UK, Ireland / Recently beaten up in England by 3 Polish guys [93]

In the 15 years I have been here, the only times I have ever seen two men fighting both of them have been foreigners. Poles will sometimes fight if it's just two-on-one but usually it's three against one.

i dont think this is exclusive to poles or pawels...the only times I have seen two men fight was back in high school. nowadays it is 2 or more onto 1, the only one on one fights involving one party knifing or glassing the other party.

Australia / Just got home to Australia, but I miss Poland! [47]

you live in southbank from memory?

if you're looking for fruit, veg, fish, meats, etc then try the south melbourne/victoria markets.

the victoria one even has a polish deli, just dont get sucked into buying the pierogi there.

coles/safeway are the best for the other things.

Polish shop at Vic market is pretty expensive...
And I got some stuff from there that was well past best before date.
Once I got lettuice from south melbourne market with worms in it... since then I'm shopping at Safeway just across the street from the market but I don't like it.
I'm making my own pierogi tomorrow as its my birthday... I need something polish to celebrate it.
So what do you do for fun ?

it is expensive but considering the closest polish clubs to us are scumshine, dandewog or rowville it is what we deal with it.

yeah, i was at vic mkt 2 weeks ago and was told by a store owner for touching the peaches. i promptly went to safeway/coles to do the rest of my vegie/fruit shopping.

i live in the norf, so i shop at psarokos.

for fun, usually go for drinks after work on a friday. not much else really.

if you're looking for something to do then check this out, my brother plays in the band:

when are you coming?

bad news, the rights to top gear have been bought by a commercial network and as asikia said we have ads a plenty. it could have the potential to ruin the show.

im also not sure how up to date it will be.

Australia / How to import my car to Australia from Poland? [26]

you better go to there america there laws in australia a strickt they copy laws from england

ahhh, james, what has australia done to you?

you can buy the pt cruisers here.

you're better off selling the car, and either buying one in australia or living in the innercity and using public transport.

Australia / How to import my car to Australia from Poland? [26]

theres this new stupid law comeing up that there cops can stop you on there street and search you for weapons for no reason

numbnut, maybe it is coz of this, read and expand your mind:

theage.com.au/victoria/call-for-tacstyle-campaign-to-target-knifings-20100222-orup.html

Do you even know what you are talking about?

check the guys posts, 90% involve slagging australia off and the other 10% slagging poland off.

that's way we choose Perth, and it has less humidity than other very nice, but over populated big cities in AU ;)

sydney, melbourne, adelaide are from over populated when compared to major cities around the world.

perth may have less humidity, but the 35+ degrees at 8am are killers.

Australia / Thinking about moving to Australia [39]

jamesams1357

you're load that should have been swallowed.

The main thing that worries me is all the deadly animals and insects there

you're more likely to be hit by a hoon in a ford/holden (gmh) here than be eaten by sharks.

are you going to reside in sydney for the longer term?

just for your info as well, generally the smaller a spider is the more potent it is. a small white tail spider will do more damage (not kill you) than a huntsman the size of your hand.

this troll lives in the usa and seems like his education is not up too par.

when i was in the uk, all i was asked about were bugs, spiders and snakes. people are fascinated with it.

yes, can honestly say I've never been worried about spiders and snakes, only time I've seen a snake was at the zoo, lets be honest about it Melbourne is the sports capital of the

whereabouts bolek?

you need to get out to the burbs with a creek running through it...i can remember one of the teachers smashing a tiger snake with a baseball bat when it entered the school grounds. and i have seen a few others growing up. but dnz, that is over a span of 36 years.

lets be honest about it Melbourne is the sports capital of the
world ie, cricket, tennis, golf, motor car and motorcycle racing, surfing etc,

you forgot the best sport in the world:

Just out of interest how cold is it likely to get in Sydney during the winter months and also how early does it get dark,

i dont know about sydney, but melbourne ranges between 8-13 degrees during winter and it usually gets dark say around 5pm. no where near the 4pm dark i experienced in scotland.

Life / Giving tips in Poland [235]

good service shouldnt correlate to what type of tip you leave.

in australia, we generally dont tip (as waiting staff are generally paid ok) and only if we did get good service. definitely wouldnt tip a pizza delivery person.

what are the corkage rates like in the states/europe?

when was the last time you come across a deadly spider? Can I suggest Never.

i have come across redbacks, way back when i was young and told to get out of the house.

i do come across white tail spiders who, whilst not fatal, can leave quite a mark where they bite you and you could end up in hospital.

funny, we were just discussing this:
news.theage.com.au/breaking-news-national/child-airlifted-after-snake-bite-20100304-pkhg.html

Central Melbourne

i grew up and live in the inner north.

have you been here your whole life?

i am never uncomfortable in the melbourne cold, but i am an office jockey and choose to wear a an overcoat type thing instead of a suit jacket.

not when you were letting any tom, dick and harry in through the back door...we had a system whereby students could come to australia and study in a field that was a needed skill here and gain permanent residency (PR) after.

the problem being we end up with a lot of indians with MBA's studying to be chefs or hairdressers but with no inclination to pursue that skill and just to get their PR. they then cannot get into their field of study back in india as invariably you need experience.

in addition, college's realising this loop hole where full fee paying students paid 20-30k to get into these courses really ramped up their business to lure these students.

Travel / Poland from a Persian Tourist's Perspective [269]

Iranian women are one of the most beautiful women I've seen! And they know how to take care about their looks - have a very good taste in clothes, make-up, are in fashion.

easy on the eye....yes.

its the hair on the bodies that is the turn off.

Australia / Poles in Australia - money for start, chances for a job, costs of living (Brisbane, Bunbury) [50]

Since you're there, what's you take on it?

australia has a stern immigration policy on illegal entries yes.

but on the otherside we have been handing out permanent residency like swap cards to students (mainly indian) that come here to study in areas that are needed like hairdressers and chefs.

i think what flogtime25 was referring to was more the colonial treatment of aborigines and subsequent treatment over the years.

apart from that, i dont see australia as any more/less racist than any ther country i have been to.

Australia / Looking for Polish immigration lawyer in Sydney [16]

polaron i think.

they do charge an arm and leg, but they do all the work for you.

and matowy, im contemplating initiating the same procedure, not for eu benefits but so that if i ever decide to travel to europe i can travel easier. and so my future children (god help the world) can also freely travel to europe and work if they so wish.
