The recent scandal with troll factory organised by PiS politicians in the Ministry of Justice, together with PiS-nominated and -controlled judges, against independent judiciary, shows that PiS didn`t reform anything. They claimed to strive at replacing old pathology but instead of cleaning the system, they introduced another pathology - this time, their own - servile judges who will do any dirty job for a bowl of rice from PiS.
Fortunately, Poland is anchored in the EU which won`t allow PiS turn Polish judiciary system into their own troll factory. No way!

Those spices created a strange taste after being smoked. Similar to sth strongly herbal. I couldn`t predict it.
Thanks, but my family`s and my own tastes aren`t so well developed and we don`t mind mixing foods. They said that today`s chicken was delicious.
Good. That reminds me Orthodox Jews in NYC, seperate sink for dairy and another for meat.

Australia / My boyfriend [M28] in Australia all of sudden misses Poland that much and/or is feeling homesick? [14]
The reason is simple. He saw crocodiles roaming the streets of Australian towns. You won`t see such views in Poland.

Travel / Hiking around Zakopane/ Tatra mountains [33]
Be careful when hiking in the Tatra Mountains coz the weather is unpredictablem even ibn summer time. The news is tragic today - 4 people died and a few dozen are seriously injured after violent thunder storms caught umprepared hikers on Giewont Mount and others. Among them a Portuguese tourist. Rescuers say they have never experienced such a situation.

A little explanation.
Did you know that each school in Poland has a human patron? Usually, a famous Pole, but also can be a foreigner who contributed to Polish cause.
Chopin Primary School No 1 in ....... (location), Kosciuszko High School No 2 in ....... etc etc
Some of them are quite unusual, e..g, Kazimierz Górski - a famous football coach.
Sometimes, it is a group patron.
I was surprised decades ago to find out that schools in Great Britian/USA may have various names, also referring to location, e..g, Green Hill School.
Let`s have a look at some:

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1450]
Preparation of smoked sausage. I made 5 kilos last year and it was a failure coz I gave too many spices and the sausages had unusual taste disliked by my family. So, I had to eat all of them, the last piece before this summer.

UK, Ireland / "Strange " English language.. [264]
I constantly warn my students not to be surprised or even shocked when they actually go to an English speaking country and won`t understand much despite a few years of intensive education in Poland. Here, doing mostly British textbooks, they learn the English which is used by the queen and generally intelligent people, while in real life they run into colloquial, slangish everyday language.
I felt the same in the USA - I still remember those funny moments when I asked diner customers to repeat their orders coz I didn`t understand what they were talking about. Some of them got angry coz they thought I was fooling around. That was one of the reasons I was fired from the place. :):)

Very bad. Germany would be defeated this way or another - the USA developed an atomic bomb and was ready to use it. If Germans were too stubborn and refused unconditional surrender, Hamburg would have become a European Hiroshima. And then next German cities.
Secondly, Polish German alliance would directly involve Poles in Nazi crimes: the Holocaust and those committed in the lands occupied by Nazis.
After the war, Poles as accomplices would lose their Eastern territory but wouldn`t be granted Western ex German lands. Poland would look like in 11th century.

I only mow it. But I am working on sowing certain plant which grows low and covers the ground very exactly. I don`t know its name. I noticed it 5 years ago and been collecting seeds and scattering them in other places since then. And I see the results.
Yes, the barn is inhabited by giant spiders which shocked my kids when they saw them.
It's natural for them to want to burrow, but maybe she is bored on her own in her enclosure.
