News / Is NORD STREAM dangerous for Poland's natural enviroment? [516]

BB it is link form Nordstream website ... be serious.

Firstly Baltic sea is our common wealth and we should all sit down and think what we can do to save what we have.

As to Poles being natural eco warriors.

Our Bialowieski National Park was one of first in Europe. (As I remeber Sweden was first)

Not only we habe some objections, Sweden Lithuania Estonia. We want to check if it is not dangerous for enviroment.

bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601095&sid=admbOLaboKi4&refer=east_europe

May 27 (Bloomberg) -- AEuropean Parliament committee said OAO Gazprom's planned underwater pipeline between Russia and Germany poses a ``serious'' environmental threat, compounding the political hurdles for the $12 billion project.

News / Is NORD STREAM dangerous for Poland's natural enviroment? [516]

yes Celinski you are totally right.

We need to fight to save our beautiful sea. What is interesting at the end of WWII Germans were sinking ammunition and other dangerous weapons at the bottom of sea. I just can't imagine what would happen if during construction of Nordstream this weapons would explode. What is more pipe line may be dangerous form many other reasons for balitic sea.

But Poland is against that project, as well as the Baltic States, Sweden (again ;)), Finland...

Because this countries love baltic sea.

Now we need to check the influence of this project on ecosytems.

ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=42454

The German North Sea offshore area, known as Wattenmeer, or Wadden Sea, is a fragile biological habitat. It is the only home to more than 4,000 animal species, and as much flora. In addition, the region is the seasonal stopover for some 12 million migratory birds.

Due to ecological opposition from all the countries involved, the pipeline project, a joint venture of the Russian gas giant Gazprom and several German energy companies which started in late 2005, has so far not obtained a single construction permit.

Ecology is the most important in modern world.

We need to be sure that this project is not dangerous for our beautiful baltic sea.

after hundrets of years when human was destroying our beautiful nature it is time for change.

Life / Polish and Czechs [191]

The Czechs are more mature nation I would say. Ukrainian society seems to be so naive and their "liking" might disappear quickly because of some trivial issue. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Oh yes Czechs in comparison to Ukrainians look much more mature ...

as to Ukrainians their president has noticed last time that Polish TV they watch in part of Ukraine is dangerous or brainwash them (our German media lol) ... so ... I think you are right.

btw it is normal Ukrianian syndrome ... they don't know where they want to be ...

I have read that Polish, Czech and Slovak nationalists are good buddies.

especialy when it comes to Germans ... I think that connections end here ...

Life / Polish and Czechs [191]

The Czechs - Considered a relatively bright spot of Eastern Europe by Western Europeans, but I think primarily because Prague is such a gorgeous city and a popular tourist destination.

Stag parties and sex-tourists ;)

Poles really shore up their hatred for their eastern & southern neighbors, primarily Russia and Ukraine

Ukrianians are more and more liked in Poland ... in result of orange revolution, closer ties with Poland and maybe it is result of 350 000 - 1 000 000 Ukrainians who work in Poland (I think they are prefered imigrants) but still ... . As to Russians we dislike more they country than people.

as to making jokes form Germans (in second min appear German)

Life / Polish and Czechs [191]

I would think Lithuanians because Poland and Lithuania used to be one nation.

oh no :) honestly they don't like us ;-) I have been to Lwow I have been to Czech rep. I have been to Lithuania ... Ukrainians seem to like us (I don't trust them ;) ), Czechs were neutral (towards me), Lithuanians are not our friends ... all they have it is folk everything ealse has been created by Poles or by Russians (they decided to deny their noble past) ... so they are very nationalistic ... politicans have much better contact than people ... in Lithuania Poland is admired by people who consider themselves Poles ... what is more surrounding lands to their capital are governed by Poles in coalition with ... Russians :P

What can be interesting Russians like Poles, what a pity they don't have influence on their regime decisions.

Life / Polish and Czechs [191]

Lets not create artificial problems, we don't have any problems with Czechs and otherwise. According some old Czech poll I have seen Poles were their second best neighbors right after Slovaks.

Ukrainians as to the polls consider us their the best friends ... this case is much more complicated ... ;-) (I don't trust them ;-) )

as to Abisnth true effects appear after true absinth ... you can buy it form farmers or somebody who has self made Absinth and it has black colour ... and kicks ;) green is commercial version.

My statement about being racist was very impulsive. I just wanted to point something out ... (post about Jews look) In my opinion you should be more careful with your judgments ... like slav= slave. I haven't noticed statemnts like Jews =rats.

PS: I don't mind Crow and his little depraved world, as long as he does not turn into a serial killer :)

Serbia has traumatic past and I consider them victim, the same as all Balkan countries. They are just after the war ... so you know.

has just posted the B-side

I don't sides are not the best idea on forum ... sometimes I just feel that some people judge Poland based on stereotypes and sometimes our contr-reactions here strenghten this stereotypes.

Poles for Scandianvians were Vends. Poland was Venland. For Germans Polen, On east we were Lachs.

History / Sarmatism in Poland [119]

OK I see instead of discussion about Sarmats we have discussion about the same. Bratwurst post his crap maps where Poland is occupied by Germans and Crow has his world as well.

Thank you Julia for your link with with Swastika forms :

There is more Polish Coat of Arms based on Swastika form :

sw

bo

In Poland it is widely considered Swastika and some other symols come from Sarmats.
Now we have question where are Sarmats now.

There are 3 theories:

1) Sarmats = Slavs (Crow supports it and this time he is in majority ;) )

2) Sarmats = Slavic and Baltic mix

3) Sarmats conquered Slavs and later assimilated.

