News / RUSSIA TO MAKE PUBLIC THE KATYN FILES... [274]

BB no offense but you seem to misinterpret the incoming information.
Those who we "honour in May" has little to none to do with mass murders of Russians/Soviets/Poles. You must have confused NKVD with regular soldiers. NKVD was completely different department consisted of so-called "tilovaja krisa" (swivel-chair warrioirs, "reaward rats" if stick with literal translation from Russian) who were responsible for execution of defectors and so on. Does one need 1000 people to execute another 1000? Obviously not. Thus the overall quantity of NKVD-members is really tiny compared to veterans who we praise and they hardly have anything to do with veterans. Even if there are some among them there's a juridical term such as presumption of innocence. If you want to judge them, prove it first. Or should I in your book turn my nose up at all of them for the only reason that some of them are possibly guilty? That's not gonna work. :)

In case you still want to judge NKVDshnikov... Most of them I believe are already gone, those who gave orders even long ago. Having said that, I agree with that the government shouldn't let it slide. The ones who are guilty must be sued.

well....brain amputed, stockholm syndrom suffering, idiots, sorry to say that!

Certainly grates on my ears. I only cherish a hope that this piece of art is not what they write in your press. BB, we don't praise murderers. We praise people who laid their lives for the my opportunity to speak Russian and live in this at times inhuman, in patches dirty but in general lovely and, I want to believe, kindhearted country.

Were war criminals, murderer and rapists ever punished?

That might sound cynical but it's a saying... victors are not judged. After all nobody made fascists (except for Mr. Schicklgruber) come to our land, mass murder people, rape women etc. Another principal is what goes around comes around. One could say "you deserve it" although I'm not a fan of such harsh rhetoric.

Open a trial if you wish - otherwise your opinion doesn't matter.

And yes... it's a nice suggestion. If you want a trial go for it but be aware it may turn out you'll have to prosecute mostly your own Opa's in Germany and in the US (where mass of them fled to right after the war).

If you want to know my opinion then I don't see any sense in raking the dust and aches of the past (to say nothing of that it's barely possible after 70 years). We forgave you. The Russians don't have any grudge against you. Isn't it a proper time to stop raking?

At least he didn't concentrate on killing his own people..

Agree but that doesn't make your position firmer.

Crusader, yeah, I was eagerly waiting for that particularly in the light of recent events.

Here is some read on the issue.

Russia's federal archive agency will provide access to digital copies of documents on the Katyn massacre to end speculations about their authenticity, the agency's chief said on Wednesday.......
..."[They] say it's a fake, these documents were fabricated on someone's order and that there was no [Soviet] execution of Polish officers in Katyn, that Germans did it," he said.

Thousands of officers, police and civilians taken prisoner during the 1939 partitioning of Poland by the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany were killed by the NKVD in the Katyn forest near the western Russian city of Smolensk. The Soviet Union tried to blame the massacre on Nazi Germany, saying the killings took place in 1941, when the territory was in German hands.

"It contained a note by NKVD head [Lavrentiy] Beria dated March 1940, with a proposal to eliminate captured Polish officers. The note has authentic resolutions by [Joseph] Stalin and a number of other Politburo members: [Kliment] Voroshilov, [Vyacheslav] Molotov, [Anastas] Mikoyan. That envelope also contains a Politburo resolution, dated March 5, 1940, which expresses support for Beria's proposal to shoot the Polish officers," Artizov said.

and nothing new . Copies of all these documents were sent by Pres. Yeltsin to Polish officials in early 90-th.

"Katyn archives are actually open, but there are several documents that we have not given to our Polish partners," Medvedev said

en.rian.ru/russia/20100428/158786985.html

I wonder how many of the old veterans marching in the victory parade every 9th May are war criminals, maybe even were there in Katyn or raping their way till Berlin...

Little or nothing. Just the evil is more striking... and journalists keep the high-profile of it. That what journalism is about.

