Love / How Do You Feel About a Black man marrying Polish Women? [157]

it is the Kalergi plan in full force

One explanation here could be that majority of people of European origin aren't enough prone to corruption and demand too many human rights and therefore it became too difficult to manage them according to someone's opinion.

Which does not mean that the solution is turning Poland into an African colony

I think majority of people want to see "elixir of immortality" to get created as soon as possible. It would delay the need for immigration for a hundreds of years. Demand the "elixir of immortality" from your govt.!

News / New "Polish memorial" in Berlin [316]

The Bundestag voted today (October 30th, 2020) with a large majority that Berlin should have its own place to remember the Polish victims

Probably no Ukrainian or Belarussian victims deserve remembrance in Germany... Therefore only nations which are members of EU and NATO.

How about the Russians...Twenty or so million victims are hard to overlook.

Possibly some people in Germany regard Russians as an "occupants" nowdays. However Russian soldiers were not able to bring more freedom to Germans that they had themselves. Unless they would revolt against comrade Stalin. Well, at least largest part of Germany (Western) avoided any reparations. And Eastern part did only meager reparations.

and some Berliner call it also the memorial of the rapist

How many % of a soldiers buried there were rapists do you think? A majority? Typically there is no such thing as a collective responsibility for an individual common crime.

How about the Russians...Twenty or so million victims

A few more millions perished in WW I (started by German Empire) and 10 more millions in Russian Civil War, which would never start likely if not political outcomes of WW I. Germany changed the fate of Russia for most of 20-th century if not forever!

today a war with Germany would last less than

Germany is under NATO protection. I think nowdays Russia would be in a more favorable position if they would come to an agreement with US and UK in 1945 to make Germany neutral and completely nuke-less (like Austria) than to partition it. And of course they could get a lot of reparations from it.

They did that with Austria ... but they didn't get any reparations from it

Formally, Austria had been occupied by Germany itself, so why would it supposed to pay any reparations?

There won't be any enlargement anymore...either with the EU or NATO

Why so?

What the Soviet troops did in Berlin was zero, nothing, zilch compared to what the Germans did to them

That is well known. Personally, I believe that no crime against innocent people could be justified, but formally there is some difference by the War crime (those encouraged by govt or commandment policies) and an individual common crime. What is a principal difference whether was common crime committed against German citizens by Soviet soldiers or some immigrants? According to the international traditions we could talk about an individual responsibility in such case only. At the end of War Soviet govt had been forced to conscript criminals from the prisons and camps by promiseing freedom to them.

.Until today, I cannot understand why the Soviets were so nice in Germany

This is a typical trait of a national Russian/Eastern Slavic character. A mercy to the defeated or captive enemies. A mercy to the foreigners in general. It is estimated that around 96% of German war prisoners were able to return back home from USSR. I think that in part it could be influenced by Orthodox Christianity. In the same time the Nazis starved to death and brutally killed around 3 millions of Soviet POWs. They simply didn't regard them as a humans, inspired by their ideology. They poisoned pieces of food and throwed it on the ground in dirt and enjoyed watching that starved people hungrily ate the food and died in sufferings. They killed people by expelled them naked in the winter or slowly killed them in cold water.

it is much cheaper to erect the memorial than to pay hundreds of billions in compensations.

Principally both countries could settle it in the form of investments, so both countries profit from it. For example if Daimler Benz opens another factory in Poland why does it suppose to be a pure loss to Germany?

Roughly 95% of the German prisoners taken in Stalingrad died

Well, if we count everyone who was taken prisoner from the very beginning of the War, I do not know. I think possibly those estimates were about those POWs in the final stage of the War or even after active stage of the War has ended already.

I have suspicion that many Germans are still looking at all the Slavs from top to bottom and a lot of work has to be done yet to break down stereotypes an improve relations. This is why the past is still important.

More discoveries are made in Russia of Nazi traces with chilling details. In one instance a large well was found in which the Nazis throwed Russian children. In another case a large excavation of a children was found without any violent death traces (like bullets or bayonets). An experts concluded that Nazis simply buried them alive.

Horror. What Germany can do to correct this and many similar things?

Possibly some extensive economic cooperation with Eastern European countries? There could be a lot projects mutually beneficial. And improving relations in general. Investments, loans, etc...

But I am not sure that the current Germany feels guilt for the past.

I wouldn't expect it to much. At least not regarding Eastern Europeans.

Interesting. Could you provide some citations from his works which indicate that? Did you read his works in Russian or in some Polish interpretation?

History / What Hitler really thought about Poles? Hitler's letter to Himmler 1944 [111]

Slavs are about 300 million

What is a use of a large numbers if they are passive and disunited mostly?

Soviets attack Poland when Poland was already defeated

They captured Lwow and Vilno, not Warsaw and Gdansk. Those territories were populated by Ukrainians/Belarussians/Lithuanians mostly. Poland couldn't keep them forever all the same unless they would change treatment of the local population. At least they been saved from ethnic cleansings from the side of Nazis, but then subjected to political purges from the side of Stalin.
