Life / Why does Poland need racial diversity? Opinions [67]

IQ tests are not a reliable measure by any account, especially as the Asian culture is orientated heavily towards test-taking and not on real world abilities.

Now, can you imagine a situation when a black/Asian student stands up and recites classic pieces of Polish literature?

Been there, seen that. I invited a black guy to the school where I work to perform a reading of part of Pan Tadeusz (in English). Quite good fun, because it was a novelty - even other teachers were captivated by it. He was very well spoken, and he read the poem beautifully. I found him in some local theatre club, and he was more than happy to do it.

Showing kids about the world is so important, IMO.

He suggested they must be gay. Well, not necessarily.

On the other hand:

Hmm. Maybe the member has a point ;)

And in a meantime it can be done by Ukrainians on a temporary work visas like it is being done right now.

Ukrainians don't want to pack chickens, not when they have options. That's why chicken factories are for Indians.

Check this article about Polish pupils in the UK

Thank you pawian, most interesting. I caught my 4th class kids once using the word "n!gger" freely, so we had two of our "lekcje wychowawcze" dedicated to the topic. First class was mostly about getting them to use all the word and phrases they know to refer to people of different colour (for that class, they were told explicitly that they wouldn't get into trouble for using bad language). We spoke about it, I asked them if they'd call football players/celebrities "******"and so on, and got them thinking about what they were actually saying. For the second class, I brought in some guests - one guy from Africa who had played football professionally in Poland, one girl who was studying medicine here from the Middle East and one guy from China who was a very successful restaurateur.

Was quite interesting when I pulled out their racist work from the previous class and asked them if they would repeat it to their faces. Let's say the point was made and apologies were given ;) I didn't have any problems with them since then, unsurprisingly.

Classifieds / Are you from Asia/Africa/Middle East and want to work in Poland (EU VISA/TRC)? [2]

I'm willing to help you find a job in Poland. I can direct you to employers that will provide you with a work permit and residence permit, and you can earn up to $1000 a month easily. I don't charge for my services, I only want employers here to fill their vacancies. After 5 years work in Poland, you're eligible for a permanent residence card (PRC). If you find yourself a lovely local partner, you can get permanent residence after just 3 YEARS and Polish citizenship after 5 years

Work is mostly in factories, for instance, packing chicken or other meats. It's not hard work, and English is widely spoken.

I think it's worth using this thread to point out that there are many job offers available for those from non-EU countries to work in Poland.

For instance: facebook.com/groups/workINpoland/permalink/2214936648579534/

GOOD JOB IN OPOLE
FOR INDIANS PEOPLE

Kind of job :
packing chicken ‼️

Offers like this are all over Poland, and there are factories where the workforce is mostly Asian. It's a very positive trend.

Indians are also considered to be very interesting for Polish women, and you can find more and more mixed marriages. Of course, Indians are also all about family, meaning that children quickly follow.

History / Cursed soldiers controvercy - not all Poles respect them [282]

Yes, but the reason for Hitler's appointment was not that the NSDAP received 33% of the vote.

The strange thing to me remains the behaviour of other parties at that time. Why the conservative parties supported Hitler is an utter mystery to me, especially given that they had no means of controlling him.

appointed

I believe this is a general quirk of European political systems - leaders of governments are appointed by the head of state, but that they then have to command a majority in their parliament in order to be confirmed in their position. They never win election directly, but are simply the person that the head of state feels has a chance of winning a vote of confidence.

Personally, I'm not a fan of this system. Leaders of governments should have to win their place through parliament first, IMO.

Life / Polish women fight for their rights - manifa and other events [281]

Courts have already ruled that there's no case to answer. The "insult to national symbols" law is practically unenforceable, which is why you can now find the emblem on energy drinks.

youtube.com/watch?v=gqcsSvdE5Rg reminds me a lot about respect.

The problem was that the Weimar Republic was doomed to fail from the beginning. It was structurally a mess and very badly organised, and it's not a surprise that they ended up with a strongman ruling when there was such chaos and dysfunction.

National symbols are abused daily in Poland and without reaction from the authorities. I wince every time I see a "patriot" with the eagle on his trousers while drinking an energy drink with the eagle on it.

I am more optimistic.

I wish I could share your optimism, but then again, when the voice against women's rights in Poland comes from a basement in Canada, I suppose you might well be right.

Having said that, the latest poll showing 52% of Poles to be in favour of abortion until 12 weeks certainly means that there's some movement on this topic.

I fear that Poland is headed in the opposite direction - women in cities won't have problems speaking out, but those in smaller towns in Eastern Poland will face more and more barriers. I've been reading recently about the problems accessing the morning-after-pill in Warsaw, so I can only imagine how bad it is elsewhere.

That too. People always boast about Poland being 'safe for women', but those of us living here know that the society and culture often prevents them from speaking out, especially in smaller towns and villages. Many women are discouraged from following through with reports, or are subjected to humiliating processes. And that's assuming they find the courage to even report such situations.

A surgeon has been accused of molesting over 80 female patients. It happened from 2006 to 2017.

The sad thing is that his colleagues probably knew about it, but were stopped from speaking out by the 'omerta' that exists in the medical field in Poland.

They're not pushing for a second referendum because they're afraid that Brexit would win again.

No, the reason is because Labour has been hijacked by hard leftists who actually want Brexit, and many of their electorate (in poor areas) also support it.

You should know such things.

I doubt he knows any women, to be honest. He's a textbook incel, even down to the ranting about Jews and the superiority of men.

Wars are males` invention and hobby, women always suffer the most regardless

Quite. The horror that women suffered throughout the 20th century at the hands of men is one reason why war should never, ever be glamourised.

UK, Ireland / Why Poles will never belong in England [283]

What you are all missing here is that all in the UK, except for an odd fish 'n chip shop are controlled by Israelis.

What utter codswallop.

Poles in UK will never be seen working as bank, school or corporate manager.

I know plenty of successful Poles in the UK. Having Polish parents and presumably being Catholic didn't stop Miloslaw and dolnoslask on this forum from succeeding, did it?

History / History of two Neighbors: Poland - Germany Interrelations [283]

The end of the EU and good relations with Russia are a core german interest.

Only if Germany wants to be reduced to a shell of itself again. Anyway, trends are showing that Germany will deepen the amount of integration with France, no matter what AfD supporters in the depopulated East say.

Men make sacrifices to women for the sake and survival of children and thus the nation.

That sounds like the kind of talk that you hear from a typical incel.

Why else have more men died than women in wars to protect their nations?

Why have more women died at the hands of men than the other way round?

Cut the incel crap.
