Love / Do Polish Women age well? [153]

Attention from other women ? It works this way , but only if you are a lesbian .

not necessarily. if you go shopping with your friends and she buys something that looks really nice
And you admire how it looks on her, you might be inclined to go buy it too. People model fashionable
clothing and they are women and it doesnt mean they are lesbians.

The amount of beauty advertising in these mags is staggering.

I agree with this, its very staggering, but again as

We do that because we feel better with it.

I agree with her statment as well, People have to work, look professional, and when you are in
a certain group have to look a certain way.. men have to keep their fashion up too, and there are
more gay men then women that are very fashionable..

Despite my posts tweaking some posters here, I truly sympathize with the good women who attempt to live up to society's beauty standards

maybe your finally getting it? and I just respond zimmy, dont worry, your posts dont interupt my
schedule. and I dont think about it on a daily basis, you **** people off for the moment thats it.

I have to many things going to worry about what some sob from a forum is thinking next.. :)

no disrespect intended, but thats just me.

I think I heard that somewhere.

good then you dont need to go thru your sex ed classes again.

Your assumptive proposition cannot be answered because it is wrong. You cannot find a comment by me that is insensitive to someone with a (real) medical condition.

yes I can, you did in this thread. I already explained it so I wont go over it again.

Don't be so concerned about my sex life

dont worry I could care less.

I can tell you that I've recently had penis reduction surgery.

ahhhh I get it your changin over to the female side and becoming a mangina now?

Don't be, just stick to a good diet. You know that it is possible to lose 50 lbs by next winter

I am sure you will zimmy and maybe, just maybe, you can go back to the surgeon that
cut off your penis and he can take off that 50 lbs sitting on top of your neck :)

Genealogy / Kosiorek - looking for Polish meaning, relatives [12]

Warszawa.

I hope someone in this area from this forum can help or at least send you some information

my sources do not give information for recent immigration.

They know very little, as their mother rarely spoke of that time.

I am sure what she went thru was reason enough to forget and to make a new life somewhere
else.

Thank you for your usual reasoned responses.

you are very welcome, because truth is, your usual women bashing deserves it

you obviously dont have * Feelings* otherwise you wouldnt Pick out medical
conditions that cant be helped... and FYI Zimmy one day you will have to get yourself a cat
when your bladder starts to go... your a pretty sad man if you can make fun of our geriatric
generations.. yeah, sick and you need to get your head examined..

They are so coherent, well-reasoned, witty, and entail subjective insights that will take scholars decades to decode.

that all you got?? well that figures since you make fun of medical conditions, it doesnt surprise
me!

however, normal women are great.

oh so now you decide to say something nice,, I have some news for you Zimmy, Normal women
also menustrate and they also still go thru menopause, and eventually when they get older
* but hopefully not* kidney problems , oh yes, and men to.. men also lose body functions
especially the ability to have sex at certain ages.. thats why there is viagra.. is that why
you are the way you are?

erectile dysfunction?.. well that would explain why your so crabby and unreasonable.
I am so sorry zimmy, I hope things change for you, that you get the medical attention you
so deserve ..

You also smell like them.

[quote=ZIMMY]Don't blame PMS when you're young; don't blame 'hot flashes' when you're middle aged; don't blame your cats when you're older.

its prob your upper lip your smelling.

Last time I checked these are all medical conditions.. but you wouldnt know that cause your
not that smart now are ya buttmunch.

Genealogy / Looking for grandfather and prior: Laskowski, Ostroleka Poland 1850+ / Witzke [12]

On Laskowski: looking for date of emigration (May be August 25, 1901 from Hamburg-- I cannot read the writing on part of the passenger list-- the ink seems to be smeared)

have you found any Ellis Island arrivals?

Hamburg ( for Me ) doesn't really show to much information.

On Ellis Island ( not sure if folks realize) that you can look at previous and next pages
on the 1907 and up theres usually two pages. but sometimes when you click previous
it might show a signature so you would click next and it should show the page two of the
same manifest you are looking at.

If you need some help, I can look , the information you have is from census?

* for Walenty that is*

God will bless you for the help you give people, and if you are ever in my area, I would love to buy you lunch or something.

awwwwww .. :) no problem.. I am glad to be able to get you in the right direction
its happened to me too , Sorry if I sounded little to forward up a few posts..

you can use web detective too, but I really dont know how it will help.. maybe
to find cousins now if you locate stanley grabowski's family.. which is on your moms
side.. ya never know. :)

where in detroit was her family? you have any old letters that give a street name?
if you get a general area, I might be able to locate current cousins :)

Walter is inaccurate as well?

