Genealogy / Polish and gypsy traditions [140]

Yes that is true a lot of htem are friendly though if they know and accept you, they're actually known for partying and probably one of the most famous polish songs of the 90's was bania u cygana - party at the gypsy's (house)

Polish gypsies speak Polish and some of em even look a little Polish but generally darker skinned. They don't have a good reputation in Poland, even worse in Czechy and Romania. It's improved but the pockets a lot of they occupy are still known for petty crimes.

But yes you'll often find like 10 or even dozens of them together all in a house or some random evening. Their culture has always encouraged them to be kind of like outcasts and have their own communities. If he freaked out over something you figured to be fairly normal when meeting a guy it's likely due to a culture clash which if he's very ingrained in won't budge.

Polish gypsies are much different to Poles which are more westernized Slavs and act more like Europeans save for a few nuances but families generally are nuclear now and there aren't really much care about relationships despite the church's teachings. Family is of course in Polish culture important but they're not quite like the gypsy traditions. Gypsy traditions have very strict extended family rules and the family structure is quite unique. The girls typically remain virgins too but then marry very young. The young ones often dress extremely provocative but the ones that abide by tradition will rarely if ever have sex with a guy outside of marriage.

News / Goodbye Sunday Shopping in Poland - Hello Electoral Reform [246]

@Tacitus

It clearly says (see link to eus website) that countries are to maintain 60% debt to gdp. Eu only enforces the parts of treaties and laws as it desires which only adds to more evidence of brushless clear political bias. Acyually it even tries to enforce rules and laws that were never agreed upon like the redistribution of migrants.

@doug

Be with the plebs for an hour huh? Sorry to break it to you doug but your also in the polish middle class

Said debt requirement only affects the Euro members, not the EU.

WRONG - Germany, Greece, France (almost 100% debt to gdp), Spain, Italy (132% ddebt to gdp), Portugal (130%) etc should all be penalized then as all have higher debt to GDP than 60% and use euro. Sshouldn't people who aren't meeting the standards of the EU be fined and punished? Shouldn't corrective actions, sanctions, etc be taken against these countries who are not meeting their 'obligations'? Afterall they're not obeying EU rules and the 'spirit' of the union. They're showing lack of solidarity and not confirming to the EU's requirements. Isn't that what the lefitsts prattle about Poland, Hungary, etc all the time?

Seems to me the EU only enforces leftist agendas against countries, especially the conservative leaning ones who reject their political interference, but doesn't care about nations as long as they toe the EU's neo-Maxist, pseudo USSR line.

Yeah a lot of my family members and friends are against it. To me it has good intentions, but isn't being implemented well and is somewhat impractical. It'd be better to encourage other ways of making Sunday a day of rest.

It has actually a rather high annual budget deficite:

Compared to other EU nations, its nothing. Most the countries would be kicked out of EU if they actually enforced the debt to gdp requirements. Not Poland though as we're below 60% Perhaps we should kick Germany, Greece, and all the other countries drowning in liabilities and leverage out of the EU.

Lock her up.

Sunday shopping ban asserts our break from the western material consumerist mindless world. As polish catholics sunday we ought to know sundayss for family and a lot of older ppl go.to church. Plus it gives loe wage workers a day off and people who rly need money will find work n e way

Inflation and growth will cancel each other out if theyre equal. Same as with wages if inflation outpaces your income growth your making less monkey

No ones saying 2% inflation is too high. But yes youre right inflation was a tad bit below 2%, not 2%. Hence theyre stagnant as low inflation means no borrowing and cheap credit while low gdp rate means no additional economic growth from last year. The inflation is too low as it falls outside the ideal 3 to 4% for a developed nation. Germany has not only stagnant growth but no demand for credit to spur growth. Not good

And what deficit are you talking about? Polamd has no budget deficit, public debt to gdp is right around 50%. Keep in mind if the eu requirement for debt was enforced as written in the treaties a bunch of countries would be kicked out. But eu only enforces laws it wants.

Germany is 68% debt to gdp polands is a lot lower. Poland is growing faster than just about anyome in europe. Double nomimal gdp simce 1990 amd we even took care of our high unemployment which is super low even by eu standards. Wages are rising too as are property values. Theres so many jobs with continually increasing wages that poland had to import ukranians to take the low wage entry level ones

Ah here it is countries cannot have higher than 60% debt to gdp. Germany must be sanctioned for having 68%. Time to trigger article 1738264 against them.

consilium.europa.eu/en/policies/joining-the-euro-area/convergence-criteria

Can we dissolve the eu now already if this is going to keep pushing agendas which countless european citizens reject? No ones really meeting all their supposed commitment to the eu and germanys clearly not committed to the eus strict requirements for financial stability

Actually polands classification from emerging to developed market changed sometime around 2017.

