Life / Do you think that Polish people are rude? [951]

I came here for the same reason and found the same as you described.
After being here awhile you will find out that the rude and foul remarks are not coming from the Polish people that post here.
Those remarks are coming mostly from the British Bullies that post on here.
The Polish people here are most helpful with manners.
Don't let a few foreigners discourage you from learning about a country our grandparents came from.
It is a very beautiful country.

USA, Canada / 15 hr. motion on a minimum wage. (USA) [24]

Yes, Yes that is the problem !
I don't know who you drive for or what kind of freight you haul.
If you are only making less than minimum wage ($7 an hour) driving long haul you better find another job.
Yes, long haul truck drivers make $2000 plus a week, not $300 per week as you suggest.
They are only allowed by law to drive so many hours a day.
Yes they work hard and yes they are never home with their families.
And yes finding drivers that are willing to sacrifice never being at home, have a license (cpl),
a clean driving record, can read and write English properly, can pass impromptu drug screening,
no criminal back ground, can pass a physical test, physically fit, and are level headed is tuff to
find in this day and age.
At least give people the benefit of the doubt before you start running your trap about being
ignorant as it makes you look REALLY ignorant.
And yes I have been back and forth across this country several times when younger in an
eighteen wheeler moving people. We did our own loading (by hand) and unloading (by hand)
and worked our ar#e off.

(side bar) I normally don't respond to non members but you are totally ignorant.
Maybe that is why you only make minimum wage driving a pack van.

Most people do not qualify to even obtain a CDL, (commercail drivers license).
The medical part alone cuts out about half the applicants.

Then add in the rest of the requirements it really cuts the field of applicants down.
Same with the commercial airline pilot shortage.

Applicants come up short to qualify for a license.

Many over qualified people are working jobs that they don't need a license for.
That is why expecting $15 an hour to put pickles on a hamburger is fantasy in
this economy.

Then why do they call it a "private message" when it is not ?
Why couldn't Skippy just have said 'yes' instead of being so gamey.

'is it true that you are a child abuser'?

Of course not.
I have never beaten my children.........well..........only when they really need it. :-)

Is it true that the administrator and mods. can read our private messages?

If you falsely ask 'is it true' - admin can falsely ask 'is it true that you are a child abuser'? Now it's your turn to prove you are not. Got it? Admin

"If" I did, but I didn't.
Let me ask you this way then, "can you read our personal messages ?"

Now it's your turn to prove you are not.

I don't have to prove anything.
You are the one confusing the issue by going off thread.
Gee's, it was just a simple yes or no question.
I am sorry to have upset you with it.

History / Polish mathematicians who solved the Enigma machine [86]

Let me para prase some of that.

The Poles did break the code of the Enigma first.
The earliest success against the German military Enigma was by the Polish Cipher Bureau.
In the winter of 1932-33, Polish mathematician Marian Rejewski deduced the pattern of wiring inside the three rotating wheels of the Enigma machine.
In a major breakthrough Rejewski invented a method for finding out from each intercepted German transmission the positions in which the wheels had started at the beginning of the message.

Poland was able to read encrypted German messages from 1933 to 1939.
Could it the movie was more based around Bletchley Park after that in 1940 ?
In 1940 changes were made to the Enigma system which eliminated what Rejewski had discovered in the starting positions.
Bletchley Park in 1940 the code breakers continued from there to break the Germans codes.
I haven't seen the movie yet but surely will.

Wouldn't let me edit para phrase.

I read thru this thread and didn't see where the French were mentioned for their part.
Rejewski was helped by photographs received from the French secret service showing pages of
an Enigma operating manual for September and October 1932.
That had to have been a HUGE help in breaking the code.

News / Parliament in Poland clears way for nuclear plant [78]

It was the smell of coal smoke in the air.

Ah, yes as that is what we heated our house with when I was a kid.
You never forget that smell.
The good points for Poland to build a nuclear energy plant is that it would increase it's independence from Russia.
It would also give Poland an economic boost for the growing demand of electricity.
Also the green house emissions from coal is a nasty.

Poland's life expectancy in part reflects this. That and the preserved pork products.

I think SUGAR plays a much bigger variable in life expectancy then perservatives in food.
Soda pop is a killer.
There are many countries that would be interested in partnering with Poland to build one.

News / Parliament in Poland clears way for nuclear plant [78]

The first nuclear power station wasn't built until the middle of the 20th century.

And I grew up in the area down wind of one of the first ones built.
We were used as guinea pigs.
The cancer rate and birth defects increased to much higher there than other nearby counties.
The plant is now dismantled with it's expended fuel rods to be stored for the next 250,000 years.
It's a two edged sword when you hear how enviromentally clean nuclear power is.
No doubt there has been improvements made in the last 60 years but don't forget what happened
at Chernobyl or Fukashima.

