I pray 4 u Katsuhiko. Paperwork is a notoriously complicated business. My friend from NZ had problems getting his and it ruined everything for him.

Maybe ask to see what the status of ur application is. Chase them up and make sure that they are doing sth.

U have nothing to lose this way and it doesn't constitute harrassment.

Cheating is considered socially acceptable. I've done so many exams, it doesn't bear thinking about. And for what? With that in mind, I let them cheat as exams are, sometimes, just a form of control that mean little down the line. They train the mind, sure, but there are other ways to do that. They only prove that u achieved sth at such and such a date. Whoopdeedoo!!

Having said that, it is a test and we should like to be tested as people. What is life without some element of challenge?!

Schadenfreude doesn't meaning gloating I think, ask BB. It comes from schade which means pity. I think u mean misfortune and not gloating tho I could be wrong.

I've been told that Americans, being an ultra materialistic society, are much more this way than the Poles. Isn't this true?

OK, Russia (not fully Slavic) has the best chess players but hardly superior. The Hungarians can pretty much match them.