And even with 2% inflation, which isnt a healthy number as it shows stagnation and should be closer to between 3% amd 4%, that means germany grew .2% after 2% inflation is subtracted. So basically growth was nonexistent. And growth is measured by percentage, not increased/decreased nominal/real gdp.

Of course some retail businesses will have slightly smaller reveneus. People will adjust and shop during the other 6 days of thr week. The reason why this was passed is so people could enjoy a day off. Most shops are closed on holidays. Also switzerland Norway and austria also have limitations on sunday shopping with austria having a total ban. Its high time for people to spend sundays with family and friends - not enriching corporations. Hopefully this law is adjusted to only allow small businesses to remain open and foreign corporations must remain closed to give polish small biz a leg up while promoting sunday as a day for family and rest.

I am somewhat against this in its current form though as itll disproportionately affects students who work on weekends.

Which ones?

Poland has a higher GDP growth rate than just about every single EU nation. GDP is relative to a nation. China has a far higher GDP than Germany yet most would say Germans live better than Chinese.

Germany grew 2.2%

That doesn't even cover the standard 3, 3.5% inflation so if they're growing only 2.2%, their economy is actually contracting.

"Greater Poland"

Well, Poland's standing waaaay better than most EU nations. They're experiencing a boom while others are at best stagnant or have minimal growth. Plus we don't have to with terrorism and thousands of rapes by invaders or spending $20 bil a year to house and feed economic migrants. In fact, Poland's getting stronger every day. Even a ton of analysts and economists said a Polexit would impact the EU more profoundly than Brexit due to the political and social ramifications.

Why do 800,000 Poles live in Britain?

Poles come to UK - not the other way around. They come for the jobs and opportunities. What's your reason for living in Poland despite constantly criticizing my fellow countrymen and our society and culture?

Your society is in America.

Indeed it is. It is where I grew up. Doesn't change the fact that I am by birth, blood, and citizenship Polish.

you are too far gone to see the truth

And what truth exactly is that? Maybe you can share some economic knowledge with me like the existence of your so called 'standard of living index' and show me that the World Bank is incorrect to label Poland an 'upper income country'

Than why are you in Poland? You constantly criticize the people, the country, our society and values yet you continue living there. Could it be because you prefer Polish society over Britains? I don't see any other reason why a person would willingly move to a poorer country. It's Poles who go to UK for opportunities - not the other way around.

As I said, back in the day it would have meant relinquishing British citizenship but you obviously prefer to gloss over that pertinent fact.

No, I simply don't care what your excuses are for not getting Polish citizenship. Till you get your Polish citizenship, by law and by the constitution you have less say in Poland's matters than a Polish citizen.

USA, Canada / Car Export from USA / Canada to Poland [30]

Nice car man - I love AMG's...

Yes, you will pay a larger tax due to engine size. Also, you'll spend a lot of money filling up that beautiful engine's gas tank. Gas is far pricier in PL than US/Canada. V8's are pretty rare on even the larger German cars in PL - a lot use smaller turbo'd engines, diesels, etc. Even a 3.5l V6 is considered a fairly large engine by Polish standards.

I know about the process shipping from US but not really Canada. I'm guessing its pretty similar as PL is the destination. Generally you have to own the car for a while I believe 1 year or pay a very large tax (something like a third of the value). Back in the day you could send a crate and it would rarely get inspected.. Now there's 3 dudes that inspect each crate - 2 doing an inspection 1 videotaping everything.

It has nothing to do with you,

Actually, as a Polish citizen, taxpayer, property owner, business owner, and ethnic Pole it absolutely does. If Polish citizens don't want migrants from ME/Africa - that is OUR right - as in the right of Polish citizens and voters and the people they decide to represent them - in this case PiS who has by far the largest support of any part. 3/4 of Poles reject migration from ME/AFRICA according to CBOS. Poles also firmly reject changing the institute of marriage to include non hetero couples. Hence, why our country isn't cucked and isn't facing the sort of cultural enrichment via suicide bombings, stabbings, beheadings, truck attacks, etc.

Sick of repeating the fact.

Same. By the constitution, Polish citizens have greater rights than residents and other individuals. If you don't like it get your citizenship and stop whining.

News / Goodbye Sunday Shopping in Poland - Hello Electoral Reform [246]

Of course, because it's extra capital for Poland. Why wouldn't we negotiate to get billions of dollars?

There's countries far poorer than Poland in terms of nominal gdp, ppp, etc yet they chose to give the money to Poland. Why? Because our country uses the money far wiser than say Greece, Portugal, etc. and gives investors the type of ROI with minimal risk that they seek. Also, they gave them additional money because they saw Poland was paying it back. It's the same basic principle of banking if you borrow someone $1mln and they repay it on time, you're going to actually encourage them to borrow the same amount or more. They could've gone to far poorer countries and gave them money for 'development' yet they chose Poland because they knew they'd make a good ROI with far less risk than other nations. The problem is while this bought an influx of FDI and raised living standards, it has put key industries in foreign, and hence potentially subversive, hands.

