what you hear people doing in the flat above about midday on Sundays.

It would seem that the casual PF visitor who happens to be a British teacher in Poland hears all sorts of zany things.. Be careful in the cr.apper by the way.. it's unlocked. Lol.

You must be drunk at as hell. Where do you think the term pantoflarz comes from?

Anyway I always "loved" USA according to Hollywood films

Careful man, Hollywood is a business. That's their job to make you love them.

You would probably have better luck with Canada.

Probably true.. decent amount of jobs there too. Then he can always drive down to the US to see what he's missing / or avoiding. :- D

Good luck whatever you do.

I'm American and I thought about giving Canada a go for a couple of years. The only things is Canada's a lot more expensive than the US: food and housing wise. And some people (a lot of people actually) don't need extensive health care.. in Canada you pay whether you need it or not. Food is cheap in the US. I just got a large pizza with the works for $10.00. That kind of thing. It's not everything , but it's still kind of nice.

I can't knock London.. never have been there. I don't think shots of the city in "Get Him To The Greek" tell the whole story either. However, it must have something going for it. Probably if you're in your 20s - 30s it's really good.

Work / Why is Polish workmanship so bad? [52]

my uncle and dad built our house custom quality

Don't worry, it's just another bullsh.t thread probably started by a limey. Polish craftsmen are often in demand in the Midwest, US.

@Isthatu2

funny, those nasty shacks you live in are no more than the fake fronted shacks from old west towns, the only other countries in the world that still live in wooden shacks are in the third world.....you guys really have been sold a pup

.. tell you what's not funny, your posts, which are mind numbingly stupid day in and day out on here. Even if it was true (and it's not) I'd take a "fake fronted shack" over some cramped , smelly, overpriced, limey flat any day of the week, of which you only pray a tornado would knock over. Most of you are cramped lemmings and if you wandered over to St. John's Wood some blue blood would take a can of bug spray to you.

Sold a pup huh? England is a sh.tbox, basically why 200,000 of you snaggle teeth drunks leave every year for Canada, Spain.. Poland wherever. Not exactly an endorsement is it??

.. oh and tornados very seldom kill people and stone structures are damaged by them as well. Some denizens of the world have real weather to deal. We carry on.

honestly, you would do better in Canada or Australia

.. Not if his dream is to purchase an affordable house, which is what he just stated. He'd be better off in the US. Funny how you rip on the US with every post, why don't you tell him about how many of you cross the border merely to shop in the US?

intimate knowladge of the jewish quaters of London..

<Shrugs> The only frame of reference I have about St. John's Wood is that Keith Richards had a crib there so I figured it wasn't a ghetto. Also it's sung about in their song "Play With Fire".

Actually, I think you're the secret yid on here.. you keep dropping all the Jewish holidays all over the place.

Tisha B'Av

.. this is literally the first time I've seen the words in my life. However, they slip off your tongue nicely.

But muzzle tov and nice try anyway, limey!

So, if I were an educated & skilled worker looking for someplace new to live, the USA would be the last place on my list.

I've traveled to 5 continents and know how lucky we are here in the USA.

??? So you're not educated and skilled?

Oh about the health cover, one never knows whats round the corner, if I ended up like one of our board members did, I'd be fully taken care of for how ever long it took, the rest of my life if that was the case, not for as long as my insurance covered it.

Ok but however that is a big IF.. I presume you're talking about Plk123? Not to make light of his situation at all but that could have been easily prevented. In the US and I'm sure it's true in Europe too, you can usually avoid the bad areas if you're fairly educated. Plk123 is one of those people.

£2,000 per month on a 2 bed apartment, thats circa. $3,500, that doesnt include council tax or utility bills, just rent...

Holy Christ! That's insane. :- (

I've got a two bedroom apartment right now: 2 bedroom, 2 full baths, balcony, good sized kitchen, live here alone and I pay $670.00 a month, which includes water and the heat for shower etc. ( In a good sized Midwest city, not Chicago). So roughly I pay what? $475 Euro? No bullsh.t and the place has pool too. Lived in the US most of my life and have yet to experience a tornado (seen one from a distance).. or go through a hurricane. Been through lots of snow storms but so have you guys.

The $10 pizza I got was fairly good quality, fresh vegetables, lots of sausage, pepperoni. All for what? 7.00 EUR? This is large pizza not some snack size crap. There's lots of deals. Just got a 6 pack of Pabst beer for $4.00 bucks. Big pack of swiss cheese for $2.00. I bought my kid this old ford escort for $2500.

I love Europe but man those bullsh.t taxes would drive me crazy. In the US, even if you and your spouse have a minimum wage job you can live decent , except like LA, NYC, Boston probably Miami. I'd like to give Canada a go just because it would be an adventure and they do have more jobs than us right now. I would not stay up there though. I don't need some limey queen leering at me everytime I go into some official building.

I was struggling as hell making $13/h

.. ahh but you live on the E. Coast, my man. Try the south or midwest.. you could easily get by, nothing lavish but decent food / housing. $13.00 won't cut it in the N. East you're right. Smoking is expensive, don't do it , so I don't have the expense. Which means I won't have the bullsh.t cancer expense either. Try the midwest or south; you won't have to be on assistance or welfare at all.

The US is going through a revamping right now but it's not the apocalypse or anything and it will get better but it's going to be maybe 5 years or so.

Yeah, you need to stay there too.. edit You live in one of the most expensive sections of the US. Do your homework next time.

History / How do Poles feel about 10th anniversary of 9/11 [40]

the answer is six btw.

Thanks, Wroclaw.. I wasn't aware Polish nationals died as well. RIP.

However, at the end of the day, and as an American, I'd like move on from the whole thing. Idiots over here use the incident as continual calls to invade more countries.. more pre-emptive attacks. Basically, doing the very damn thing the terrorists did to us. :- \
