USA, Canada / Do many Polish people in America hate Americans? [592]

I cant believe what I am seeing here???? It is all bull sh**. I lived in America all of my life and I still have never any signs of this. We in America are of many ethnic origins. I have never seen any hostilities between POLES and AMERICANS.. My parents came over with no money. But they worked hard next to other nationalities and they all prospered. One time I asked my Father if he would like to go back to Poland. His answer was yes,but just to visit. He said that he would never move back to Poland. He loved America.

My advice to those who feel neglected,is to get a job. This is a land of oppertunity, for those that are not afraid of work.

Language / Spelling "aunt" in Polish [142]

I read this thread with interest. I have come to the conclusion that it had to do in what region you were in.My Folks came from Galicia (Mala Polska), All the I ever knew was Dzidzu and Busia. I called my Grandfather Gigi& my Grandmother Busia.

She refered to me as her maly Nunczek. What the hell ever a Nunczek is. It must have meant well for I was her favorite. I also heard of Basia used a lot.

Hey Pan here is your song. What others are you looking forI know most of them Laseczka

Szła Dzieweczka do Laseczka, do zielonego,
do zielonego, do zielonego.
Napotkała miśliwecka, bardzo swarnego,
bardzo swarnego, bardzo swarnego.
Chorus:
Gdzie jest ta ulica, gdzie jest ten dom?
Gdzie jest ta dziewczyna, co kocham ją?
Znalazłem ulicę, znalazłem dom,
Znalazłem dziewczynę co kocham ją.
