If Jesus ran a wine merchants (a missed opportunity for Him, given certain skills), he'd serve tiny amounts to taste and always put a bad one in the mix so the better ones stand out.

So inflation in the EU is not a problem.

Or is it a problem
Anywhere else in Europe except parts of the Balkans. If Bulgaria enters the Eurozone it will be Greece squared.

The EU is extremely authoritarian. geez! Still, they are extremely incompetent, too

They aren't particularly authoritarian as an organisation (at least no more than you'd expect a trade association to be) however yes, they're mired in crippling bureaucracy and have a ridiculous librerum veto which strangles progress.

she is normally using Bombay Sapphire

The wine that Napoleon loved. 🍷

Not my favourite specimen of humanity, but even fanatical tyrants can have good taste in wine.

Gevrey-Chambertin is of course cheaper than Le Chambertin and there's never a bad bottle.

In 199-whatever when the French had their bicentennial of their murderous revolution, there was the official wine of that, a Marsannay with a tricolour on the bottle. It was pleasant enough and we drank plenty however if you tasted it next to a good Marsannay the difference leapt out at you right away.

Something to watch out for with French wines

Bordeaux

I tend to prefer them from the other side, Côtes du Rhône and further north. A lot about the variety and depth. Marketed differently too so you can find some excellent wines at reasonable prices

News / Polish universities for Polish students (only?) [57]

Too bad, Poland needs specialists

True, however Harvard is in the top ten worldwide so it's likely that any victims of trumpetism will want to go to another that at least is in the top 50.

Really, given how bright the cohort of students is that trup is bizarrely excluding, I'd expect universities slightly further down the league tables to be competing to get some of them.
