cottbus - west

gorzow - central

no matter, if one is spitting distance from the other.

Is Cottbus Western Europe?

west

Gorzów

all the Polish places carrying this name would be in central europe.

as defined by this forum over many long hours.

Life / Rate Poland (Life Quality / Culture and People / Food): 1-10! [232]

Poland will have a major opportunity to advertise itself.

but won't.

the cities that host the games may do something. the rest of the country will be ignored.

quality of life: ok.

culture and people: good.

food: as stated earlier by me... bland.

Language / What were the first Polish words and phrases you have learned? [63]

"What were the first Polish words and phrases you have learned?"

1st goodbye
2nd goodnight

1st phrase: how are u today. i then learnt that noone in Poland actually uses it.

note: when one asks for a translation it is also worth asking if Poles would actually use it.

Please follow the directions mentioned by the OP, otherwise your post could well end up in the bin.

Real Estate / Cost to build in Eastern Poland - Ideally per m2 [71]

or leave exposed windows.

a lot of folks just use blinds... and/or lightweight drapes for decoration.

Are drapes now replacing window blinds in Poland?

No. i'd say it's the same as it's ever been.

Life / Do you think that Polish people are rude? [951]

Kiss a woman's hand? I've never seen that and if I tried it myself, I'd get a slap ;)
Offer to carry your heavy bags? Haven't seen that either.
Give seats to pregnant women? I'd hope so as that's just common decency.
I've only once seen sb give up their seat to an old person in a tram.

this doesn't say much for the locals where u live.
offering a seat to a pregnant woman is the most dangerous. "i can manage by myself, thank you".

History / What do Poles owe to Germans? [448]

The German language also influenced Polish and other Slavic languages

Polish sign language comes directly from German sign language. not that it helps me as i have limited use of ASL.