Walter would more then likely be Waclaw.. or Wladyslaw.

Mike are you using two screen names or is this another Dabrowski decendent lookin
for his roots?

I seen a record on ancestry for Walter and Sophia.. pretty sure its the same..
so if you want me to check let me know..

I will check as time allows.. :)))

Genealogy / Poland Genealogy Resources [130]

jewishgen.org/InfoFiles/polandv.html

Civil vital registration in what became Russian Poland (the Kingdom of Poland, also known as Congress Poland) began in 1808 in the Duchy of Warsaw, and the records were kept in "Napoleonic format", a paragraph-essay style. For 1808-1825, Jewish registrations (and those of other religious denominations) were recorded in the Roman Catholic civil transcripts. Beginning in 1826, separate registers were kept for each religious community (Catholic, Jewish, Protestant, Russian Orthodox, Greek Orthodox, etc.) Records were recorded in the Polish language from 1808 until 1868, and were kept thereafter in the Russian language, until 1918, when Poland regained its independence.

Thanks :)) I subscribed to ancestry last night. what the heck :)))

I think its nice to help out when you can.. I can certainly relate to the brick walls
you experience with family history.

you are lucky you live in Europe, so you can prob visit your old home town and
not experience the expense that we have to ( living across the pond). :))

I did give the priest cash first, even before, I asked for his help, and he did take us into his place where the records were kept, and did not find anything.

Well. I am sure he tried.. its not like they wont help. but you should really make sure your
not in the wrong area.

its like towns and citys here. they have duplicates as well.

pagenweb.org/~somerset/societies.htm

link to the historical society that will be able to further assist with that marriage record

I will keep looking with my sources mike, but it might not be avail online yet.

well thats what I thought at first, but the name is misspelled big time so its not like normal
sources he would have would be able to help him.

I am pretty sure the sources he has only show credit history and whether or not they
have done prison time and they only go so far with social security numbers and information.

it took me a good few hours on ancestry to find the clues and back track.

I so far have them in three cencus.. no marriage record yet, I am working on that
to get hopefully some more information.. but my suggestion mike is that if it does
have a social security number on his death cert, you can write to the SSDI and get
the original application he filled out.. he might have given the town name on that.

:)

They did live until they passed away, in Gary, Indiana

Wrong MIKE :)))

I have some news for you..

The first two children of your grandparents sophie and joe were born in pennslyvania
so your grandparents lived in PA at least 2 years or so.. maybe ... they could have moved
soon as your uncle joe was born to indiana..

Your grandfather immigrated in 1909 and grandmother in 1907. so she was here first.

somewhere in pennslyvania they were married.. no wonder I couldnt find the record
on family search... Here I am looking in Indiana and they were in PA :)

so this is why your seaches failed. you have to be like dorothy and follow the yellow brick
road my friend.. lol

anyways.. I am going to email you all the wonderful information soon as I gather all of it
up..

I will copy the cencus which shows ( proves) your grandparents lived in another state
and their immigration is on this cencus .. they gave the information.

sometimes it can be off by a year or so.. thats ok, at least you have numbers to go by now.

so hopefully next we find the town name and you can go from there.. you might have
the wrong town.. for both..

If you have any ides, I will try.

ok, I am as far as the 1910 cencus with your grandparents.. did you know there is a
grabowski staying with them?

looks like it could be stanley.. who ever was taking down the information prob
couldnt understand their broken english.

they wrote stiney grabowski.. which is prob stanley IMHO.

now for all three cencus it shows different immigration dates.. you have a range of
1903 to 1909.

in 1910 they are living in East Jenner Township -Somerset Pennsylvania.
yes already married.. so they married in this town.

I will email you all three copied cencus.. you may have this info already. if not let me
know.

Name: Frank Dombrowski
Birth: date
Residence: city, Lake, Indiana
Other: location

WWI drafts.

mike I am sure this is him, but I cant read the records.. its possible he went under frank
instead of ferdynand.. cause I checked the ellis and steve morse and theres really not
many with that name if you use first name only.

Franciszek might be the name you need to check under instead.

my grandfathers name was Mikolaj, but americanized it was nicholas.

Joseph Dombrowski
Birth: date
Residence: city, Lake, Indiana
Other: location

theres a joseph too, might be a brother , in the same area, you prob have cousins
in your area and dont even know it.. :)

I will check later , try to get a look at some of the ones I think might be worth looking
at on the ellis.

