I do very much say so, chucky egg.

And also say that whining on about sports cheats exploiting loopholes caused by sports bodies' inaction as if it's the fault of trans people who aren't sports cheats is akin to monkeys in the zoo flinging sh1t out of their cage.

But hey, the vile invective from crabby old suburban transphobes is starting to alienate people (especially the better educated and the under 30s) against vocal transphobes so that's just a plus. Loud hatred is always bad optics.

it could be possible for such a trans-Black to apply for

It isn't though, is it...

It could be possible that the moon is made of green cheese, it could be possible that there are Yetis roaming the Arkadia shopping mall, it could be possible that Novichok is sane.

However whatever odd and unrealistic suggestions are 'possible' are an irrelevance compared to what is real.

what then?

Then the issue (in the highly unlikely event of it arising) will be addressed, silly...

The declining fear of LGBT+ people is however a very positive change.

There were a lot of seriously fvxked up lives before and that situation is improving. Decades ago there were relatively few of us who stuck our necks out and didn't much care what bigots think or say. Now, the whole of Generation Z flips them a massive collective bird.

The Trans-Community shouldn't put up such a fight

They should and they do. And they're winning.

Just read this thread to see a tiny glimpse of both the cvntish hatred against them, and how pointlessly whining that hatred is.

I read that the anti-transracial arguments are similiar to the anti-transgender ones

Just a fear of the unknown and of change.

sportswomen

That's a failure of sports organisations to respond to a new form of sports cheating rather than the fault of trans people in general.

News / "POLISH death camps" term used by "Parade Magazine" Anti-Polish Bigots [249]

Auschwitz

Remember that Auschwitz was a large complex of camps. I think 7 of them. Auschwitz II at Birkenau (the one with the famous watchtower) was within walking distance of Auschwitz I (the former Austro-Hungarian barracks where the 'arbeit macht free' sign is) and was by far the largest of them. It wasn't a labour camp, it was a death camp, existing only to kill as many people as possible on a vast scale.

UK, Ireland / Voting in October Elections from the UK [17]

settlers first arrived in America and their original homelands continued to allow them to vote

That's pretty well it. In the case of early settlers, voting was far from universal and when Italy got its franchise and Poland regained independence, there were strong nationalistic issues involved.

The other problem is that often these people have a sentimental and completely unrealistic idea of the 'homeland

That suits one or two parties often, ones who aren't ashamed to collect votes from people who can5 pronounce the party name.

disillusioned with life in modern America and think they can maintain some kind of Eutopia in their ancestral homelands.

I've noticed that ever since I started using the internet, which was in Poland.

We see it here at PF all the time, with multiple threads over the years. 25 year old pot smoking Kurtan Mucklows in trailers in small town Indiana, very unhappy with their lives, fixating on tenuous ancestry and dreaming of becoming 'kawalers' (which they are anyway in the modern sense) or Winged Hussars, or the moustachioed Hetman of the Podolian Horde.

Do you believe in original sin btw? ie white privilege

Original sin, no. White privilege yes. It's very real.

News / Russian agents plan sabotage acts in Poland??? [74]

it's not surprising

It's not at all surprising. Countries put a lot of effort and expense into it, r*SSia and China probably more than most if not all other countries put together.

In Poland, it's a particular risk because of Poland's staunch opposition to the illegal invasion, proximity, linguistic similarity and of course the ability of orcs to pass as Ukrainians, many of whom are here.

They jerked each other off in front of kids, to be exact

No they didn't. Don't lie.

Every news oulet in Britain

The stats show that the U.K. is a very safe country. Not that your google searches for tabloids outside Poland.are relevant to the OP's question about her visit to Wrocław.

make out in the street right in front of families with kids

So what. People kiss and cuddle and you'll see a lot more on German TV than you'll ever see on the street. They aren't prudish there. It's hard to know why you mention kids at all. Here in Europe people are far less inhibited about what's on daytime TV.

but GB

It's very safe. In decades there I've never personally come across a stabbing incident and only one shooting incident. That was an American criminal who'd obtained a gun illegally, shot a policeman since he was stopped at traffic lights and knew the gun would be found, panicked and went on the run. He's fortunately now rotting in prison for the rest of his life.

Racism as a sin

If anything's a sin, it's racism.

I once asked a (very traditional and rather old-fashioned) Catholic parish priest what the worst sin was. His answer: racism.

In reality there are laws that do not let people commit crimes

Yet those laws only exist because people do commit crimes.

But once exposed to other races, which they are not really in Poland, they generally change their perspective.

That's mostly what I see.

Things go through the stages, forming, storming, norming and performing. Migration into Poland from places far outside is new, still only just forming and not even at the Alf Garnett stage yet.

Visit a Christopher Street Day

We have them here in Warsaw. A lot of families go, Great entertainment, if a little tame.

You get stabbed instead

You don't. Here in PL such things are rare.

and what is the standard of living there

Some obvious poverty but also new developments and change. There seems to be quite a large student population.

