News / How could PiS better spend billions instead of 500+ ? [275]

this guy is just a konfa fool wacked out on amfeta/mefedron and steroids

Really? How do you know this? I don't follow him, so I don't anything about his political views. But, surely, you must have some proof to back it up? :)

and for you to post it demonstrates a comparable level of inteligence.

Well, judging by what he's saying in this video, he ain't stupid, so I'll treat it as a compliment, thanks :) Btw, did you at least bother to watch those two videos? What do you disagree or agree with? Any thoughts, counterarguments, besides trashing that Dziki Trener guy (and my level of intelligence)? :)

News / How could PiS better spend billions instead of 500+ ? [275]

At the PiS convention today PiS chairman declared raising the benefit from 500 to 800 PLN.

A street interview with ordinary Poles saying what they think about it:

fb.watch/kBEZOqnFvG/

And a video of apparently one of the most popular influencers on the Polish internet about this posted 2 days ago:

This video got over 100 000 likes on Facebook already (he's a personal trainer, btw, and not an actor or some celebrity).

News / Russian criticism of Poland - Soviet war memorial removal [325]

"spontaneous protests" staged to make it impossible for our delegation to visit KatyΕ„ last month. No such thing happened.

I guess sending buses filled with Moscow clerks and teachers over to KatyΕ„ was too much of a work for ruling RuSSian mob lol
Plus, I don't think drawing attention to a Soviet war crime committed against Polish POWs is something that the ruling RuSSian mob would be interested in, especially considering that today's RuSSian soldiers have been committing war crimes in Ukraine since the beginning of this invasion.

Please don't insult me with your facts. I knew Poland during that period better than you ever will.

You left Poland in 1966. After that time "your facts" don't matter. You don't know what years of "centrally planned economy" did to Poland. Those people who stayed and later generations know.

So:

No, it was not.

Yes, it was sh1tty. Especially if you compare it to today's Poland.

angry Ukrainian mob

Wtf is wrong with you? That "mob" were people who's country got invaded, their people killed, probably including their family members, friends. If you want to take out your sickening RuSSophilia on someone, then do it on Polish police and not on those people, a$$hole.

Love / Don't get a child but adopt one? What Polish men think about women who don't want to get children? [34]

He claims this is one fekked up world and bringing kids to it would be too cruel and inhumane.

I think it means he's a good and sensitive kid. I can understand his view. Maybe he will change this view when he grows older... If not, then it's possible that he could probably use a therapy. I know from my own experience that such views don't appear out of nowhere...

Especially that...:

this melancholic one

..."melancholy" doesn't appear out of nowhere either - there must be some reasons for it.

A party that is communist or communistic is not the same as the Communist party.

Sorry, but it makes no sense. So what that it wasn't called "Communist" if it was, in fact, communist :D

Just becasue you didn't like the system doesn't make it "communist".

It's not about my likes and dislikes. Officially the PRL was a communist country. In practice, as far as I remember, what we had in Poland during PRL times was called "real socialism":

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_socialism

Anyway, whatever it was called - it was sh1tty.

I would be against the thugs, not a diplomat. Poland has enough ammunition to make thugs do away.

That "diplomat" is part of a clique of thugs. And, knowing RuSSia, I wouldn't be surprised if he was an agent.

Do you want me to look up "communism" for you?

No, you don't have to. Officially it was a communist country and that's how it's usually commonly called.

Poland didn't even have a "communist" party.

It did. It was called "Polish United Workers' Party":

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_United_Workers%27_Party

"was the communist party which ruled the Polish People's Republic as a one-party state from 1948 to 1989. The PZPR had led two other legally permitted subordinate minor parties together as the Front of National Unity and later Patriotic Movement for National Rebirth. Ideologically, it was based on the theories of Marxism-Leninism, with a strong emphasis on left-wing nationalism. The Polish United Workers' Party had total control over public institutions in the country as well as the Polish People's Army, the UB-SB security agencies, the Citizens' Militia (MO) police force and the media."

britannica.com/topic/Polish-United-Workers-Party

"the country's communist party, which was modeled on the Communist Party of the Soviet Union."

How does laying flowers offend anyone on the globe?

It's not about whether laying flowers is offensive to anyone or not. It was about the fact that was an event everybody knew about - that RuSSian ambassador will lay flowers on May 9 on the Soviet cemetery. That he's going to be out and about in public - that the public will have access to him. And since he's a Kremlin mouthpiece it was pretty obvious that in a country full of Ukrainian refugees it may be a risky endeavour. I'm guessing this is why Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs advised against it.

Poland was never communist.

Really? Then what was Poland between 1944 and 1989? Because it defenitely wasn't capitalist.

And have the police acted preemptively or attempted de-escalation?

I do think that since the police was there anyway, they should've protected him better, because one day it may be a gun or a knife instead of a bucket of paint and then it's going to be "on us". But besides that I can't say that I feel "deeply ashamed" because human scum got some paint on his face. Ukrainians have had to deal with plenty of real blood and not red paint because of scum like him.

when Polish hate takes over reason.

This was not Polish hate, but Ukrainian hate (and well founded and understandable). Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs advised the RuSSian embassy against laying the flowers considering the current situation. The ambassador went there knowing well what might happen and maybe even to provoke such situation, imho.

They didn't come to protest against the war but to make it impossible for the embassy delegation to lay the flowers in the cemetery.

That was a form of protest against the war and against the RuSSian authorities who were represented by that ambassador. It's not like those Ukrainians could go to the Kremlin and pour that paint on Putin, you know. So that was the only way for them to take out their anger on someone representing that vile state.