Mike I was told my records burned too.. I have my records back to 1759.. you just have
to find the right person.. the priests arent always willing unless you fork out some change.

and as long as its going to help the church why not.

anyways, I am sure we will figure out the actual town name soon.

for your michigan searches.

Name: Fred Dombrowski
Spouse: Mary Dombrowski
Birth: abt 1875 - location
Residence: 1930 - city, Lake, Indiana

I dont have ancestry to look at the record itself right now, but if anyone does,
he needs the date they said they arrived.

churches your grandparents went to might be the first place to look, thats where the children
get baptised.

it might help,, but your local city hall also should have birth records as long as you know
when the children were born, you can find all the birth records and it might show a town
name in one of them.

thats how I found my grandfathers birth town. and my grandmothers.

Dabrowski

Mike,

you used to be a investigator.. you know how to find records..

churches, and using your old records you already have to find the paper trail.

no one here can give you information if you dont have a town or general idea of which
town or city.

Certain names same as in the US are common so you need to give more detailed info
because your searching for needles in the haystack.

My neighbours pedigree cat is leaving his landmark in my front garden at the moment, I've tried everything!!

you know, I have a animated * turns on to motion* guinea pig that sings kung fu fighting :)

put that in the garden when hes about to leave a landmark.. he might not ever leave another
landmark again.. lol

Food / Eat goulash from a cat and a steak from a dog in Poland! [114]

Smelling poop is like a landmark to them if you didn't know.

I have had dogs all my life, some ate it some didnt, and yes their poop is a landmark same
as when they leave a trail of pee on every tree they come across..

I think half of animals do this

animals that are going to be used for meat are given antibiotics, to kill off any worms or
other disease that might be passed from the animal to human.. dogs and cats however
are not , so not only would this guy be subjecting humans to disease, but he could also
be sued if someone turns up sick...

I am not saying one way or the other that I like it that we as humans eat meat, the subject
is really about the shelter animals, which are in no way , shape or form meat ready to be
eaten by the public.

I find it sickening, its sad that these animals dont have a chance at adoption.. unfortunately
someone thinks he can make a buck off of it and for me, I would be the first one out there
standing with a sign telling people to not eat it because its not safe Period!!

some of these dogs could have rabies or distemper <~not sure of the spelling and of course
other stuff.. when they suspect a cow having mad cow disease, they destroy the animal
same with the chickens and the bird flu. so why would anyone be stupid enough to eat meat
that isnt or hasnt been checked by proper means..

and FYI, I dont eat wild game either for that reason, you just dont know what type
of disease is lurking.

ps... thats my story and I am sticking to it!!

I'm here to chat with *people*,

ok but its a polishforum, you can chat with people in any forum right.. righttttttttttttt

Is there a rule about not praising perceived Polishness every damn day

no one said you had to praise anything, I was helping someone who asked a question
and you made a smart arse comment I responded to by calling you a dork because you
were trying to be sarcastic..

what is the point of being sarcastic towards people who like to research, do you stop
people in your town and ask them if they are reseaching so you can make them feel
like shyt because they arent like you???

your point of view is just that, we dont care ashley,, keep your smartarse comments
to yourself or someone is going to tell you off..

its a public forum, but its also a place for people to learn, and your trying to hinder
that by jumping in and making dumb comments.. but hey, if you want to look bad
go for it.. right.. after all, its ashlesy mind

thats what I was thinkin, Wilczynski? etc.. the naturalizations too are good..

I was thinking the family history center, mormons might be more help, they
have a different database online now that is more useful then the old website.

hope she has luck,

I apologize for my moment, just tired of the drama surrounding why we all enjoy
our hobbys of researching our family.. same as when people like to build model cars
or make quilts.. it doesnt mold our lives, but that is what people accuse you of just because
you make a effort to trace your roots.. you ask for help it should be there, offered up
same as they would appreciate help if they needed it.

anyways,, nite and peace

I have Polish heritage too

so you ask me if I am lookin for sense of identity when your here in a polish forum
also??? responding to a research question that I responded too.. lame.

yeah, so your point is??????????????????????

why did you come to a polish forum ashley?????? to shoot the breeze?

you can do that outside this forum.. this is a POLISH FORUM>>>>>>>

so whatever someone who wants to learn about, whether its history, or
about their family, why the hell does that bother you so much???

your pot is so black it makes the kettle look bad.

join the del movement ehh, well, I guess you should turn in your polishness, cause
