Well I think frd and I got that point too, lesser. The central point was that the police have to take strong, deterrent action against would-be criminals. I'm quite sure I speak for frd too in that we both wouldn't want to brand a certain group as this way or that but you need to take a firm line with hardmen.

Or the best burger our there, the Kurwa Mac. I wonder if McD's could get off with that as it isn't kurwa mać but, then again, kurwa is in the title. The mind boggles!

I agree with frd. Cracovia, there comes a time when you have to put your hands up and say 'bad is bad'. English fans really changed over the years because they wanted to. Football became more of a family game. Can you say the same about Poland? There are fights in forests and weapons carried.

Normal fans, to my knowledge, are escorted by the police at away matches. I'd be grateful if the police did this, knowing some of the yobbos that go to games. What do you object to, Cracovia?

They don't understand the need for the enforcement function of the law. I dislike the hooded types here, they are such a waste of space. You seem them milling around doing nothing productive. The same can be seen in Scottish 'hoods'. Hoods in the hood, LOL.

We have many such people in Scotland too, frd. The Japanese have the right idea, they treat the police as social helpers and often call them o-mawarisan. Anything with 'o' or 'go' is keigo/respect language.

I wonder how such fools like him get employed.

You love it and that's why you are in Manchester, right? Chump! What's wrong with the Polish police? They have to be tough due to the moronic nature of some folk here. What do you expect them to be, pansies? I know some Polish police and I don't appreciate folk bashing them.

Only idiots think that all footie fans are hooligans.

Fake celebs? What?

You love rudeness is how I read between the lines! You really are a twat, aren't you lad?

They are checking available data on known paedos. They are tracing IP addresses and asking parents to take a more responsible position in monitoring what younger NK users do online.

I was a babysitter for many years and I know how curious they were to type randomly into the void. Research has been done that when their curiosity is peaked, paedos can't hold back and arrange meetings if they can.

There is no magic solution but monitoring really helps.

I can imagine those Sobieski girls :) There are Lynx (Axe) girls here too. They dress up in black and spray you with deodorant cans. Very sexy!

I'd go as far as to say that Sobieski would be the most popularly bought vodka here. It's so cheap for what you get. It doesn't have the image of outright cheapness and the harsh associations that come with it. The lightweights can always have a chaser, mix it up with some blackcurrant juice.

Żubrówka I think you mean. It's more for drinking with apple juice, rather than being a vodka for connosieurs.

News / Dalai Lama says: "POLAND HAS RETAINED ITS SPIRIT" [77]

Ksysia, this has been a perennial issue dating back to the 1980's and the continuing debates on the appointment of judges, most notably to the Constitutional Tribunal. Tbh, I hadn't heard about that new matter until you raised it. I thought it was finally settled in the 1997 version where judges were not to have a fixed term of 5 years but be open to reappointment whenever. If Tusk is indeed doing what you are saying, he is cutting against the grain of modern practice and will be slated.

This is part and parcel of politics. There was some kind of legitimacy to it before as they were under occupation. More things were shrouded in secrecy but one prong of democracy is transparency and Tusk can't hide behind smokescreens and the like.

Scots, Poles and many others around the globe are aware of the drive towards independence. Yoshi is a Japanese guy and I find that they are very aware of what their Chinese neighbours get up to.

We don't want to see the day when all the major powers are police states. The EU, America, Russia and China already have much apparatus in place to show that that exists to differing extents.

The battle for identification is one VERY much worth fighting. The Chechens, the Tibetans and the Ughyurs being but 3. Poland will not be trodden on, they must see the warning signs when they can but when your leader caters mainly to mafia elements....

There will always be such people. The Jews were said to be dishonest in business here but it's not like there are no cheats here either. The scale of the problem isn't that wide.

That's the way of the teacher :) I'm never at a loss at tea parties or dinners :) Many have that skill and it's a strength.

Funny, I really don't see much anti-Semitism here.

Yeah, some of the buildings are in dire need of repair.

Tripe is not that bad.

For many, it's just emotional dumping. Poland is as Poland is and we need to get on with it. Positive thoughts are much preferred.

I could never really hate Poland. I numb myself to the negative effects. But

1) No, sorry, I'm positive. We must see that the glass if half full and not half empty. My empty 0.5cl bottle of Ballantines leads me to that conclusion. We are guests here and, as guys, should appreciate what we have. Many Poles are hospitable and are happy to share what they have. I really see in them the potential that I saw in many Scots back home. The kind of folk that would really reach out to you to share in their humanity. God Bless them!!