Also the 'loan' that world bank gave Poland wasn't even a full 1 bil usd. Furthermore, it was to spur FURTHER growth

"The challenge for Poland is to sustain such impressive growth." said Theo Thomas, Lead Economist and the Task Team Leader for the operation. "The reforms supported by these loans will help ensure that the economy remains competitive and flexible in the face of potential economic shocks. This will support the recovery in investment and employment to ensure that Poland's prosperity continues to be widely shared."

worldbank.org/en/news/press-release/2015/07/23/economic-growth-and-resilience-in-poland

.It has challenges to face which have to be addressed

Yes, like asserting our sovereignty and independence towards the EU, gaining more populist allies, letting Italy join V4, refusing entry to all illegal migrants, people who don't have a visa, keeping our society socially conservative and Christian, etc., and buying up more shares in strategic industries like media and banking. Also, Israel needs to be taught that they don't have a monopoly on the Holocaust. Perhaps that could be a new twitter hashtag? #IsraeliHolocaustMonopoly

News / Israel opposing potential new Polish law to criminalise term 'Polish death camps' [1539]

anti semitic the Polish are and many conspired with the Nazis.

Poles don't care. If we wanted to really reveal the truth about Jews in Poland we'd discuss how Jews allied with the invading Red Army (and before WW2 the Bolsheviks) and killed tens of thousands of people - including AK soldiers who supported the Jewish saving group Zegota. The Red Army and Stalin had it so easy to establish Communism in Poland thanks to all the Polish Jews who sided with Communism and killed, tortuted, and jailed their fellow countrymen - including those who had helped Jews just years earlier.

Trying to rewrite history might work for Polands image at home but you're not really fooling anyone else but yourselves.

No one's trying to rewrite history. We're merely breaking the Israeli monopoly on the Holocaust. The Jews conspired with the Nazis too. The very architect of Nazi ideology was a Jew - Alfred Rosenberg (what an Aryan name). In fact, many of the rival groups within the Nazi party (SA, SS, SD, Gestapo, etc) would often criticize Rosenberg and Nazi's who hired him as he 'didn't have a drop of German blood'

Doesnt change the fact that by world standards poland is ranked by the world bank as an upper income country. But surely you know better than the world bank

Polans cities are wealthy but no not countrydide side as anywherr the rural areas are poorer. In pl that difference is more stark thus driving down avg wage

Oh and poland is categorically rated as 'very high' for human development, a developed nation, and is considered a high income country. Afganistan is poor russia is poor poland is not. But of course you know better than the world bank econonomists phds and credit rating agencies...

Yup poland is poor
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Bank_high-income_economy

And theres no such economic or financial index as the 'standard of living index' lololol.

I just think you dont like the fact that theres so many successful people in Poland and the country is doing so well

Have you heard of purchasing power parity aka ppp per capita? Its over $30k avg in poland, higher than greece hungary and roughly equal to czechy and a lil lower than austria and purchasing power is what matters for you. Even frances is a only a tad over 40k usd ppp. Hahaha greece? Greeces entire economy is worth polands exports alone. Sorry doug economics and business isnt ur thing. Poland only seems poor because of your mindset. Theres as maby porsches bmws mercrdes in wroclaw per capita as any major western city.

@Dougpol1

Poland told the imf to stuff it. Poor country? It has consistently ranks as 23rd largest world economy Poland has a larger economy than greece austria denmark sweden belgium czechy hungary etc and is very close to holland. And no the economy is driven by services, of which retail is a part of, just like all upper income developed countries. And poland isnt emulating germany at all infact theyre consistently doimg the opposite namely having healthy growth and not spending more on migramts than education.

Id much sooner call a country that welcomed invading parasites that literally rape amd pillage a dumb foolish country. Poland certainly has problems but atleast it isnt cucked. Theres no polish cops telling people not to wave polish flags because it may provoke migrants.

If the majority of poles dont like it im sure itll change. In wroclaw one mall is open because its like outdoors or some loophole that allows it to remain open

I was thinking about that but it's unlikely to happen. Poland wants US for its security so they'll likely cave - which is pretty sad imo. This wouldn't of been such a big deal under Obama but Trump is a huge Zionist especially due to his time in NYC and his daughters marriage. He'll sell Poland out real quick for Israel. Poland could use this to break free from US and foreign pressure but I doubt itll happen. They can't fight two fronts either they've already distanced themselves from EU's leadership and are doing their own thing. Poland can' yet secure itself from Russia which unfortunately would be the first to attack us.
