Life / Why are so many Polish People rude on the internet? [96]

Because they can vent, and let the evil twin hang out without fear of being 'outed'. Anonymous authors have been most vicious even before computers.

Of course, I'm ignoring attributing this to Polish people only. That is simply not true.

Life / What gifts to take? Presents customs in Poland. [167]

I always like getting USB memory sticks. (I know... a nerd.)
Taking them out to eat might be nice, I usually like that. Unless the company is very boring.

used to be a bottle of booze, or wine. I'd buy that in Poland. But now, Poland might be getting politically correct as well...

BTW, last time I got a Swiss Army knife with company logo on it.
Before, an airplane paper weight.

Love / My husband is Polish and I was wondering why he drinks all the time. [66]

Six drinks on a Sunday doesn't sound like a big deal. Being drunk every night after work is.

I agree.
I see some alcoholics that once they start, they cannot stop, and end up drinking until there is no more left or until they pass out.

But try talking to him about not drinking during the week first.
Then work on the weekend. The argument that works with my alcoholic brain is if I get used to having a drink when I'm having fun, soon I'll be needing a drink in order have fun. Don't want that to happen.

Language / Is the term 'Polak' derogatory?? [254]

disregard if it's been said before, but it all depends on the context: who says it, how they say it and why they say it. No?

Life / Do you think that Polish people are rude? [951]

I have learned the hard way that if the person does not introduce himself, and the call is not for me, "May I ask who is calling" may be perceived as an intrusion. I don't ask any more. "Would you like to leave a message" is good enough when the intended recipient is not home. Kids!

Off-Topic / To ALL IMMIGRANTS ("expats") to Poland on this forum... [124]

Okay so Admin removed my first post, not sure why?

I wish I remembered what you said..

I would like to go back but I am not going to support ...

I don't think you are as stupid as your first post indicated. I would be interested to know what set you off last night - were you reading something, or talked to somebody?

Anyway, I think it's time for you to change your nickname.
And hope the admins won't out you.

well good luck with that and all

dude, you're getting too worked up. Sometimes I like to engage in a little iPsychology instead of parsing others replies sentence by sentence. My bad.

I am contributing to the outing subject, right here. I have nothing more to say to that amanda person.

And grubas, for Jah's sake, man, you are being discussed like a specimen! I hope this is a good lesson for you.

he was lying, bullying and being a complete hypocrite

The way my bleeding heart sees it, he is a homesick Pole, getting distraught (probably from reading this forum) at the wave of Muslims poised to occupy his ojszczyzna. If he made it known that he is posting from abroad, the point, in his mind, would have been lost. Plus, he had a few drinks (I was betting on it when I replied Na Zdrowie) and did a half a$$ed (full a$$ed, actualy) but probably well intentioned call to arms. We could have make a point so many different ways, instead, almost everyone jumping in harped on that one fact, the deception. I feel dirty.

OK, here is one example that I admit to, when I was guilty of "lying". I'm a highly technical person, and in this one forum, mostly about building in 3rd world country, I assumed a male nick because I was not taken seriously. Seriously! After that I became one of the most helpful contributors. Eventually I did come out, though, proving a point. Should I feel bad about that deception?

Another one, with a bunch of sarcastic SOBs in NY that kept me up at night, I had two personalities (doesn't everyone though?), one agreeable, much loved persona, another, a cantakerous devils advocate. I don't do that anymore, I swear, but what fun I had! The admin never outed me out, but some alert readers, through painstaking writing style analysis, did.

In grubas's case, (I know, unreasonably), it just didn't seem like a clean fight after the outing.

is anyone besides me feeling a little uncomfortable with the fact that the admin outed grubas?
Couldn't we have dealt with his rant on it's own merits?
Admins wield considerable power here, and I've noticed that they do tend to weigh in to make their opinions known, much more so than in other forums I've seen (like changing the title of my thread about the dual citizenships)

For example, aren't they are privy to knowledge when we post from our corporate jobs computers? Would I be outed if I ranted about others work performance?

He probably lost his job, gets into fights everytime somebody calls him polak, drinks, overeats, and obvously not very smooth, socially speaking. I'm beginning to feel bad for the guy. I mean, calling himself grubas, that gets a point right there..

There's got to be another approach...
