Life / Can someone tell me about the reason behind being gay in Poland being wrong [148]

It stems from Catholicism and an overly judgemental attitude. Some people just can't leave things alone. If it isn't white and straight, it's trash! That kind of nonsense is prevalent! I've known gay men and have thought nothing of it. I actually went to a gay bar with all the straight guys from my school (one was gay). It was a bit uncomfortable in moments but generally was a laugh. They make for good dancers :)

History / Let's talk about the POLISH ARMY [79]

Eh, once again I refer you to pipeline proposals. I see you haven't watched many documentaries on the rationale for the war there, plk.

Because you are invading the land of a sovereign country.

No, they weren't. Please read up on Hamid Karzai when he was a consultant for Unocal and you'll see.

I know the terrain but have you watched videos where Apaches scour the whole area and give signals to the ground troops of their position? Highly effective IMHO. I keep recommending this book and I recommend Poles to read it. 'Modlitwa o deszcz' by Wojciech Jagielski :) He shows the nature of the terrain very well and I've watched umpteen videos now.

No but it's more theirs than it is NATO's.

None of the hijackers were Afghans. Read up on Carl Schwarz and his commentary on Brightest Corp. They tied up a case in the courts involving the Taliban. It's all about oil, plk123. Going after the Taliban was lunacy. The CIA hires agents to do their bidding for them.

Possibly but I doubt it.

There are various accounts on the net, plk.

Look at pipeline routes, there's your sign ;) ;)

Do you think they would have beheaded Stanczak had the Polish army not been in Afghanistan? It costs a lot for the army to be there and what benefits does it bring? A reduction in terrorism? No, it merely brings the hornets out of the nest and we are fed bogus stats to make us believe we are winning. Claptrap!

They sustained heavy casualties in Afghanistan and for what? To make Poland a future target for terrorists? Bravo! Doesn't a 42-country NATO coalition, with the help of elite special forces from around the world, have the might to overcome a group of frail, old men with old weapons? We are being sold a joke on a daily basis through newspapers. Yeah, Russia failed but they were but one country in unfamiliar terrain. The Taliban will only be defeated by dying of laughter and that's it.

I'm not gonna compliment any troops here as we made an enemy of the Taliban. The CIA sells drugs and launders money so why can't the Taliban do it in their own country? At least they don't meddle in many other countries like the CIA does.

Life / SOME OBSERVATIONS ABOUT POLAND AND POLISH SOCIETY [297]

It seems to be acceptable not to thank sb for a service given. When I directed a guy the other day (he was in a car), he just drove off without saying thank you. What a prize twat!

Genealogy / Do Polish people have big noses? [450]

Many do, some don't ;) ;) Relative to other nations, very much so. Just look at the recent photo of Pudzian squaring up with Najman. Look around cities and you'll see many examples of pinocchio :)

Food / What is your favorite Polish Vodka? [653]

I was gonna correct you before by saying it is Dutch but I need to check more sources as the ones I'm checking are telling me it's Polish.

Food / What is your favorite Polish Vodka? [653]

Probably better than this Wyborowa although I will likely try the lemon one on Sunday. I gave it to my father-in-law today as a birthday present so he will likely crack it open on Sunday. I hope he chills it as vodka needs to be chilled. I miss those kamikaze drinks filled with sth blue (blue curacao??). They are brain-freeze drinks, wonderful! Filled with ice and they sink down the hatch ever so easily.

Food / What is your favorite Polish Vodka? [653]

I'm sipping on Pear Wyborowa. My mother-in-law gave me some lemon vodka (2 shots) on Saturday which gave me a taste for it. However, I looked at the bottle as I pulled it out from the fridge and saw it was pear. Ah well, pear vodka is not bad.

It has a harsh quality to it, this one. Wyborowa usually do better but I'm only gonna have 2 shots anyway as it's calorific stuff, vodka. Polish shots, of course :) :)

News / Poles drinking more than ever, as incomes rise. [32]

Giving yourself a good floppy shakedown helps too. If your body doesn't move then your mind tends to be static too. A good stiff one might help too. I didn't think I could use floppy and stiff on the same thread :)

They are drinking more as the drinking tables are out on the rynek :)

Life / Polish patriotic music! [44]

I think Gregorian chants, being endorsed and reawakened by the RCC towards the end of the last century, could class as patriotic. I have almost 3 hours worth which I can listen to on WinAmp. It is inextricably associated with Roman Catholicism but I just like the melodies.

This is the music of Jesus :) :) :)

Language / Do Poles prefer US American or UK English language? [185]

Indeed he was! However, Benn was also a top-notch striker. Eubank go to him. There is an instructional video on Youtube where Lennox Lewis teaches Eubank how to coil. He thinks Eubank lacked that technique and helped him out.

Reducing stress and tension. Sometimes it's just oxygen deficiency or a lack of hydration. A little rest on the bed can work wonders. I do that before work. 30 mins of just lying down and putting your mind into a neutral gear. It works wonders!

Law / Poland's going forward while Britain is still trying to wake up [86]

A fresh start? Many didn't live to see it. Poland has done very well in the last 20 years to rebuild itself. Wałęsa and Balcerowicz were over-ambitious and, in hindsight, unrealistic. However, they can't be blamed for trying. They gave it a good shot! Kwaśniewski took Poland into NATO which was motivated by safety concerns. Sensible at the time! Now? That's a matter of debate but Poles wanted it then so democracy manifested itself. Tusk needs to be careful of leading Poland down wrong paths. No more so than in the banking industry.