You have to be either dumb or pretend really hard that you don't understand this.

visited our cemetery in KatyΕ„ without any obstacles from the Russian side.

Well, Poland didn't invade RuSSia or, let us say, Belarus, in 2022, did it.

The right of Russian embassy to honour their war cemetery was denied, with stark violation to both the Vienna Convention

OMG, if you think how many conventions and agreements and principles RuSSians have violated concerning far more serious matters in Ukraine then I can't say I care... Cry me a river, Kania.

Riddle 3: What is this?:

Russian ambassador to lay flowers in The Soviet Military Cemetery

I think this ambassador is a Kremlin mouthpiece and human scum. To be honest, I don't care if someone like that is allowed or not allowed to put flowers somewhere. Lithuania, for example, expelled the RuSSian ambassador. Poland didn't (I'm not sure why).

I, for once, am deeply ashamed about the incident.

"Deeply"? Seriously? I'm not.

so what's your opinion about the mob (consisting mostly of Ukrainians)

I wonder what would be your opinion about this "mob" if it was your people, your family members getting killed and your country being destroyed by the country proudly and shamelessly represented by this ambassador. Whether you'd be so "deeply ashamed" and judgemental then... :(

Those soldiers defeated Wehrmacht, liberated the concentration camps and brought a kind of freedom for Poland (limited and bitter but still).

They also robbed, raped and killed many Poles and burned their houses. So, even the ordinary Soviet soldiers are, let us say, controversial figures in our history and collective memory in Poland. That's why I think that graves can stay, but statues - no. Just sayin.

Shayetet 13

Yes!! And this is it's insignia (not the whole bat is visible - only it's wings):

insignia

Shayetet 13 took part, among others, in Operation Moses - the covert evacuation of Ethiopian Jews from Sudan during a civil war. A film was made about this operation titled "The Red Sea Diving Resort" starring Chris Evans (I wrote about this film in the movie thread in Off Topic).

It is a real horse belonging to Putin

I don't know who owns it ;D, but it is a real horse indeed ;) And it's not a freak of nature, but a very rare and one of the oldest existing horse breeds in the world. It comes from Turkmenistan. The unique metallic sheen of the coat of the breed led to their nickname "Golden Horses". They are also fast, intelligent and are well adapted to severe climatic conditions.

This breed is called Akhal-Teke:

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akhal-Teke

To be honest I'm surprised they aren't more well known and popular - like the Arabs, for example. They're such unique and beautiful horses! 😳

Nobody knows which unit it is? I don't think there are that many SF units with a bat in it's insignia... πŸ€”

OK, more hints then - the bat in the video is swimming, because this unit is part of the country's Navy (so it's like the US Navy Seals). And that means this country has a coastline :)

Also, this unit is a veteran unit, it took part in almost all of it's country's wars and various missions. This unit is almost as old as the state it defends. The country itself is both very old and very young at the same time. And today would be a very fitting day to guess this riddle ;)

Spetsnaz GRU from russia?☹

Nope :) Spetsnaz GRU has a whole bat in it's insignia, unlike this unit (that's a hint too :))

The only Polish special forces group

This riddle isn't about a Polish SF unit. This is not a thread about Poland, but a general one, about the whole world :))), so it can by a unit from any country in the world.

Maybe they have a nickname too?

Yes, they do, apparently - "Bats" :) πŸ¦‡

This short video hints at one element in the unit's insignia and the environment in which this unit is designed to operate :)

Yes, it's a bat! A swimming bat :))) So what kind of unit could it be? πŸŒŠπŸ¦‡

but I think this defendant may not live to see the end of the trial. He slips unhappily on the soap.....

That seems highly unlikely to happen in a Polish prison these days:

History / Future of Kaliningrad Oblast - is it possible to annex by Poland or will it become an independent country? [137]

to remove the surname of an infamous Stalinist criminal - Kalinin - from the public use in Poland. So, the reason is serious and well grounded.

Yes, it is. It should have been done long ago... It was always mind-boggling for me that RuSSians kept that name. It's like spitting in the faces of his victims.

The Poles did something meaningless and stupid - first.

This is not "meaningless and stupid", you sovok. 😑

I can't expres what I feel towards the adults around him.

Yes, they were living in her sister's flat together with that sister and her husband. The boy's aunt and uncle witnessed the abuse and didn't help him either:

fakt.pl/wydarzenia/polska/slask/matka-8-letniego-kamila-oszukiwala-urzednikow-aby-wyludzic-swiadczenia/4s28w4r

What the f*ck is wrong with those people? I can't comprehend this.

And what about neighbours? They lived in a flat. The neighbours didn't hear the screams of a child being burned alive on a furnace??

Life / Child abuse in Poland [64]

Kamilek died today in the morning: 😭😭😭

wiadomosci.wp.pl/nie-zyje-8-letni-kamil-podano-przyczyne-smierci-6895738913508128a

This case shocked Poland lately... The 8-year-old Kamil was abused by his stepfather - he broke the child's limbs, burned him with cigarettes, poured boiling water on his body and burned him on a furnace. His burns were untreated probably for as long as 10 days with his clothes "glued" to his body. The boy's mother didn't help him. Only when his biological father visited and saw his son he called for an ambulance. Kamilek was immediately put into an induced coma in the hospital. Doctors were fighting for the boy's life since the 3rd of April. He died of multiple organ failure.

Everybody failed that little boy - institutions and adults.

May he rest in peace (finally)... πŸ•―οΈ

The monster and his victim:

The b1tch known as the boy's "mother":

I honestly think having kids should be a privilege and not a right. 🀬
