Life / News on driving in Poland [57]

These laws just create a lottery where some guys get their lives ruined because they were unlucky and got caught,

what about the people whose lives are ruined when some ******* drunken driver kills them or their family?

And that's fine too. I don't feel the need to know much things about all countries around the world, why others should?

oh right so a couple of replies on a forum enables the dismissal of all british people...
purely on a statistical level that is bonkers.

History / POLAND: EASTERN or CENTRAL European country? [1080]

British people know very little about countries East of Germany :)

that's rather a wild generalisation isn't it....
kind of dismissing all educated or knowledgeable british people in one fell swoop....?

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1400]

Believe me, stop relying on media, but go out, travel, learn languages and meet people and you'll see that people can get along.

I have travelled and learnt languages, you do not need to be so patronising, thank you.

why the assumption that i don't know languages? another tired stereotype, mmm?

I speak German, Polish, and Spanish as well as a little Greek, and have lived in various countries.

as I have said, you were the one who started with the rude stereotypes, not me.

LOL I see it was so gross and barbaric that even the French outlawed it!!
Oh well there's still a nice horse steak to be had at the local butchers.

. In France we say that in England, they have a lot of good products but people don't know how to put them together and are too cheap to buy ingredients.

yes well in britain we say a lot of things about the French but I am too polite to repeat here.
listen darling, you were the one who started with the arrogant stereotyped cliches, so please don't complain about it yourself.
the deep fried sparrow thing - I saw it on TV once (filmed in France of course) - I felt sick to my stomach.

so thinking such food is normally eaten in France (in Italy frog legs are more common though) shows huge ignorance of the topic.

well its known as a French delicacy along with deep fried sparrows, its certainly not associated with any other country is it<?
saying what you did about British food shows 'huge ignorance' too - what is it about the French and arrogance?
i was just joking around, but I see there's no point as some people just have no grace or humour.

lol warszawette, that's quite funny about the marmite though....it is utterly unbearable to all except Brits and Aussies!!
I must say there is some truly rank food in Britain...kind of extremes really.

Joyeux Noel and have a good Christmas dinner!!
I will be thinking of you as I force down my vile roast!

What "clichés"!!!!!

yes well sweetie you started with the tired old cliches about British food, so I thought I would continue.
The great thing about Britain is that we are adventurous and like to try and recreate recipes from around the world.
So there is a great choice of foodstuffs in our supermarkets. Unlike in france, as I noticed when I went there.
Time for the french to get off their high horse about food I think.
Oh sorry, LOL I forgot, you ate it.

but sorry it is no reference to me considering the British "gastronomy" ;)

well in France they eat horses snails and frogs, so sadly your opinion is no reference to anyone from a normal country either. :)
oh sorry i forgot the deep fried sparrows that you have to eat with a napkin over your head!!
and the force fed goose liver...
mm yummy!!

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2986]

a life ruined in terms of career prospects and all the other associated negatives or a potential life terminated?

having a baby doesn't have to ruin your life though, I have known a few who with their parents' support have continued with university despite having a baby.

in fact it could improve someone's life, some focus and responsibility.
is this a real sitch WB?

Anyway. I've said all I have to say on the matter. I'm off. You guys can all congratulate yourselves -

and that's not engaging in debate either really is it? Have your say and then be unavailable to listen to other opinions?
I think abortion is better legal than not, and shouldn't be undertaken lightly. That's all.
