History / Poland must get back Lwow, Wilno and Brest back [345]

I am a very «live and let live» type of guy

Of course you are not, stop lying, you rightist psycho. You obsessively dream of depriving women of their rights which they should enjoy in a civilised country which Poland is to become when PIS bolsheviks lose power to the end.

I still remember your exchanges with our forum women who considered your views sick and misogynist.

You should have said: I am a very «live and let live» type of guy on condition everybody adopts my sick ideology.

nonsense

DFY isn`t nonsense, it is a very pragmatic recommendation for a rightist psycho. hahahahaha

Corruption, decadence in your own country!

Darling, that`s what rightist bolsheviks from PiS have been doing for 8 years. Until the nation, its decent part, said NO to gangsters in the latest elections.

Darling, why do you support gangsters? Coz they introduced a ban on abortion which is one of the elements of your sick ideology??? So let me tell you that after losing the elections, PIS gangsters started regretting the changes in the law they had passed in 2020.

Darling, your sick rightist ideology is slowly becoming a thing of the past in Poland.

Choose another conservative country to fulfill your rightist pervert obsessions. Poland is no longer a proper country for it.

Simply speaking, DFY and your stalinist grandpas, too!!!!

Life / What do Poles really think about cats? [470]

comatose :)

Wow, thanks for reminding me of this word which I learnt at uni times and have never used ever since. :):):)

By posing my riddle, I suggested that cats which openly show their vulnerable bellies to the public feel safe in their surroundings

When a cat shows you their belly, the cat is relaxed, comfortable, and doesn't feel threatened. They feel safe enough to expose their vulnerable areas without worrying about being attacked. They are pretty much telling you, "I trust you with my life."

Simply speaking, the baby is communicating we have created a safe environment for him.
Yes, it is a great honour indeed. Such banal matters make our lives worth living.

Written by a non-native.

Exactly! By a European. While you, British outsiders, think you can impose your pathetic culinary rules on Europe??? Forget it!!! hahahaha

Exactly!! One needs baboon heart and cardiovascular system to survive it. :):):)

I hate the taste of lard :(

You didn`t try smoked lard, it is obvious. "_"_"_

Excellent metaphor, I must admit. :):):)

The problems you alluded to are trifles. They will be gone when the new - democratic and patriotic - gov of Mr Tusk takes over after PiS bolsheviks.

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1450]

Usually salo.

It isn`t the word normally used in English. :):):)

Lard is rendered, salo isn't,

Not always:
salumifrati.it/en/13/seasoned-salty-lard/

Only a chip pan

Wow! I had no idea you can use a non-electric pan to fry chips! Amasing! Thanks. :):):)

You should try it :) :) :)

No, I shouldn`t. :):):) I would lose the delicious taste of the original texture of a smoked lard strip. :)*:P):) I need to feel in all dente on my teeth which I have retained all until today. AmaSing! hahaha

Biedronka and most other supermarkets have it

You are really crazy to offer this molten shyt to me. :):) The last time I used it was 32 years ago in the USA when I economised on food to survive the first weeks of my stay during an economic crisis.

Dripping is a better translation of smalec.

No, it isn`t. :):):

Check the meanings of lard and smalec again and tell us why. :):):)

Lard generally refers to smalec wyrafinowany

This means sophisticated smalec. :):):):)

Basically, if you'd spread it on bread, it's dripping.

Who said I spread it???? :):):)

Jon, I can`t take and show photos of each step of my cuisine coz I am too busy for that. When I said I use smoked lard on my sandwiches, I meant it literally.

Recently I have taken to smoked lard. I have always loved lard in its fried form called skwarki to sprinkle on pierogis. Smoked lard is delicious, too - soft and fragrant.

I use it on my sandwiches instead of butter coz I need a lot of calories to survive winter time in Poland. My ancestors did, too, for centuries and I certainly support such ancient culinary traditions.

News / Dodgy PRL-holdover judiciary finally reformed [420]

PIS was trying to suppress independent judges and take over the whole judiciary for themselves so that they could steal, get corrupted and cause accidents without any legal consequences.

Also, lethal accidents. Read this story about a certain PiS man who killed a woman on the road and nothing happened. Even better, he was promoted.

That is corrupt Poland that PiS gangsters were trying to turn us into. No more, you fekking bolsheviks!!!

onet.pl/informacje/okopress/czlowiek-ziobry-smiertelnie-potracil-kobiete-na-pasach-od-4-lat-nie-uslyszal-zarzutow/hp5y7ws,30bc1058

Ziobro's man fatally knocked down a woman on a crosswalk. He hasn't heard any charges for 4 years

Artur Dziadosz, former deputy head of the Prison Service, fatally hit a woman on a crossing four years ago. To this day, he has not been charged, although a year ago the case was supposed to be "at its final stage". Now Dziadosz, appointed by Zbigniew Ziobro, heads a powerful state-owned company.

This text may sound familiar because we wrote about this case exactly a year ago. Let us recall: in 2019, Artur Dziadosz, then deputy head of the Prison Service, hit a 69-year-old woman on a zebra crossing, who died in hospital as a result of her injuries.