News / Crash of Tu-154 at Smolensk-North--could it have been a bomb in the Polish plane? [233]

Oh, so now it turned upside down in mid-air, huh? Every 5 minutes a new convenient explanation? Do you know how much this thing weighed?

Olga, post #40 in this thread. It was said on 21st April, id est 53 posts ago. Couple days before that convex had posted link containing this info. If you don't care to read what's written one may conclude you're either a troll or challenged somehow.

far from enough to cause it to turn "upside down."

No I see you're practically lacking proper info on the issue. It got tipping after it hit the tree (the thick one) with one of his wings. No need to explain why? Speed has nothing to do with that. Btw the average speed in this path section is usually 300 km/h. Now it's too early I guess to say for sure...

Olga, the truth is that you haven't proved a single of your claims.

Famd, let me remind you of that unlike to Jed it was you who started clogging this thread with semi-paranoid ideas which have been disproved for many times (you only need to look through this and related threads) since 10th April.

I don't impinge upon your right not to believe Russians just because they're Russians (which is certainly unhealthy but it's your choice) or to doubt everything. Yet you're expected to stay within frames of common sense and consider arguments your opponents submitted.

Once the investigation isn't done, the issue is still open, therefore "pilot error" is not an official conclusion. At the same time you and Olga have been trying to represent things the way it was a priori a lie as if you had any evidence. So far you've given none... just unfounded accusations.

just to write vulgar jokes about all the critical thinking
and using our brains asking questions...

Excuse me but considering these paranoid bullcrap you put forward

That the bodies of the president and everyone else in the plane were destructed like
after very powerful missile explosions

Russia never had so many enemies seated in one plane over its territory or near a military base equipped with electronic and electromagnetic weapons systems.

Man who shot Polish plane crash gunshots footage stabbed to death

you deserve either being laughed at or ignored...

Many of the bodies are so badly mangled they will require DNA matching.

Because the plane hit the ground being upside down.

Reuters interviewed a man who saw the plane crash that killed Polish President Lech Kaczynski and some of the country's highest military and civilian leaders. The man stated,"I had been here 15 minutes when I saw the plane flying low, and I saw something serious was going on. It was cutting, cutting trees. Then over there, there was a big noise. Boom! Like a bomb."

Whatever happens there always can be found somebody who heard a bomb or some like that. (There was a Russian in some thread who posted here he'd seen UFO flying away from that place. :) )

News / Is it possible that Polish president was assasinated? If so then, by whom? [921]

Not only in my book... Are you starting up again, Sasha?

Not at all. Of course not only in yours. What I say is that the reaction is quite expected and not surprising, at least for me.

We used to live on it since WWII (I mean nuc weapons).

Hm... :) That's a different story. People will never cease to invent more and more complicated ways of killing each other. Doesn't matter if it was made to defend as long as it every time ends up in the hands of bloodthirsty j*rks.

You are more experienced than I am. :)

Not the one [experience] to be boast of.

I didn't hear laud protests from our side - unhappy, yes, but we can live with it.

One can technically live pinioned to a dynamite box (till it blows).

I didn't hear laud protests from our side - unhappy, yes, but we can live with it.

You may read them in links given by Olga (they sound like a threat in her book).
Besides if you don't hear of anything that doesn't mean nothing happens.

If our close neighbour feels unsafe it is more dangerous for us.

I understand and thoroughly share your good will to care about neighbours but the problem is that we won't feel safe in this case.

For more info you may acquaint yourself with Russian and American Military Doctrines. Oh... and read my edit above.

P.S. If anything, I'm a lieutenant of missile arm in reserve.

Are you sure you didn't mix the Patriot system witn GMD missiles?

Jed, AFAIK the system can work against ballistic missilery. Besides they would need to install any kind of radar system which means constant scanning of Russian territory. That's already not a nuclear parity.

