Free standing houses use different variation of coal/wood central heating.

some people in the countryside use LPG installations for heating - but LPG is more than 60 per cent expensive than coal heating (although it obviously clean and requires little attention) - LNG (methane) is cheaper than LPG but a bit more expensive than coal - also most cities and towns are connected to LNG grid so you don't need a gas tank

You have no idea the minimum amount of electricity those Sun Heat heaters even use.

I don't know, maybe they use some other electric phenomenon that I don't know of because regular electric heater use electric resistence as the source of heat and this just simply costs too much

don't know, maybe they use some other electric phenomenon that I don't know

just looked up Sunheat website - they claim their heaters operate on infrared radiation - maybe it is a cheaper way of heating with electricity

What's smarter now...to keep using a dirty but cheap energy source

I don't know what is smarter in the long run - what I know is that with current technology it is pretty expensive and probably not economic to store electric energy so you cannot have just solar panels as your energy source (think night) - although I heard that IBM has recently achieved a breakthrough with battery technology which sounds promising but as far as I know it is not in the commercial phase as yet.

Shuck out money NOW and live cleaner and cheaper later FOREVER!

I just don't have the money - you know sometimes even taking a credit for a thing you desire is too expensive

So....investing lotsa money first into...say....solar panels would come alot cheaper in the long run, don't you think?

you have to have this money in the first place - also you have to have a suitable location for the panels

Is it really cheaper when you factor in all the respiratory health i

I don't have respiratory issues :) :P

electric heating is the most expensive (more than twice as expensive) in Poland (unless you inherited a sizeable set of photovoltaics, i mean solar panels)

Neither is good

I want my coal unless you provide me with equally cheap alternative - the simple thing is coal is the cheapest way to heat your home in Poland - even the LNG heating is more expensive not mentioning the prohibitive cost of such installations if you are not in the reach of LNG grid - I have no reason to care for smog because I live in a forest - so while I agree that there are areas where smog is an issue and they surely have to consider ways of dealing with the issue I cannot be even asked to have a 20 000 PLN LNG installation in my home because I simply don't have the 20 000

a 20 000

ok I checked the going prices - and LNG installation costs about 7 000 PLN - which doesn't change the fact that I don't have it - so unless there is an overall ban on coal in this country or there is a program of significant subsidies I won't be having and LNG installation any time soon

here - Germans are opening new coal powered power plant in Ruhr Gebiet : -

- it transpires that German coal is clean as opposed to Polish coal

the volume of the oceans on earth is around 1,4 billion cubic kilometers - this is about 4 billion times more than the volume your source states as the data for the melting of Greenland and Antarctica

CO2 and the consequential warming of the atmosphere will see less clouds which in turn can no longer stop the sun light which.....

you can't read, man - you stated (ok quoted) a simulation revealed that there is a tipping point of CO2 atmosphere content where stratus clouds dissapear - the problem is this level of CO2 is three times bigger than now and that that level with current rise of CO2 in the atmosphere would take hundreds of years - I guess you learn as you go - otherwise you just gobble the nonsense that we are at the brink of a disaster

co za idiota wprowadził ten limit cytowania to nie wiem

Where is the data in support of the sea level going up?

on a nasa website Bratwurst linked

ok so what is the content of CO2 in the atmosphere now? what is the 'tipping point' in the simmulation you mention? - seriously use some of your intuition more

your graph - you probably never paid the attention to what you see just confirms what I said: the sea levels rose less than 10cm in the last 30 year

High concentrations of atmospheric carbon dioxide can result in the dispersal of cloud banks that reflect roughly 30% of the sunlight that hits them."

to be honest I never heard of this simulation - anyway simulations can often change drammatically with a small change of various factors - also i read (the information was hacked like back in 2007 or 2008) that top climate scientists were manipulating (giving false data actually) data to suit their theories and they cooperated globally for the purpose

Yeah....I'm so happy I don't live in the south or near the sea either...*eye roll*

you weren't even able to give the data of how much the sea level rose in the last 20 years - my assumption of 15cm is probably nothing more than that - (my guess would be less than 10 cm

There is flooding and it was (and is) in the news plenty of times.

yeah sure- as Atch stated the sea levels rose 30 cm since 1880 - that really is terryfing - millions of people would die - aaaaaaaaa! - fear mongering

quantamagazine.org/cloud-loss-could-add-8-degrees-to-global-warming-20190225/

do you understand the word could? do you understand that like 15 years ago we didn't even have real time satelite cloud imagery

. the guy looks like he knows what he's talking about.

as I said there are no complementary researches so far on global cloud cover - just think of how much different is a cloudy day during the summer compared to a cloudless one

I hear the same thing from farmers and hunters all over Poland. One has to be blind not to see it...

I am not denying this - the point is maybe we look for the reason where it is not - just look at the year 2010: -20 celsius and 40cm of snow in late November and a pretty long and snowy winter altogther

.that in turn is threatening all coastal settlements..

you couldn't even say what impact the warming of the climate has so far on the sea levels -

as I said I am not a climate change denier - and I understand that the obvious culprit seems to be humankind's emmission of CO2 - but there are other possible factors at play - there's for example much more water vapour in the air than c02 which is also creating a greenhouse efffect - we don't know the average cloud cover in the past for the most part which highly influences albedo especially during summers

as for the poles - the talk is about melting of ice cover in the arctic during notrh hemisphere summers - the point is that this is not where most of frozen water there is on Earth as exemplified by no obvious marking in the rising of sea levels

much more flooding

you mention things that are not obviouse direct outcomes of the rising sea levels (more flooding, more extreme weather) - also I asked for recent data say covering the time since year 2000 -

I am not a climate change denier - but we should be precise with data or otherwise it is just fear mongering - maybe there are other factors in play than man-emitted CO2 in the climate change btw - a couple of years ago I quoted in one of debates here a source in NOAA (i guess you know what NOAA is) that stated that we still don't have perfect models for predicting cloud forming - just think for a moment how much difference cloud cover makes on a summer day

you post some basic google search for "rising sea levels" and you expect me to believe it's all over the news - I asked a serious question how much did the sea level rise - about 15 cm? more? and there were voice from other forums users who reported their own findings - but talk to the brainwashed

for all who read this and who are not bothered to look up the diagrams Bratwurst posted - they say nothing about how much sea levels rose - only how much they are predicted to rise based on certain assumptions or in a very long perspective

man you're beyond pale - you don't even read the diagrams you post - I feel free not to look up your other links because of that

Because you can't see it it isn't happening? Are you kidding me???

you must be kidding yourself and everyone else - if there were a flooding because of the rising sea levels it would be in all news all the time - alarmist scientists would be constantly howling and forecasting catastrophic dooms - I happen to read a lot of the internet and nothing like that happened - so yeah kid yourself some more
