yes but Gregy I am not a failure...:) I have been to university, raised and financially supported a family, and do not have a criminal record ...

Women are discouraged in different ways from doing STEM subjects. For example my daughter chose to do engineering, and was the only girl in the class.

The boys would sit around talking in a really horrible way about sex, and the teacher never told them to shut it. Just one small example.

'Great' in this sense means 'most important'.

Yes it is a shame that women are discouraged from STEM subjects. Probably a topic deserving of a whole other thread - but not here.

However, a female lawyer, for example, would obviously deserve to be paid the same for doing the same job as a man...

Frankly no, a high IQ is not a great indicator of future success. However I reiterate, I am quite sure mine is bigger than yours...;)

I am getting tired of explaining my name to fools. I chose it to indicate that I have reached a stage in my life when I can no longer pretend to know or understand everything. If you are very lucky, one day you too might realise that about yourself. In addition I chose it to show that I am a learner of Polish.

I dont see it so much as 'homophobic' as ignorant, as anyone with a smidgeon of language awareness would know that 'homo' just means 'same', as in 'homosexual'.'homeopathy' and 'homo sapiens'/ So po' Pollie is getting all hot under the collar about the 'sames'...:)

In my experience how good someone is at learning languages is about personality and necessity, Also whether one has a partner who speaks that language. Now obviously all of these things would more have been variables in your tiny sample of nine people than nationality....S:
