It turns out that the man who drove his car over a woman protestor was from the regime's Secret Police (he'll face no charges over this). It's hard to imagine this wasn't intimidation by the regime; the linked video shows that it was obviously deliberate.

Have you seen some of the slogans that the thousands of (mostly young) people are carrying:
"Ducktatorship!"
"Keep the cat, leave beavers alone!"
"Poland is like the Smurf village: the main threat is an old guy with a cat"
"Tak się zacznie wielki bój: milion cipek - jeden chuj!"

It doesn't bode well for the regime long (or even medium) term.

Not all. Perhaps not even most. The people you see out and about who have Down's Syndrome are not necessarily typical of the majority of those who have it. Not everyone with Down's have the same traits associated with it. Many have very complex health needs, varying cognitive abilities and dual diagnoses of learning disabilities and mental illness.

Have you spent much time in long-term special care facilities.

And in any case, it isn't about that; it is about women choosing whether or not to continue with pregnancies.

I wondered that too, however I had a look at possible places the parts of Belarus and Ukraine that were formerly Russian-held Poland and couldn't find anything. That doesn't mean there couldn't have been another settlement with that name, however certainly the Mirosław near Płock was in Russian Poland.

Here's a link to a satellite photo. It's a tiny place, just south-east of Płock. I've been on the main road close to it a few times; as I recall it's a pleasant area.

Yes, something is certainly changing underneath in Polish society. PiS seems to have lost its self-surviving instint

There's a kind of febrile panic within PiS as Jaro gets older and iller.

First, those non-sensical attacks on the LGBT in the presidential campaign

Individual politicians trying to get endorsement from the church is but one part of that.

And now abortions, something they've totally misplaid and should have known better given the strength of the czarny piątek moivement.

I know they use a different type of oven, one they specially imported; it produces different results.

Try a meal there; you'll be pleasantly surprised between what they sell and the usual Warsaw fare.

The cost and availability is therefore an issue that would deter me from using lamb.

There used to be an excellent 'Bosnian-Croatian' kebab shop on Chmielna (a busy 'going out' street in Warsaw). They had excellent bread, a big takeaway counter, a few tables inside and delicious kebabs; maybe the best in Warsaw.

It's closed now; the product was too unfamiliar with the market sector who buy kebabs (people on their way home late at night after beer, and single people after work). That market is unadventurous and just wanted the basic ones. Kebab shops that sell far inferior products thrive in a good 'after the pub' location, better quality ones need to be in a better place. If it had been by the university, it may have done well.

Absolutely zero. What can someone objectively say about African people in Poland if they've never been to Poland or Africa.

Have a look at Cucciolina on ul. Kopińska. Probably the best pizza I've ever eaten, including in Italy.