EDIT: To make things more clear... One doesn't to hammer out missile jak kilbasu to violate the parity. You can just put your opponent to no-win position. Patriot missiles themselves are not attacking weapon.

One more thing...

Poland is no longer in the Russian influence zone and never will be again!

True and I don't want it to be there ever again. Nor I want it to be in any other influence sphere. You know that I've always been for healthy cooperation.

If stick with example of bank and robbers... The US will have an option to use a Polish citizen as a human shield if ever implement plans of Russian bankbreak. Don't see here any benefits for either side (except the US gov, not people).

As far Russia claiming the Patriot missilies in Poland are a threat to their security - total hogwash.

From the synpunkt of a peaceful citizen, of course it is. I would probably share that opinion if not studied the question from a military point of view in my days. There's such a thing as nuclear parity; if it's violated by either side that will cause problems. There're many ways of violation. One of them deployment of any kind of interceptors at neighbourhood. I assure you, the kickback would be immediate if Russia durst to deploy interceptors in the vicinity of American boundary. That has nothing to do with our politicians, that's just the same for any Nuclear Nation.

PS. Still luv ya though! ;)

Leve det polsk-ryska samarbetet! :) No offense. If two people always agree with each other... one of them is extra. :))

And Russia has openly threatened Poland over it

Openly threatened? What threat do you mean? And what do you expect considering the fact that missile deployment in Poland is itself a direct threat to Russia?

If you had any clue on nuclear parity you wouldn't bring up the issue. It's only beneficial for the USA. Poland would be their missile shield.

For Russia it's just a question of security which has nothing to do with who is at the helm here at the moment.

News / Poland President National Mourning in Some Countries [212]

the cooperation between the two countries is becoming stronger by day and the wounds seem to seal.

Darun, I keep my fingers crossed. :)

If Russia becomes a medium power,

This is what we currently are, if not less. :) Well, I got your logic and share it up to a point. Does the US in your book have "geopolitical friends"?

And an excellent writeup can be found here.

Convex, do you read/speak Russian? That's indeed the most worthy review I've seen so far about the tragedy. Did you run into smth like that in Polish/English. Just would like everyone here to be aware.

Оля has hit about 300 messages within several days in a few topics. I suspect she's on the same crack as our flying friend from Sarmatia...

Food / Does beer have any "real" expire date? [39]

David, beer has expiration date. Although I can understand you feelings about 20 bottles of krombacher. ;) Try one if it tastes sour then throw it away, if it tastes ok then either drink it or if don't want taking a risk use it in cooking or in sauna. :)

Olechka, because we wanna hold in with Poles. :) Is it prohibited by international law?
If you keep the good work up soon there will be Ruskies everywhere around you. :) The world is Russian... nightmare... :) Thanks for cheering up! TGIF.

EDIT

why did you call yourself Olga?

That's Freudian subconscious desire to be a Russian.

You Rusy are stupid bastards!!!

Mods was this better than constant south's reincarnations?

Olia, you're totally f*cked up. :)
What I hear is "davaj, suda, pokuda (or "paskuda")"... Obviously one (presumably firefighter) tell to another "let's (extinguish it) here, now". There could be also a strong word "paskuda" as I put it, but it has nothing to do with "kurva".

Put your trust in your sword and the sword in the russian.

How poetically true it is!! And who knows better than Poles and Ukrainians...

How sweet! :) Dimwits jump. The shame of Ukrainian nation and the one of Polish have finally found each other. Gotta have a beautiful baby. :)

The best predictor for someone's motives are past actions. So for Putin you need only look as far as Politkovskaya and other outspoken journalists, Yushchenko (dioxin poisoning), Litvinenko (polonium 210--of all poisons, oh my!)

Olechka, Solnishko, I don't like Putin either but please put forward a single back for all these claims. This is just pointless to mention it as long as you've got no evidence. That's in fact a very serious accusation.

Here is excellent article written in Polish:
