Genealogy / What are common Polish character traits? [425]

I think you are mixing two words here.

Which two ?
It's you who is mixixing words, go re read my post.

However I don't expect you to understand.

You obviously don't as you skirted my point and turned it into your point by mixing words.
My point was that the Polish/Eurp members here often post with insultive posts of how stupid and what idiots Americans are.
Yet when the Americans fire back with an insult the Poles go right up on their ear with, "How dare you talk to us like that."

Which brings us back to one of the Polish character traits.
No big deal to me personally because I have learned how to laugh at myself which most Poles are incapable of doing.
Poles are incapable of constructive criticism in case you haven't noticed here.

Genealogy / What are common Polish character traits? [425]

These type of threads are pointless anyway,

Not really Pam.
Have you noticed how the Polish members here (not all of them but most) refer to the West and America with condescending and derogatory remarks daily.

If we the West respond in such a manner we get suspended for, Not using the ignore function.
This thread however allows the Westerners to poke a little fun back at the Polish members legally.
And as you have seen here, when we do, the Polish members feel really insulted to think someone could poke fun back at them.
They have a mini meltdown to think this is allowed here.
How dare you !
Which brings us back to another Polish trait......the Polish enjoy dishing out the yuk yuks but are totally offended if someone pokes them back with one.

Touchy Touchy delph, do you forget that I inherited some of these traits myself.

Because it insults, provokes and baits Polish people?

It does ? Thank you for confirming my point.
Or is that just another Polish trait, "they don't know how to laugh at themselves" and have huge inferiority complexes.
At least I have over come that one.
All the other threads in this forum it is dished out about those stupid Westerners by provoking them and that seems to be o.k.

So I guess we can add this one to the list too of, don't you dare point out the obvious Polish trait of having huge inferiority complexes.

Genealogy / What are common Polish character traits? [425]

This is one of my favorite threads here.
Reading the Polish reactions/meltdowns when they get called out on their Polish traits.
Some of these post describe the typical Pole perfectly and are down right hilarious.
The Polish do make excellent smashed potato's however.

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1450]

It suggests that he doesn't know how to cook without following instuctions.

But I am not the one that has my meat turning out to be soggy and nasty on the bottom side because I didn't have the common sense to flip it half way thru cooking it when using this product because I thought I knew it all.

Even a cooks helper would have the brains to do that. geesh !

... the breading on the bottom side is moist and nasty..

Better stick to flipping burgers to keep yourself safe.

Jonnhy, you don`t know what you are talking about.

Oh I know exactly what I am talking about, it's you who is not listening.

You hypocrite!

How so Mr. Grumpy. Did I say that I ate that stuff ? No I did not so quit projecting lies.
If you choose to put your cutlets in "brine" before you coat them with bread crumbs then you have ater'.
I choose to use eggs and flour.

we weren`t aware of your intentions behind your words.

Well we sure are aware of your intentions of being an ass for no reason aren't we.
Now you gonna lose some weight or keep digging your hole deeper.
Who would think some Pollock would have a meltdown over bread crumbs. lol

Master Chef Rev is here to help.
The directions on the box say to flip it after twenty minutes and let it bake for another twenty minutes to avoid that from happening.

baking breaded things is just so wrong...

I guess it's all on how and where you've been fetched up.

No, they use brine and then bread crumbs.

Quit being an ass.
Have you ever used Shake & Bake bread crumbs ?
Eggs and flour optionable.
Nothing worse then teaching a teacher.
Looking forward to some Łazanki at my local P. restaurant as soon as I can drive again.

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1450]

Well maybe they do use egg and flour.
I will ask them the next time I go in that store.
Maybe they just throw a handful of bread crumbs in when they run the meat thru the tenderizer machine to grind it right into the meat.

I mean is there a way to make a proper pork or chicken cutlet or even fried chicken for that matter.

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1450]

I don't think they use flour and eggs, just bread crumbs.

she is going to cook typical Polish food

The only Polish food that I fall victim to is Poland's different Excellent sausages.
They put German sausage to shame.
The local Polish restaurant here in town makes a sausage soup that I could never get sick of. Yummy stuff !
Oh and potato pancakes with onion fried in butter. (better then sex)
Besides that the basic ingredients used in Polish foods are beetroot, sauerkraut, cucumbers (pickles and gherkins), mushrooms, kohlrabi, sour cream and different herbs and species (marjoram, dill, caraway, parsley and pepper).

And kaprys already told me that in moderations I will be o.k.
When you get old you can't eat that much anyways even if you wanted to.

We don`t want to lose you .....

To late buddy, I'm already living on borrowed time.

Ready made stuff is not that good.

The stuff here in the U.S. really isn't that bad and it is quick.
They run the chicken breast or pork loin thru a meat tenderizer keeping it in one piece which minces it so to speak.
Then they drag it thru some spiced bread crumbs and throw it into a package for lazy people. (Doable)

Just buy some pork chops (or chicken breast), pound it thin, season it, then dip in flour, egg and fine bread crumbs.

Pork loin is a cheaper cut then pork chops and not as tuff.
I agree with you however, a little effort can make a big difference in home cooking and delicious home cooking.
This is why I am looking for a Polish woman for my future caregiver when I really get old.

Are they sold in bread crumbs?

Yes
Ready to go straight into the pan. (both chicken & pork)
I use to buy them, fry them and make a sandwich with them.
Dressed them up with a little mayo and lettuce.
Unfortunately fried food is no longer in my diet. :-(

due to shortages of meat.

Wait, isn't Kotlet schabowy meat ?
I can buy them at my local Polish store here in the U.S. (either chicken or pork) for 'about' 20 zloty per kg.
Quick and easy, just toss them in a fry pan with some butter and brown them.

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1450]

you seldom show any reason in other threads, so when you showed some here at last I was a little flabbergasted. I am sorry. :)

Apology accepted.
I really do plan on coming to Poland and I do love good food so this thread was of extreme interest to me.
In other threads I am usually responding to rude hateful people which brings the worst out in me.

I feel I have to eat fatty foods because that`s what I want subconsciously.

It's called 'self control' buddy.
kaprys said it the best, "all in moderation".

As for your Grandma's cooking, did she die at forty from a heart attack?

You got me fair and square on that one.......she lived to be 99.
If you are young and very active, getting lots of exercise, Poland's heavy foods would be less risk of a heart attack then if an old man like me who's metabolism has all but shut down sat down to three big meals a day and ask for seconds.

I just can't eat food like that anymore without packing the fat pounds on even if I eat in moderation.

but showing it here would be boring.

No more then plates of grease and fats shown here with a bright colored vegetable.

So, one request - don`t judge our cooking ways so superficially after seeing only a dozen pictures in this thread. :):)

Awe come on Pawian, play fair, my Polish grandmother cooked thousands of meals for me.
The topic of your thread is asking the members here a question and for their opinion.
You ask for my opinion and then tell me not to judge because you don't like my answer.
My opinion is that Polish food is very heavy with grease and fats that are very unhealthy for humans.
I label it "artery clogging food" as any nutritionist would.

Yes, that is why I never eat meat solo.

And your point to that is ?
You are still eating all those dangerous saturated and trans fats aren't you ?
Eating a pickle with them isn't going to change that fact.
Those toppings of cream cheese and such that the Polish pour on really cap the heart attack waiting to happen.
My opinion and just saying......

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1450]

eating healthily is not rocket science.

No but we are creatures of habit.
When I use to eat ground beef I would slap on some cheese with mayo & ketchup on a bun...... all by habit.
Now I put it on half a bun with onion, pickle and mustard.
Little things like that can add up by the end of the week big time to feel better.

Moderation is the key.

Absolutely it is.
If you want to look real healthy...... always be just a little bit hungry.

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1450]

Yes, but life is generally a fatal disease.

True but having a stroke at 40 and being paralyzed the rest of your life or dying just because you eat horrible food is just dumb.

Personally I don't eat dead animals guts and stay on a white meat diet like occasionally chicken and pork.
The organs of an animal is where all the toxins build up and are stored.
Polish breads and pasta's are loaded with sugar.
Polish meats, sausages and cheeses are pure saturated fat and trans fats which are horrible for you.
I prefer to stick to my baked fish or chicken with tons of steamed vegetables.

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1450]

you clearly stated that meat should have more fibre..

Perhaps you would like to quote where I said any such thing.

...what you said was too simple to misunderstand.:):)

Obviously not as you sure missed the point.

all this 'heart clogging' is a myth anyway..:):)

You really should stop before you embarrass yourself anymore than you have already.
Atherosclerosis or the development of plaque inside the arteries makes them narrow and this can lead to serious health problems like heart attack and stroke.

This plaque is made up of fats; and the two main culprits leading to the development of plaque formation are saturated fats and trans fats which are found in many food items like the ones shown on this page.

Myth ? Hardly Love.

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1450]

I guess you guys misunderstood me Love.

Seems all these Polish foods shown lack any fiber.

My point, all the foods recently mentioned were heart cloggers.

and if anyone is embarrassing themselves here on this forum, it is you.

And that's another difference between Americans and Eurp's, us Americans know how to laugh at ourselves when we mess up but you Eurps have a mini meltdown and throw a hissy fit from your embarrassment of being wrong.

I was so very sure that the thread was: What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods?
And all the recent foods mention here contained no fiber, only fat, grease and sugars.
Wasn't I ask for my thoughts ?
Well those are my thoughts o.k.
You would have thought you farted in church the way you embarrassed yourselves.

History / Modern myths and legends about communist past in Poland [250]

Where do you see youngsters falling for the lies of socialism?

stream.org/time-wean-millennials-lies-socialism/#
All around the world with Venezuela recently topping the list as a failure.
Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy.
Even in the land of milk and honey like America Socialism is flurrying where the youth are sucking up Crazy Bernie.
Free free free but the Socialist don't know how they will pay for all the free things they want like healthcare, universities and etc.

Those lies........as someone has to pay for those things in the end.
Nothing is free.

Travel / American Visiting Polish Military Base. Issues? [13]

And to get back ON-Topic of the thread here.
It doesn't matter what country you are in including the Great United States of America, you aren't just going to be allowed to stroll into any countries military bases foot loose and fancy free without authorization and tight security clearances and still be only allowed in certain areas of it.

I know I would not do that in Russia!

Then why would you think American military bases in Poland are any different ?

Travel / American Visiting Polish Military Base. Issues? [13]

Americans wont require visas to visit Schengen countries like Poland,

That's because American's don't over stay their 90 days allowed stay time without a visa in Schengen countries like Poland.
(This has been explained very clearly now multi times here)
In fact so many Polish want to live in the Great United States of America that they abused the visa system merely to get a free ticket into America without any intentions of ever returning back to Poland again.

The United States of America Immigration finally said 'enough' and now require much more stringent visa measures to apply for entry to the Great United States of America, the Home of the Brave and the Land of the Free.

Now that we have explained that to the whiners that think Americans should be punished for a privilege that we do not abuse like they do we can hopefully put this one to rest once and for all.

Life / Owning a house in true countryside of Poland - stories [692]

When you are young those things don't cross your mind.
Then all of a sudden you are there starting retirement with an old worn out body.
You don't realize the steady unending maintenance that you are able to do (self maintenance) on your home when you are young.
Especially one in the country where there is always something to repair such as a plugged septic tank or a broken water well pump.
Country living is a lot more expensive and inconvenient then city living.
The freedoms and privacy of country living come with a price.

Study / Various education and school issues in Poland. Opinions, stories, controversies. [1006]

I have some pen pals in Poland that attend universities.
One of the most common complaints I hear about their instructors is that they demand to be treated like little gods.
You dare not to question them or disagree with them without fearing a failing grade.
Is this true that some ego maniac instructors use their authority to bully students in Poland ?

It's not just the teachers in Poland that are under paid.

Some uneducated people dont value educators

That's not what I said nor was my point.
What I said was:

The teachers union has become the strongest union in the country. So strong you can't even fire a useless teacher.

Having such a strong union eliminates the culling the dead weight teachers.
I continued with my point as to not let this happen in Poland.
Good example of dead weight teachers are the not so brilliant ones that post anti-Christian and their Socialist Commie propaganda here all day.
