Yeah, Czech is out there, like a totally different language.

I can understand some Slowak but no Czech.

Polish is fairly easy for Ukrainians to learn to speak.
Reading and writing is a separate problem.

Exactly!When I was growing up I did tend to look down on British cuisine,but the more I learnt,the more I understood that it was much better than I had thought.And was actually very good.

There is some great pub food in the UK

There certainly is!
Some of them even have Michelin stars!
