UK, Ireland / Poland continues to milk Ireland dry. [129]

Do you do much else than moan?

If you don't like Polish people then maybe this is not the best place to moan about it....

Your government allows it to happen... more fool them

Law / Opening a Polish Bank Account by a foreigner in Poland. Recommendations. [299]

I opened my account with WBK.. mainly as i live in the west of Poland... and there are hundreds of cash machines so i don't have to pay 5zl to take cash out...

Their internet portal is in English which is useful...

Although i have two accounts with them.. one in zl and one £ mainly because the crap exchange rate at the moment.. although i tend to take money out in £ at the branch and go to a Kantor to get a better rate than the bank...

All i needed was my Passport and my 5 year registration plus you can get a Visa for your account

Speaking of WBK i went in to a branch today to withdraw 500zl because i had forgot my card, to find out they had "forgot" to add my passport as ID on my account, so theoretically I opened my account with my PESEL number with no photo ID.... was made to wait nearly 40mins to sort it out but in the end I got my cash..... I couldn’t believe it! good job I went with my translator (well fiancée... lol)

Other than that.. they are great!

The best part abot the Lidl leaflet is the first 2 pages are basicly fish and chips or other forms of fish products!

Which is all we eat in Britian (or not) maybe they could have done battered Mars bars or something!

Life / Is Poland a safe country for people of color? [241]

I work with a black guy (i say it this crude because thats how he wants to be called), OK we live in a small town in the west of Poland. really people are always stopping him to talk to him about anything... people can tell he is not Polish... only once some guys said something racist in the pub, but genrally people are accepting him into the town which has only a couple of colored people!. It is amazing!

Work / English qualifications to start Teaching English In Poland. Is degree of some sort needed? [123]

Hey!,

If you want to teach you need to look into doing your CELTA, this is a qualification to help you teach, any school with a slight reputation will demand you have CELTA, if you put it in search, you will find plenty of info. As a native speaker normaly the only job open to you is teaching but it depends were you want to go because most schools have teachers already for this year!. Were are you thinking of moving to??
