than polish and THAT is just MY experience :) i never said YOU weren't, I dont know you, Ive said the ones ive met, generally! now PAX?!

and on a point - you said you like to have fun! thats great im sure we all do! :) i never said anything about us irish n english NOT having fun - only that ive found polish to be more open and friendlier and nothing to do with FUN or being LOUD (next you'll tell me ive objected to having a drink!?)

This has gotten to a rant as i hate it when people blow stuff up beyond the orginal message!

Genealogy / Claiming WW2 medals for Polish father [38]

Paul,

Id imagine you would have to contact the relevant ministry of defense etc and the branch of armed forces he served in to get records (true and fair) that he actually served.

So if it was the Polish army lets say, you'd need to contact them, giving them your fathers service number, name, unit, etc, etc (as he is still alive he will be able to provide you these basic bits of information.

Once done, the branch of the military concerned shall provide the information (not sure how long that will take btw) and you will then need to contact the respective ministry (of defense, of war, or whatever it is)

But first off, you need your fathers details;

Country served for,
Branch served in (army, navy, etc)
Brigade,
Unit,
Section,
Service Number,
These are the basics they will ask you for.

Good luck

pdv8 - if he was demobbed in the UK you can deal with them - if there is need to get involved with Polish then - the UK records would be able to give you the direct contacts - this would save you much time. and im very sure someone here would be willing to translate a request letter for you when you know who and what you need to send

Love / English Men vs Polish Men [207]

i wouldnt call gf an expensive hobby :)

if it is love - neither care who pays really

peter i agree if you earn twice as much thats only fair.

i am a gentleman and like to pay out of politeness but the etiquette is simple. if you ask for the date you pay - if she asks she pays. if you mutually agree to met up, suggest you will pay and she will either let you or prob say pay our own way.

personally, once in a rel'ship i like to pay fully one time and let her pay in full the next. it works for us and it avoids reading the bill :)

Life / Do you think that Polish people are rude? [951]

I was just trying to get away from the idealistic notion that Poland is a nation free of racists

Poland is a country for Poles, some foreigners may come, but not too many.

sapphire, ive found Poland to be a very friendly place but it is like all places when it feels threatened by immigration like the USA of Irish, the UK and IRE to Poles. I am not one of them but i realise that there is some.

And of course we know poland is no exception to being human :)

Grzeg. I know id be the first to admit, no one likes there own country to be overrun and feel therr culture is threatened but its up to us to elect gov't that have such policies.

The US green card system, lotto like. what do you think of this? I happen to prefere the EU's Free movement policy (of EU nationals to EU countries)

better to die free than live a slave perhaps?

are you saying you'd rather rush into a fight and lose and be happy your not a puss
than plan, prepare, execute a proper rebellion?

Ah i dont think thats true. Im sure you'd want the best plan of rebellion possible for freedom of poland in them days :)

History / Poland's January Uprisings of 1863 [86]

I think they did plan,

so would i :)

but they were outnumbered.

the irish rebels were outnumbered by the British. They won. Im not rubbing it in your face. Just saying being outnumbered is not the excuse.

It can be plans they made were not as good, or the enemy had better plans etc. Being outnumbered is not the hinge the door swings on (if you get me there)

Genealogy / Do Polish people have big noses? [450]

Most Caucasian People have Big Noses, and their is nothing wrong with that :-)

in the UK and IRE the Caucasian nose is rather 'petite' in nose terms on the whole.

generally true of the caucasian complexion in my experience

its down to genes in the end and noses of all sizes will exist :)

lets not forget the proverbial noses , nosey and stuck up noses, etc :)

I believe Germany apologized for almost everything.............

they hadnt any choice - thats how it is, america and russia are not overrun by opposing forces and feel they can get away without apologising...when they should (as germany should have and did, but i think the apology was sincere for the most part - as the americans and russian people who would LOVE there leaders to apologize!!

I know alot of americans who are ashamed of G W Bush for eg