Life / Is a prescription needed to get morning after pills in Poland? [35]

So it prevents the conception, it's not an abortion.

I disagree.

The emergency contraceptive morning after pill has three modes of action that is it can work in one of three ways:

1.The normal menstrual cycle is altered, delaying ovulation; or
2.Ovulation is inhibited, meaning the egg will not be released from the ovary;
3.It can irritate the lining of the uterus so as to inhibit implantation.

Keep in mind that fertilization occurs in the fallopian tube and that fertilization marks the beginning of
a new human life and the beginning of the pregnancy.

The journey from the fallopian tube to the womb takes between five and seven days during which pregnancy
cannot be readily detected.

Therefore, if a woman ingests emergency contraception after fertilization has taken place the third mode of action can occur.
The lining of the uterus can be altered causing the woman's body to reject the living human embryo, making implantation impossible and the child will die.

This result is called a chemical abortion; therefore emergency contraception is an abortifacient.

Of course I want a girl that been raped or had a date rape pill slipped to be able not to get pregnant.

Under those circumstances a Dr. could 'prescribe' such a pill.
They make 'birth control' pills for recreation sex which don't abort and kill a human being.

Life / What should parents and schools in Poland do to discipline flippant children? [16]

It's it me or does this guy just want to argue to go off thread ?
He follows me around this Forum like a lost puppy.

and thats when the belt comes out.........or worse..

Then you should be arrested Boy.

my little girl was told last week at school that she couldn't go to the toilet and that she shouldn't be a baby, she has a bladder infection and came home with wet knickers,

What an incompetent parent not letting the teacher know this in advance.
Why would a parent shame his child that way in front of her whole class.
You may as well have spanked her instead of the life long shame that you caused her.
You are the one that should be punished with a good boot in the butt.
Now for the love of the Polish Forum can we get back on thread and STAY on thread.
Case in point:
How many times do you have to be told this ?
See how the lack of a good crack on the b-hind when you were about two years old
might have helped developed your listening skills to have some manners and respect.

If a teacher lays a fcuking hand on my little girl they'll feel my hand.

Isn't that an oxymoron ? LOL

Smacking advocates are from the stone ages.

.......you old knuckle dragger you.

First thank you DominicB as I got you mixed up with Shaman.
Thank you for reposting it.
And thank you Shaman for your explaination.
Now let's quit sensationalizing with the word smack with the word spank.
I don't mean smack in the face, I mean a spank on the butt to get a kids attention.
I firmly believe after five or six years old it's to late to spank a kid on the butt.
If they haven't been taught by then it's to late.
And when doing so you only use the palm of your hand, not a stick, not a belt, not a paddle.
Does that help clarify my meaning of spanking a child ?
Even with the dangerously uninformed liberals ruining our schools most of my family and friends
still spank at home.

Good grief Shaman, your first post was one of the best posts that I have ever read on the Polish Forum

Maybe because you agreed with me that a swat on the butt never hurt anyone. (Besides their feelings)
Your post balanced the opinions out FROM POLISH PEOPLE here.

I wonder what the moderator who deleted your post views are on the subject ? Urg !

Do parents & public schools believe in corporal punishment in Poland.
What are the laws in Poland regarding spanking a child.
What would you do to discipline a child ?

Talking, explanations using examples, reasoning Right, that works well with a three year old.
The old reap what you sow works pretty good tooRight, that works well with a five year old

Abstinence of things which they will missPAleeeeeez
Maybe fear tactics without the physical punishmentEven a dog can figure that out after three times
The old fashion way worked (a good crack on the B-hind gets their attention), your way is obviously failing. Just look what it has created.

No no Billy, don't do that again or you won't get dessert. Right, that is a powerful incentive.
Kids that can't balance a checkbook or spell not to mention INSTANT gradification and that we are all winners. Pffffft

And when mommy & daddy die or throw them out they have to go on welfare because they have been hani capped by stupidity.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

and you cannot carry concealed weapon in any other state other then the state that issued you a permit

Not true pigsy, most states honor my C.C.W. (Carry & Conceal Weapon) I can carry in almost all states legally.

I have a permit

You do not have a C.C.W. permit. All you have is a permit to own. Big difference.

.It can be only carried in person unloaded when im going to the range or target practising at an designated area

Yup and I can carry mine loaded just about anywhere I want to. In my truck, in public, under my jacket, not
you however, you would go to jail.
In fact in my state, like many, if it is not concealed you can carry it openly without a permit.

Then why do you even own one?

Because the second ammendment of the Constitution of the United States of America says that I can.
Now AGAIN.....Please quit hijacking these threads before they get closed again.
(Constructive criticism)
Go read the P.Forum rules pigsy about hijacking a thread.

Gun ownership is good for Poland in case invasions happen again - as they have so many times.

After what just happened in Ukraine there is no doubt that the Polish people would support such legislation of private gun ownership.
This is why no country has ever tried to set foot on American soil.
80 million people with guns that practice regularly.
If Poland knew the statistics about gun ownership in the U.S.A. they might better understand the propaganda the liberals try to feed them about the murder rate in America.

The United States is 3rd in Murders throughout the World.
But if you take out just 4 cities: Chicago, Detroit, Washington DC and New Orleans , the United States is 4th from the bottom, in the entire world, for Murders.

These 4 Cities also have the toughest Gun Control Laws in the U.S.
ALL 4 of these cities are controlled by Liberal Democrats.
It would be absurd to draw any conclusions from this data - right?
A law abiding gun owner doesn't murder people.
No doubt that the people of Poland would support such legislation for private gun ownership.

I think like most normal people we have no use for guns.

If you ever need the use of a gun and don't have one you will probably never need one again.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

Poland in particular, people simply don't need a gun because almost nobody else has one. I do not fear being robbed or burgled by a gunman

Good points Roger.
I have a permit to carry one almost anywhere I want. Do I ? NO
Example, if someone robbed me or burglerized my home I WOULD NOT take my gun out from under my jacket.
I have been trained that the ONLY time you pull one out on someone is when you are going to use it.
A few hundred dollars or road rage is no reason to kill someone. Take it, my insurance will cover it.
They are not to be brandished to threaten someone with. You pull it, use it.
Now if someone was raping my wife, hurting my child or threatening my life, different story.
Otherwise like you said Roger,

to keep at home

Strictly home defense where I have no other place to retreat.
The gang bangers do not have a license to carry or even own a gun however they all have one.
The liberal media doesn't promote the stories about the good guys who shoot the bad guys first.
I just want the Polish people to understand the whole picture and not just the one the liberal manipulating media paints.
Thank you for sharing Roger as I have never been to Poland (yet) so that is why it seems so strange to me.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

Well I am sure you know where I am going with this....

No but let's tell Poland about Chicago where gun ownership is illegal for example. (ha, google that)
They have 20 to 30 shootings EVERY WEEK END year around. Mostly with black people involved.
50 to 60 around the 4th of July holiday.
Does that statistic represent the rest of America fairly ? Hell no ! That is just one section of an American city.
But that is not what the Polish people hear by the liberal manipulated media as they paint a picture
of America that is very bias.
O.k., time to let others in on this as the market is about to open here and I have to get to work.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

so what are you saying ? that this doesn't count?

Sure it counts roz but European's liberal media manipulate the whole picture as America has all
these killins with guns. True BUT 90% of them happen in just three cities and most of those are done
by blacks on white or blacks on blacks. Paint the whole picture so people know it is unfair to say that
all of America is full of gun killers.

If you want to blind us with statistics and facts, do your own research!

You are the one in doubt, not me, so don't delegate your work to me.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

Not if you look at comparable countries it doesn't at all, for instance European and developed countires.

Really, then let's go the other way then......how many people got shot say in Montana last year where guns are legal to own compared with how many people got shot in England where guns are illegal to own ?

I think if you did some research you may surprise yourself. (anyone want to google that ?)
Bad people will ALWAYS have access to guns and will kill good and bad people with them.
Good people should be able to defend themselves against these bad people with a gun as you would be a fool to take a knife to a gun fight or wait twenty minutes for the police to show up to protect you.

The police carry guns to protect themselves, not you or me.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

compared with the US where gun crime/shootings happen on nearly a daily basis...

Yes, IN THREE MAJOR CITIES by mostly black people. No racism here as statisics speak for themselves.
Take away those three major cities and shootings are no higher then most other countries.

To suggest that Poles would want guns if only they were educated by Americans is an insult.

Let's turn that around Roger, to suggest what Poles want, since you are a Brit, is an insult.

After watching an unarmed European police officer get executed in cold blood because he didn't have a gun
to defend himself might change some minds on the issue.
By opening this thread the Polish people may be educated on what the liberal media manipulaton has done to

Law / USD shooting up so high for PLN [76]

China was not party to the Kyoto reduction agreement.

It shows as their air pollution is off the scale and the ground water is unfit to drink.

No the Euro is f@ucked in 2015

I beg to differ as the UK's economy is on a very very thin string also.
The Euro is at a nine year low while the U.S. dollar is at a nine year high.

the UK has a free floating currency and will be one of Europe's best performers in 2015

Europe's best performer maybe which isn't saying much as bad as Europe is hurting.
Most major currencies are floating currencies. So what is your point ?
A free floating currancy is a currency whose value is determined by the free market.
The value of a floating currency changes constantly depending on the supply and demand for that currency
as well as the amount of the currency held in foreign reserves.
However, floating exchange rates tend to be more volatile depending on the particular currency.
A floating currency may undergo currency appreciation or currency depreciation depending on market fluctuations.
I really don't think there will be any big demand for the GBP in 2015.

I also believe Poland is in deep trouble relying on US FDI increasing from 2016 as EU borders
are drawn in black pen.

Yeah like those black pen borders are just that. If Poland didn't rely on the U.S. Federal Defense Industry then who
would they rely on that would be capable of meeting their needs ? England ? Russia ? the Chi-coms ?
I predict that you will see the Euro drop as low as 106 in 2015 which won't be good for the zloty either.

News / Food producers from Poland should stop suffering from obliged sanctions against Russia [75]

I will agree to that as whenever I bought frozen oysters and tiger shrimps in US or Poland they are from bangladesh

Most shrimp in the U.S. comes from Thailand and the oysters come from Korea.

.I dont know about vegetables and meat though.

Foreign canned meat is much more healthy than American.
Why do you think ten and twelve year old girls are developing so young these days in America ?
Thanks to GROWTH HORMONES (GMO"S) by Monosato Inc.
Cows are fed styro foam pellets injected with growth hormones, fed GMO corn (corn is not a natural food to cattle nor is
styro foam pellets) all to put weight on fast for meat and to make cows give three times as much milk all for more $$$$$ profit.

(Not to mention milk in America is HORRIBLE for you)
Foreign cattle are grass fed naturally (not grain fed) and the meat actually has flavor not to mention what you are
putting in your body.
Vegetables in America are grown with Monosato's chemical fertilizers, Monosato's GMO seeds,
sprayed with Monosato's chemical pestisides (Round Up & ect.). Yummy
Ask again why autism and cancer rates have sky rocketed in the last two generations in America.
Did you know that three or four companies in the U.S. control all the food in the U.S. ?
So before the thread got hijacked...... back AGAIN to my question:
Would the Polish people prefer the GMO's that are used to grow grains and growth hormones injected
in the meats of America or the natural foods from Russia and Asia by joining the Eurasian Economic Union
also increasing Polands food exports to Russia ?
johnny reb

News / Food producers from Poland should stop suffering from obliged sanctions against Russia [75]

Firstly, Russian imports it's food. Especially chicken from America.

Firstly, this simply is not true. You can take your own time and google it.

Secondly, no trade agreement would allow GM food into the EU because it's unacceptable to EU consumers.

Secondly, you may be referring to GMO seeds because GMO's are in almost anything made with grains.

Thirdly, Russia and Asia are not known for their food quality..

Thirdly, no less then America with arsenic found in their orange juice, PBC's in their salmon from the great lakes, always
throwing out tons of tainted meats, growth hormones in their beef and chickens......all so yummy.
I do eat a lot of oysters, pineapple, ect. from asia that tests safe.
So Russia and Asia's food quality is just as safe as America's.

There is no impediment to Russia joining the EU, except that it's corrupt to the core and would need it's laws updating

Really, and just what government in the EU is not corrupt to the core ?
In fact what counntry in the world is not corrupt to the core ?
I think you may being a tad bias here weeg.
(Side Note: One of my favorite imported food is from Poland and that is the Pampa canned herring in mustard.
That with some crackers and a beer is a good lunch.)
So back to my question, would the Polish people prefer the GMO's that are used to grow grains and growth hormones injected
in the meats of America or the natural foods from Russia and Asia by joining the Eurasian Economic Union increasing Polands food trade to boot ?

News / Food producers from Poland should stop suffering from obliged sanctions against Russia [75]

O.k., we have discussed the political end of the food producers in Poland.
Now I would like to entertain the other side, the "best choice" for the Polish people.
Russia has now made a new offer starting the first of this year.
No doubt the EU is both vulnerable and sought after economically and geopolitically.
Russia is making no bones about an open proposal to the EU.
Essentially, dump the U.S. - don't join the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP),
but join the Eurasian Economic Union, which went into effect January 1st.
The Polish people are caught between a rock and a hard spot the way I see it.
Do they want to cave to their neighbor Russia who is offering natural foods grown in Europe/Asia or
the unapproved genetically engineered food that Monsanto is "forcing" North and South America
to grow ?
What a choice to have to make. I know how I would vote on that.
America treats their chickens for example with chlorine to keep them fresh. Yummy !
GMO's are starting to show up in human organs from the ones used in altering rice.
Not to worry as Monsanto says it's not harmful. (sarcasm)
Of course Monsanto who developed "Round Up" weed killer said that was safe also even
though it is linked directly to autism.
What killed all the bees that pollinate in the U.S. ? Monasanto linked it to the cell phones. (more sarcasm)
So if the Polish people either have to cave to East or the West in making a choice, your vote please.
