Food / Poles have a more loving attitude to food than here in the UK [169]

Now I am checking the student`s book and it is equally confusing. In one exercise pancakes is called an item of food, while in the workbook - a meal.
Surprise, surprise - there is no meal entry in the dictionary at the end of Unit 2.
Poor students learn that pancakes is a meal. What is breakfast? Also a meal. Everything is a meal, in fact :):):):

I am bothered by that mess coz until the end of their education, many Polish students mix up words dish and meal which may matter at final exams. Then they write or say: traditional Polish meals are full of calories. And examiners have to guess what they mean by that.

UK, Ireland / The "Paracetamol Myth" - Polish people hesitate to visit UK doctors. [51]

Certain scientific study offered surprising conclusions in 2022:
Objective:
The aim of the study was to compare and assess the quality of health services in Poland and Great Britain prior to the SARS COVID-19 pandemic.

Results:
There was a statistically significant difference in the average assessments of health services in Poland and Great Britain. The availability of primary health care services and specialist services, other than gynaecology, in Poland was rated higher. In addition, the quality and costs of treatment received a much higher average score in the evaluation of Polish health care compared to the British system.

UK, Ireland / Brexit complications for UK nationals [49]

Brexit was the dirty trick played on the UK by English nationalists and stupid voters who allowed to be brainwashed by the tricksters.

Why not British nationalists if the case concerns whole Great Britain and not only England???

Simple.
There is no such thing as a British nationalist because there is no such thing as a British nation. There is the English nation and its colonies and ethnic minorities. Of the English colonies they lost the more distant ones, they kept the close ones they acquired the earliest and they probably will not lose them again, only the Irish managed to regain most of their island. Scotland has no chance of leaving the Union. They have too many white settlers from England and Scottish Volksdeutsche to win a referendum. There is no point in mentioning Wales at all.

Food / Poles have a more loving attitude to food than here in the UK [169]

Even if there are purely British dishes like haggis, they are viewed as inedible by most Brits.

While Poles/Polesses enjoy a wide range of national dishes, invented in old Poland with local ingredients, which are delicious both to natives and foreigners.

News / Does Poland support Taiwan`s independence? [54]

We still do, like we support Ukraine`s independence.

Chinese leaders only rattle their sabres but they fully realise that starting a war means a disaster for their country. If they do, they will be blocked completely in the sea and their whole trade with the world will come to a sudden halt. It is enough to check the map of their sea routes. They will be cut off in the straits between Malaysia and Sumatra and on the route through the Philippines to the Pacific, and that is where all Chinese trade flows.

It is enough for Taiwan`s allies to place 3 air carrier task forces around the place and China is cooked.

Off-Topic / Coup in South Korea [44]

In result, the coup organisers will soon be arrested and tried.

The prediction from early December is becoming true now. A few days ago 3000 police officers overpowered their president`s security/loyal military and arrested the rascal.

a more loving attitude to food than here in the UK

This big problem of Brits` less loving attitude to food might be a result of the lack of traditional dishes which are purely British and still tasty. E.g,, fish and chips is a French invention, not British.
Even if there are purely British dishes like haggis, they are viewed as inedible by most Brits.

Not Żeromski. It was Stanisław Lem who wrote a comedy play about travelling to other worlds - during one journey the protagonists visit a planet whose inhabitants put special devices on their heads which block thinking and make them imbeciles for good mood.

Ironside probably put it on one day and can`t take off. hahahaha

Good. The state of absolute oblivion is just perfect for imbeciles. They don`t have to worry about so many things in life and in result are on cloud nine all the time.
Do you know which famous Polish writer introduced that motif into literature????? Ha!!!!
