“We have a sacred duty to remember the twisted thinking that led here — how a great society of culture and science succumbed to the worst instincts of man and rationalized mass murder and one of the most barbaric acts in history,” Mr. Obama said.

Mr. Obama also thanked Polish leaders and the people “for preserving a place of such great pain for the Polish people, but a place of remembrance and learning for the world.”

you are the only person who thinks so, BB. The entire world knows (and remembers) that Germans are the ones to blame, regardless of what der spiegel says.

By the way, Germans killed 75,000 Poles in Auschwitz.

It a shame you didn't watch TVP1 today - the ceremonies on the 65th anniversary of Auschwitz liberation would have made you feel very, very uncomfortable.

Well....most of the jobs were actually done by either voluntarily or forced natives. Most Germans besides the Einsatzgruppen acted more as planners, organizers and overseers.
Without the more or less enthusiastic groundwork in those countries where most of the Jews lived it could never have been done so "successfully"...

following your logic, Cubans support their communist regime, Birmans are enthusiastic about their military regime and North Koreans voluntarily die of hunger in the name of Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

What is wrong with you people????

I think she left home when she was young, raised the kids on her own, so she was basically a kid raising kids, so no adult values to pass down to them as she had none.

still, that doesn't excuse her.

I wanted feed back from Polish members as to whether or not this was normal Polish behaviour, which is what she explains it as.

I wouldn't call it a normal Polish behaviour. She's definitely not a well-educated person. How about her family, are they the same (I'm guessing they are)?

Absolutely. My girlfriend is Polish and she and her kids are completely lacking in basic manners, for instance if we are invited out for a meal they simply eat and leave. No thank you's, no see you soon, they just feed their faces, invariably turning their noses up at anything which isn't meat or potato, and leave.

congratulations pirate for assuming that if your gf and her kids lack in basic manners, than the entire PL nation lack in it as well.

you should try PL cheap wine, the so called jabol, now that is awful!!!!!
Although, they have some nice and innocent names, e.g. 1/2 śpiewu, sen sołtysa...

As mira said, you can call him Skarbie, Kochanie, Słońce, Słonko. You can also go with English affectionate words, I'm sure he'll love that as well!

Yes,polish guys who date foreign girls do so because they cannot find a polish girl since foreigners take them.The reason polish girls date foreign men is because they assume foreign men have more money than polish men.

It's not very common but it does happen.
I think it's more common for PL girls to date non-polish guys than for PL guys to date non-polish girls.

Before that time, French spelling was very easy.

it's definitely very difficult today! Why don't you go back to the old, good times of easy French spelling. That would save me a lot of time when I write e-mails to my French-speaking friends :)

'Steven GeRaRR' for Steven GerarD, no 'd' in the French pronunciation.

why is it that in French language d or t at the end of a word isn't pronounced? Why is it there in the first place, I mean why do you write it if you don't pronounce it?
