Au contraire ma Cherie. I do not live in Warsaw so I'm not qualified to comment on your claim although "full of Muslims" does seem a little of an exaggeration.

I was pointing out your hypocrisy in dismissing someone else's opinion because they do not live in the country/place that is being discussed yet you find it very easy to do the exact same thing on matters connected to the UK and the muslim community in general.

I was going to end it there but........ in for a penny in for a pound. What % of Warsaw's population is muslim ? I am presuming you wouldn't just make a wild, outlandish claim without any factual reference.

Don't steal 5 mins of conversation with her. Tell her next time we HAVE to talk. This is important.

We are assuming you want to stay with her but if you don't then advice is pointless-just get a divorce.

I have some good friends here in the UK. The husband worked in the UK for some years whilst his wife worked in Poland although the reality is that she didn't work that much over there as she knew he would support her financially.

After a few years there was an ultimatum, either she come to the UK or the marriage was over. They're now living over here and both working

It sounds like your mind is already very made up.

You got some good advice from someone already here which was to withdraw from the forum for a while and think about what YOU want to do. We will give you our opinion but it will be tainted by our own life experiences. We cannot walk in your shoes.

Communication is the key to most human problems or EFFECTIVE communication at least.

When you tell your wife that the option of living in Poland is non-negotiable I have a feeling that this is a red line for you. What was your original agreement together ? That you would marry and settle down in Poland ?

When you do meet every six weeks or so then does it feel good to be together ?

You say that when you visit she then uses your presence as an opportunity to do the things she can't do when you're in the UK. I have to conclude that either she doesn't care about you OR she doesn't really believe that you are unhappy enough to divorce her.

If you feel that unhappy then make sure that she makes time for you when you're in Poland. Take her somewhere that you can speak to her privately and tell her how you feel. Of course if you don't love her anymore then there is nothing really to salvage.

What you describe is simply not sustainable.

Can I ask if your original plan was to move to Poland together ? How long did you live in Poland before deciding to move back to the UK and was it a mutual agreement ? If not, then maybe the seeds were sown then.

You say you have pointed our the pros and cons of living in the UK but I think this misses the mark. You need to point out that that your marriage has reached a fork in the road. Both of you will have to compromise for it to work.

First of all, I am assuming you are 100% certain that they are Polish (otherwise you wouldn't be posting on a Polish forum) ?

Secondly, do not treat them any differently to any other nuisance neighbour. Speak to them politely in the first instance. If it carries on then contact the Council. They will probably tell you to keep a record of the instances.

Yes and both points are correct.

I personally blame David Cameron as we should never have been given a referendum in the first place. It was entirely voluntary. Ok-he had some pressure from within the Tory party but it there was no pressing need and with Corbyn as the only feasible alternative to Tory rule then Cameron could have gone on leading the country for years to come.

Instead the people were asked to buy a cat in a bag.

You've got that right.

The real kicker though is that this school of thought is popular NOT amongst people who have a history of employment and believe they are worth more than certain jobs but from people who have never worked and would prefer to claim benefits instead.

I know I bang on about how muslim families are culturally wired to claim benefits here in the UK but I also have to be balanced and admit that English families are just as bad.


You make a lot of presumptions don't you ? There was no substance to the Leave campaign so they focused on a few touch points that they knew the public were sensitive to (Trump became President of the USA using the same tactic).

The Brexit referendum was decided on emotion. There were no facts put forward by the Leave campaign as they didn't have any so they used fear as their trump card. The Remain campaign had to try and polish a turd and make out that the EU in it's current form is something that we should all want to be a part of.

When people think that things are going t*ts up then it's easier to persuade people to change the status quo rather than work within the establishment and make marginal changes that usually turn out to be hollow victories.

The Leave campaign just injected a few key words into the debate and the people filled in the blanks with their own fears, prejudices and hopes.

The over riding theme was immigration. People fed up of failed multiculturism even though voters failed to join up the dots and realise that creeping Islamification would not be affected by a Brexit. It's better to expel Poles and Hungarians who are "taking your jobs" than the muslim families where the women don't threaten your job because she's too busy claiming benefits for the rest of her life.

All of this against a backdrop of seeing thousands of migrants arrive illegally on the shores of Europe and the EU telling member countries that they HAVE to house them.

Reading this thread with interest and I note with alarming interest that I tend to agree with both sides of the argument at times-goes to show what a screwed up world we have to live in.

Interesting. Which prejudice is this then ? I presume you're not trying to say that prejudice found on some internet forums, like PF, is holding back the annihilation of ISIS ?

For the record, I agree with you that not all muslims are bad. I would even agree that most muslims are good and want a peaceful life but they consider themselves muslims first and your neighbour second. Their allegiance is only to Allah not to their fellow country or country men and if they have been taught by their local madrassa or mosque that Allah demands that a good muslim respects their non muslim neighbours and respects the country they live in then we're all happy. But if some mosques are teaching them that it is their duty as muslims to make Islam the dominant religion in their country then it's not so good.

As I've said before, Islamic violence is the tip of the iceberg and actually causes more harm to the Islamic quest to become the dominant religion in the world as it causes people to turn the spotlight on the religion and the causes of the violence and sparks debate, sometimes prejudiced.

Islam's goal would be better served if they continue with their non-violent method of each family having 5-7 kids, living in western societies but almost totally failing to integrate and slowly but surely changing the fabric, culture and politics of the host nation. This strategy will reap rewards in another 50 years or so

On my last trip to Poland I observed a Pole with deportation papers being escorted onto our plane, Some of the mothers were not happy when they realised they would be sharing air space with him !

Perhaps try to contact the organisers of the piano recitals at Łazienki and with their permission propose under the statue of Chopin right next to the piano with the pianist then playing a romantic piece from Chopin just for you two ?

I haven't been for a few years but the view from the Palace of Culture is not what many people anticipate-it can be quite dull.

There is a nice restaurant within the grounds of Łazienki park so that could be combined with the Chopin recitals.

I would advise against trying to travel to Auschwitz from Warsaw and back again in one day. Why not book a hotel in Krakow for two nights and you then have more options for a marriage re-proposal.

Łazienki is beautiful especially in May. Find some restaurants or venues and contact them about your idea. They may help to create a romantic moment for you.

My elderly mother is extremely sentimental when it comes to Polish history and I have been thinking that she might really love being in Warsaw on the 1st August to witness the traffic stand still, the sirens go off, flares lit and see people show their respect to the fallen from the Uprising.

One of the places that I see do this quite often in Warsaw appears to be next to the Palace of Culture and I was wondering if anyone can confirm this and also whether the Polonia Palace would therefore be a good base for us.
