Life / A detailed description of the Easter tradition in Poland [41]
This year, however, she isn`t baking poppy seed cake which is my No 1, even before cheese cake.
So, I am going to take care of it myself. In Polish shops you can buy canned poppy seed pulp but it contains additives. Poppy seed is also available but you need to grind it on your own. The best choice is already ground poppy seed.
The problem is I am going to make it on Monday or even Tuesday coz now I mustn`t loiter in the kitchen and get in the way of other culinary masters..... :):):):)
My wife is making cakes.

I am trying to get across that grown ass means you have become very big-headed after gaining self confidence and the feeling of importance which you lacked before.
The origin of the phrase is very simple. - in the past, most people used to be slim with small asses coz they fed on low calorie food. The rich ones could afford better food, especially fatty meat so they were overweight with big asses. How did they feel about themselves? Self confident top dogs full of themselves, of course. :):):)

The last hint: I last heard this expression in 1990s from a colleague of mine who used to drive FIAT cars (very popular in communist Poland before) and ran an amateur garage. He was always besieged by FIAT owners, mostly young ones, who met at the garage to repair their cars, share their experiences or simply socialise. Mark was always extremely helpful and ready to offer expertise assistance to them. However, one day he needed help himself and called one of his young mates who, surprisingly, refused. Mark commented: He knew nothing, I taught him everything. His ass has grown and he doesn`t need me anymore.