I go there sometimes and most of my favourite haunts from a decade or so again are gone now.

There are some OK restaurants though.

Therefore, the only question that remains is whether racism in Poland is greater than in other neighboring countries?

I'd say that the real question is how any given society is coming to terms with it and tackling it.

the whole electoral system

Italy does the same. There are people voting there who live in America and have never actually been to Italy.

They or their family members left, and can vote in their home country, America. Strange to vote somewhere you don't live or don't even have a house.

News / Russian agents plan sabotage acts in Poland??? [74]

I don`t think that a normal Pole would go for it

Not so much 'normal' Poles as some nieciekawy guy or a psycho or an alike.

We've had traitors in the U.K. (as every major country has) and they have usually been people with issues. No normal Pole would be a Stalin-era hanging judge or a Mafia Don however both sadly existed.

I forgot to say that right now it is not known if any Poles are involved

That's a plus, however we shouldn't underestimate how pernicious r*SSia is or how far a few thousand zl could go to persuade someone working in a low paid job in a strategic sector.

I suspect anything really bad wouldn't necessarily be made public. Espionage matters in many countries are often kept out of the public domain and dealt with privately.

I equally suspect that the ABW etc know their job very well and are being extra vigilant at the moment.

Aren't overseas votes counted as part of the Warsaw electoral district? That certainly used to be the case, and I'm not sure if it's changed or not.

And that of course would mean that some of the posłowie for the city are chosen in part by people who don't live here or necessarily have any particular links with the city.

News / Russian agents plan sabotage acts in Poland??? [74]

We shouldn't underestimate the degree of penetration by r*SSian agents and intelligence assets in Europe as a whole. The US too probably (remember all those 'sleeper agents' that were caught?). And the three Bulgarians on trial in the U.K.

It seems to be pretty well every major country, lots in Germany and according to the media, ongoing trials. It's hard to imagine them skipping Poland, especially as Poland has a direct land border with both r*SSia and Ukraine.

Hopefully any saboteurs will be caught, and hopefully their trials will be reported publicly. I've a feeling though that exposure of agents won't be considered as being in the public interest due to the effect it might have on people. Nobody likes traitors. Either way, I hope the ABW or whoever find them and stop them. Traditional Polish r*SSophobia is justified given r*SSia's behaviour and perhaps this reduces the number of people likely to cooperate with r*SSia.

With the large number of Ukrainian refugees coming out of Ukraine, it's hard to imagine r*SSia not using that as a way to get their spooks in.

bullet

Fortunately in the civilised world, people don't have 'bullets'.

Personally, I think this thread should be binned

Agreed. The OP raised a question about Wrocław and it's become full of hate, like the Daily Mail comment pages.

and probably no trans 'men' since that wasn't a thing then

Sort of. There have always been women who've had to take on a male role in order to be taken seriously in a male world.

you seriously gonna play

Yes, because it happens. Mythologising the Stonewall riots is gonna happen because it's well worth mythologising. There are however photos and yes, some were trans, even if they did only present that way 'sometimes' because 'sometimes' was the only option they had. Nevertheless, there are plenty of photos of the weekend they were mourning Judy and those photos do show trans, dykes, poofs, straight-acting fags and anyone else who fought back (and won).

You may have strong views on it all and I'm not overly impressed myself by depraved straights who try to colonise LGBT, the bald divorced straight suburbanites who grow their hair long at the back, put bad makeup on and say they're lesbians. They're exhibitionists and fortunately there are few of them. Unfortunately bigots seize on them and the end result is yet more beatings, yet more killings of effeminate men who can't pass as straight, genuine 'third sex' people in Manila, Mumbai, Rio, Lagos, Moscow and yes Warsaw wherever who if they're lucky enough to get a job, cut hair, wiggle their tucases in bars and do blow jobs to buy cheap food. And the ones who beat or kill them are straight-identifying guys who get a hard on at night thinking about other guys and are so repressed that they express that as hate rather than love.

If transgender women are women, why do we call them "transgender women" instead of just "women"?

You're slowly getting it.

going on here in the US.

A different continent and not especially relevant to Wrocław. One thing I'd say though is that extremes breed extremes. If the conservative lobby were a bit less rancidly aggressive, those who they try to hurt would hit them back with gentler hammers.

You compare the Civil Rights Movement to LGBTIQA

Yes. Oppressed people are oppressed people. And having strength on our side, we always but always win.

trans was beaten up in Lwow

At least they bother reporting it now which is a plus.

The best answer to anyone being violent for anti-trans, homophobic, anti-Polish or whatever reasons is to give them a taste of their own medicine.

The last stranger to get violent with with me for homophobic reasons ended up in hospital with serious injuries. His football hool friends ran away like little pvssies as soon as they saw his blood on the street.

figures related to the Stonewall riots were trans

There were many there who were certainly trans.

They've also doctored

Not that conservatives ever use photoshop now do they.,,