Some claim he was Welsh, others Scottish or Roman - while others say he never even existed - but a new book adds another twist by saying that much of the legend of King Arthur may come from a band of nomadic tribes whose descendants now live in southern Russia.

it is about Sarmats ... this time they were living on landsof todays Russia some time before were living somewhere near near India (like half of todays European nations)

Later they moved on west.

When we look on origin of Swastika (India, Iran or generaly middle east) and on tribes who could bring it to Europe ... and on DNA in European nations (new interesting tool very useful especialy in discussions with German Scientists and their theories) there is no doubt that It is Sarmatians job.

Look on Drogomir Coat of Arms and now look on one of English coat of Arms (Man Island) :

History / Sarmatism in Poland [119]

And there is a difference if you say "Slavs borrowed and used Swastika" or "Slavs invented Svastika/Swastika is of slavic origin" - a huge difference!

What is sure Svastika was Slavic symbol the same as other tribes ... I am not going to argue who invented it, I am sure not Germans. In old Slavic mithology it is connected with God "Svarog" and it symbolise "Fire"

What about the sky disc of Nebra? The slavs too???

Now instead of trying to respond on facts I posted you try to catch me in "Crows" trap of maginfieing something. LOL Find my post about Sarmatians or Slavs which was untrue... or try to debate instead of trying to tell I posted that Stoneheadge is Slavic ...

I think it is just lack of arguments...

Honestly when we have new tools to make researches, Germans and their XX century ideologies look more and more pathetic ...

Crow has tendency to exaggerate or dramatise that is why when he is in 60% right it is easy to win over him just because 40% of his statements are magnified. Stonehenge seems Celtic ;-) don't worry.

now when prices are similar maybe something will change ...

Hitler looks lame and your avatar looks lame LOL ... he used wrong ideology !

History / Sarmatism in Poland [119]

Let me guess...some Pole (or half Pole) invented it, right?

I see you try to insinuate some theories, The fact is that this sign appears ... in Finalnd, Poland, Ukriaine, Russia, Sweden, Iceland ... in some parts of ancient Roman empire as well. I am not going to argue who invented it, the fact is that Germans slandered this sign ...

What makes you think your next prognoses will happen??? :)

Of course ! :) Now Serbs should give up Kosovo join EU be "good boy" be our friend in EU and wait to moment when you will think about increasing amout of musilims in your country ...

This link is hard core :

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aryan_race

Ukrainians feel Sarmatian as well ...

When you will read my previous posts, you will notice some noticeable connections with Sarmats in Polish culture.

Can anyone trace their family roots to Sarmatians?

Honestly there are so many theories about Sarmatians/Aryans etc. that nothing is sure. And it is very sensitive case ... so you know.

Finally everybody want to be Sarmatian ... and want to exclude others ;) Germans tell Slavs are not Aryans (Sarmatians), Slavs that Germans are not Sarmatians , Brits have their theories as well ... Finally DNA researches show that in XX century we all are mix ...

I think you should rather talk to Crow or Bratwurst to know more ;-) I am interested about Polish meaning of Sarmatism in XVI century. What means Noble democracy, tolerance, political system...

and it has nothing to do with XX century ideologies.

History / Sarmatism in Poland [119]

ok I think Sarmatism isn't about whiteness and blackness ...

as to Mongolians it was part of old Polish - Russian discussion (Russians didn't like to talk about that so Poles like to talk about that esp after partitons of Poland) ... finaly we went in to wrong direction.

Ok so what Poles consider to be Sarmatian.

Art form 1600 - 1800s is considered very Sarmatian.

Poles consider patriotism as very Sarmatian.

In later era when Poland was patitioned, Poles believed that Poles are "choosen by God" and era of Polish romantism is considered as influnced by some Sarmatian traditions.

Golden Freedom and Noble Democracy is considered as very Sarmatian.

High Women possition in society is considered Sarmatian.

There are some examples of poetry which are considered Sarmatian.

Some military traditions are considered Sarmatian.

I see my post about Polish Sarmatians made some confusion on forum ok to make everything clear:

Poland:

Iran

India

Ok I used CFM idea to make it clear ;-)

What can be interesting Legendary Amazons have origin in Sarmatia ...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazons

and finaly King Arthur ...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_basis_for_King_Arthur

In 1978, C. Scott Littleton and Ann C. Thomas expanded on the ideas of Vasily Abaev and Georges Dumezil and published their theory of a connection between the Sarmatian people and the history and later legend of King Arthur.

Those pictures of Sarmatian warriors, very much remind me of Mongols, or Tatars, or any other fighting unit from the steppes. Odd how they are so similar.

I could find that kind of pictures ... I don't know how do they look for you. Mongolians this time were somewhere near China ... and apeared after 1000, and this map comes form 400 BC. Worrior presented here come forom this era as well.

ancient Greeks had seen them this way (maybe more realitic than pictures I have posted) :

OK so maybe I will continue. Polish nobels thought that only them form Polish society had origing in Sarmatia. (later some historicans realized that is is not true ... )

Look once again on some Sarmatian signs:

and on coat of arms of some Polish nobels :

lubicz

(once again this Coat of Arms has nothing to do with 3rd Reich)

herb boryeko

this is mine Coat of Arms :) with ancient origin:

What was later :

Sarmatism in Poland

Sarmatism embodied the dominant lifestyle, culture and ideology of the szlachta (nobility) in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth from the 16th century to the 19th century. Together with Golden Liberty, it formed the unique aspects of the Commonwealth's culture.

This belief became an important part of szlachta culture, penetrated all aspects of life and served to differentiate Polish szlachta from Western nobility (which szlachta called pludracy, a reference to trousers, not worn by the szlachta but popular among the Westerners) and their customs.

What contemporary Polish historians consider one of the most essential features of this tradition is not Sarmatian ideology [...]