The accident case was conducted for a surprisingly long time. Even though investigators had surveillance footage, testimonies of 8 witnesses and 3 expert opinions, they were unable to bring charges against Dziadosz for three years, and the case was passed around between prosecutors' offices like a hot potato.

In December 2022, the spokeswoman of the prosecutor's office assured us that Dziadosz's case "is at its final stage". Now, a year later, it turns out that he is still gambling, and Dziadosz has still not been charged.

Meanwhile, Dziadosz retired shortly after the accident, and immediately afterwards - on the nomination of Zbigniew Ziobro - he became the head of a powerful state-owned company. Both at the time of the accident and in the following years, Dziadosz held high positions in institutions subordinated to the former Minister of Justice and the head of Sovereign Poland, which ruled Poland together with PiS in 2015-2023. Ziobro, as prosecutor general, also supervised the activities of the prosecutor's office.

In 2023, as if nothing had happened, Dziadosz showed off in the company of Sovereign Poland politicians during various events related to the prison system.

The accident occurred at the beginning of November 2019 on one of the main streets of Kozienice, with a population of 17,000. The city is located on the route for drivers traveling from Rzeszów to Warsaw. Artur Dziadosz was crossing this road when a 69-year-old woman appeared on the pedestrian crossing.

According to our information, the course of the accident was as follows. The woman stopped in front of the stripes, she was wearing dark clothes, but the backpack had reflective elements. First, she let passing cars pass, but finally decided to enter the crossing. Then it was hit by a Mazda driven by Artur Dziadosz.

The woman was conscious, although in shock. She was taken away by an ambulance. A few days later, as a result of internal injuries, she died in hospital.

Investigators very quickly collected key evidence: CCTV footage from a nearby gas station, a quick autopsy, then traces from the victim's clothing, interviewing eight witnesses and securing the driver's phone billings. They also had three expert opinions.

An interesting thing: according to the information of "Dziennik Gazeta Prawna", the analysis of Artur Dziadosz's phone billings indicated that "at the time of the incident, an Internet data transmission was running on the driver's phone." What does it mean? Dziadosz could then listen to music, use car navigation or browse social media. To be sure what he was doing, the prosecutor's office decided to examine the official's phone.

It failed - during the search, Dziadosz explained that he had lost his phone while on vacation at the lake.

Instead of coming to an end, the meticulously conducted investigation was suddenly postponed. First, from the District Prosecutor's Office in Kozienice to the District Prosecutor's Office in Radom, then to the District Prosecutor's Office in Lublin. It got stuck there for good.

As we found out a year ago, the experts' opinions were similar, but they shared the blame for the accident equally. The woman was about to suddenly enter a pedestrian crossing.

Despite the convergent opinions and complete evidence, prosecutor Andrzej Wójcik, who is conducting the investigation, said in a conversation with us a year ago that "the evidence so far did not provide grounds for bringing charges", and the prosecutor's office was to order another - already fourth - expert opinion.

- In my opinion, the prosecutor's office is trying to discontinue the case and whitewash the perpetrator of the accident - the daughter of a woman who died as a result of an accident told us a year ago.

After our publication, the then deputy minister of justice, Marcin Wójcik, explained the case. On Radio ZET, he talked about Dziadosz's "personal drama" and the media's attack on him. He argued that the accident occurred "during the rainy season."

I call him Diaboł. coz he is as playful as sylvan Torque from one of the early Witcher stories.

Sylvans, called willowers or pucks, and labeled superstitiously as devils (archaic Common: deovel; Elder Speech: d'yaebl; Dwarvish: duvvel), are an exceptionally rare, intelligent race native to the woodlands of the Northern Kingdoms. They are distinguished by prominent goat-like visage and delight in pranks, feasting, and music.

very useful from a certain age.

I am too busy to afford this usefulness. :):):)

Besides, when I sleep during the day, I can`t sleep at night.

I call him Diaboł.

coz he is as playful as sylvan Torque from one of the early Witcher stories. E.g, he treats litter boxes like playing grounds, to have fun in, instead of defecating.

Mine would open a vein if I tried to eat his food

You talking about a dog now???

And he'd not be very happy if he saw them in his bowl.

Mine aren`t, either coz we serve them better stuff! However, when they see me over their bowl devouring sprats, they jon in to develop a deeper bond with me. They know it is good for them!! hahahaha

tinned pilchards.

Very good. Can oil is excellent, too - after consuming the fish content, I always drink the remaining oil. I even pour it onto my bread slices instead of butter.

sprats are for cats.

Exactly, jon!! When I eat cat food aka winter sprats from the same bowl with our three cats, I develop a closer and deeper bond with them. Our cat counsellor advised me to after one of them got a depression.

Fresh smoked sprats are very tasty,

Tasty, yes, though there is tastier smoked fish. In case of winter sprats, what raves me is nibbling at those tiny bones.

Yes, smoked but without oil. Those fish spines are in good shape while oil damages them to a great extent.

I love nibbling at small fish - I find it sort of exciting.
Upper row - whole fish.
Lower row - first, headless and gutless fish. Next, skinless. A lot of work but I like it. It occupies my fingers and mind and allows me to relieve stresses of everyday life.
